On the westernmost end of the Inazuman archipelago are the islands of Watatsumi. Ruled autonomously by the Sangonomiya Clan, currently led by Kokomi, the people of Watatsumi are worshippers of the serpentine deity Orobashi - who, according to legends, rescued the ancestors of the islanders from the underground nation of Enkanomiya, and whose death at the hands of the Raiden Shogun centuries ago lies at the root of centuries-old tensions with the Shogunate to the east. In the present, these tensions would erupt into civil war following the Shogun ratifying the oppressive Sakoku and Vision Hunt Decrees, with the ensuing resistance from Watatsumi having grown their ranks with dissidents from Shogunate-ruled territory.\\\

Ruled autonomously by the Sangonomiya Clan, currently led by Kokomi, the people of Watatsumi are worshippers of the serpentine deity Orobashi - who, according to legends, rescued the ancestors of the islanders from the underground nation of Enkanomiya, and whose death at the hands of the Raiden Shogun centuries ago lay lies at the root of centuries-old tensions with the Shogunate to the east. In the present, these tensions would erupt into civil war following the Shogun ratifying the repressive oppressive Sakoku and Vision Hunt Decrees, with the ensuing resistance from Watatsumi having grown their ranks with dissidents from Shogunate-ruled territory.\\\

As a seasoned general of the Resistance, Gorou is a dedicated SupportPartyMember, with both his Elemental Skill and Burst generating areas-of-effect which immediately damage enemies and provide up to three buffs depending on the number of Geo-elemental allies in the party: in increasing levels, "Standing Firm", "Impregnable", and "Crunch", which respectively add buffs to Defense, interruption resistance, and Geo damage. His Elemental Skill, ''Inuzaka All-Round Defense'', has Gorou plant a "General's War Banner" on a fixed location (around Gorou in its tapped form, can be aimed when held), while his Elemental Burst, ''Juuga: Forward Unto Victory'', summons a "General's Glory", which, besides moving around the active character, additionally deals wide-ranging ''Crystal Collapse'' attacks and draws in generated Crystallize shards in regular intervals.\\

** It's not quite as extreme with Kokomi, who can at least serve as an effective healer for the party and can help in dealing extra damage to enemies with her Elemental Skill, but aside from that, there's likely not much else she can help with. Another potential use for her is making it easier cause a Hydro Crystalise reaction to create shields to defend against Hydro attacks, but it'd likely be possible to cause that reaction anyway without her if you're fighting enemies who use Hydro attacks in the first place.
** With Kazuha, the both of them are part of the game's respective neutral elements, Anemo which synergises with other elements to cause Swirl reactions to deal greater damage, and Geo which synergises with other to cause Crystalize, which characters can use to gain elemental shields to defend from attacks of the element it reacted with. As a result, neither element will be able to cause a reaction with the other, giving the two friends little elemental reaction potential. And since an optimal Gorou team will likely lack room for any Pyro, Cryo, Hydro or Electro characters if you were to include Kazuha, the most help the {{Ronin}} will be is to use his Elemental Skill to gather up enemies in one place.

On the westernmost end of the Inazuman archipelago lay the island of Watatsumi, ruled autonomously by the Sangonomiya Clan, currently led by Kokomi, worshippers of the serpentine deity Orobashi who, according to legends, rescued the ancestors of the islanders from the underground nation of Enkanomiya, and whose death at the hands of the Raiden Shogun centuries ago lay at the root of centuries-old tensions with the Shogunate to the east. In the present, these tensions would erupt into civil war following the Shogun ratifying the repressive Sakoku and Vision Hunt Decrees, with the ensuing resistance from Watatsumi having grown their ranks with dissidents from Shogunate-ruled territory.

Divine Priestess of Watasumi Island and namesake leader and strategist of the Resistance against the Vision Hunt Decree. As leader of both the island and the rebellion, she provides shelter to people who fear losing, or already lost, their Visions and people who chose to fight back against the nation's state of affairs, even as she struggles to take on so many responsibilities for a girl of her age.\\
\\
As leader of Watatsumi, Kokomi is capable of supporting her allies through healing and defensive support in exchange for a near-total inability to land critical hits. Her Elemental Skill, ''Kurage's Oath'', has her summon a "Bake-Kurage", a jellyfish-shaped being which continually deals Hydro damage on surrounding enemies and heals surrounding allies. Her Elemental Burst, ''Nereid's Ascension'', sees Kokomi don a "Ceremonial Garment," a raiment made of water, which increases the damage of her normal attacks and of the Bake-Kurage, gives her the ability to heal her allies with her normal attacks, and allows her to walk on water.\\
\\
As Kokomi formulates her best strategy for a decisive victory, the healing potency of both the Bake-Kurage and normal/charged attacks enhanced with Ceremonial Garb increase for allies with less than half their HP; triggering ''Nereid's Ascension'' resets the duration of a Bake-Kurage present; and the Ceremonial Garb gains the ability to add a fish-shaped extra hit at the end of her standard combo and augment her normal attacks with a speed boost and low Energy restoration, as well as a Hydro damage buff whenever her attacks heal allies with over 80% HP.\\
\\
Kokomi can only be obtained when the ''Drifting Luminescence'' Character Event Wish is active.

* OneHundredPercentAdorationRating: It's evident that everyone on Watatsumi highly reveres and respects her for both her kind demeanour, dutiful personality, and military brilliance. This adoration gets tested, however, during her Story Quest, when many of her soldiers are incredulous to her willingness to engage in peace talks with the Shogunate (represented by Kujou Sara), causing them to question her behind her back and [[spoiler:spread rumors about the Commission being in league with the Fatui in hopes of sabotaging the talks. Once she caught wind of their plot, however, she calls them out on their belligerence and prioritizing their vendetta against the Shogunate over the wellbeing of people from both sides, causing them to contemplate on their actions and eventually stand down]].
* AmbiguouslyHuman: Kokomi ''loves'' diving to unwind, and while this might seems normal at first, Serenitea Pot conversation with her at Friendship Level 7 implies that she can breathe underwater (she came up with a solution to the Traveler not being able to breathe underwater on the spot, implying she doesn't need to), making it likely that [[ApparentlyHumanMerfolk she (or even the entire Sangonomiya Clan) is not fully human]].
* AnimalThemeNaming: She uses fish names for the army squads (like ''Herring'', ''Stingray'' and ''Swordfish''). Her pen-name while exchanging mail with Yae Miko was "Sole of the Deep."
* AwesomeButImpractical: ''Nereid's Ascension'' gives Kokomi the ability to WalkOnWater during its duration. It's neat and handy as it sounds for exploration purposes, but the fact that it's locked behind an Elemental Burst makes it a novelty at best, since players wouldn't want to waste an Elemental Burst just for a MundaneUtility. At the very least, this perk is useful when fighting enemies near deep bodies of water to prevent Kokomi from being forced into a swimming animation, which would disrupt the flow of combat.
* BadassAdorable: Kokomi is one of the most intelligent people in Inazuma, having almost singlehandedly kept the Resistance afloat with her strategic planning. When she's not leading her forces, she shows a perky, youthful side, such as her fascination for reading, habit of describing emotional shifts in terms of "energy levels," and confiding to the Traveler her insecurities and vulnerabilities.
* BadassBookworm: Reading is Kokomi's favorite pastime when she is not busy with her leadership duties. Her favorite subject, of course, is in military treatise. In her idle animation, she can also be seen reading a copy of ''A Legend of Sword'' written by Xinqiu as "Zhenyu."
* BareFistedMonk: Her character demo trailer showcases her gracious hand-to-hand techniques when fending off Hydro Slimes. Much like Diluc though, she doesn't display this prowess in-game.
* BareYourMidriff: Her outfit exposes a small portion of her stomach. However, the way the ribbons of the bow at her chest frame her belly button makes this more akin to a [[NavelWindow navel window]] instead.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: When she learned that some of her soldiers attempted to [[spoiler:sabotage peace talks with the Shogunate]], she briefly gets quite snippy with them, in contrast to her usual perky demeanor.
* BigDamnHeroes: Just when the Resistance seems on the brink of defeat at the second one-third of the Inazuma Archon Quest, [[spoiler:Kokomi appears not only bringing reinforcements, including Kazuha and Beidou, turning the tide and forcing Sara and the Shogunate forces to retreat.]]
* BrilliantButLazy: Despite her intellect and stature, Kokomi doesn't like to work any harder than she has to and would rather stay in her room reading novels than lead an army.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: {{Downplayed}}. Kokomi is a gifted strategist and political leader, but she's not without her quirks.
** Considering her official role is as a priestess and political leader, her knowledge of military strategy can be seen as this in of itself.
** She bases her motivation to do things on "Energy Points" (reminiscent of [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spoon_theory spoon theory]]), and even keeps a diary of incidents and happenings that either increase or decrease her energy based on this point scale.
* TheChainsOfCommanding:
** Unlike the Raiden Shogun, who at least has the Tri-Commission to assist her, Kokomi is solely in charge of most affairs at Watatsumi; as such, citizens come to her for advice on almost all sorts of problems, which more often than not take their toll on her. Midway through her Story Quest, the Traveler finds her in her secret hideout, exhausted from all the work, explaining to them how she never wanted to be a leader, just an adviser, but for her lineage foisting so much responsibility on her.
** While she's certainly gifted for it, running the Resistance doesn't lessen her woes. While she's doing a good job all things considered, the Resistance is still vastly disadvantaged against the Shogunate and in turn requires all the help they can get, such as when they're forced to accept help from a mysterious backer despite her concerns, [[spoiler:which prove justified when it's revealed that they're the Fatui, who are [[NotInThisForYourRevolution not so much invested in their cause as much as interested in using the rebels as test subjects for their mass-produced Delusions]].]] And even after the war ground to a ceasefire, she has to deal with [[spoiler:hot-blooded soldiers actively sabotaging peace talks with the Shogunate to continue the war out of lingering resentment]].
** She even feels compelled to keep her personal distaste for fish a secret because of Watatsumi Island's fishing industry, fearing that the knowledge becoming widespread could affect morale.
* CombatMedic: Her moveset is oriented around providing damage and healing in equal measure. Her Elemental Skill creates a jellyfish that deals wide-ranging Hydro damage at intervals like Mona's, but instead of a taunt it will also heal nearby allies. Her Burst, in a similar vein to Barbara's Skill, allows her to heal her allies with each normal attack while it's active, while also increasing the damage of her attacks based on her Max HP and Healing Bonus, which are the stats used for her heals.
* CrazyPrepared: According to Gorou, she's written ''five volumes'' of operational directives for her soldiers to use in battle, political matters, and even more mundane instances, including in the event that she disappears without warning.
* CriticalHitClass: Inverted; her combat passive gives her an inherent ''-100%'' Critical Rate in exchange for a 25% boost to Healing Bonus, making it very difficult and impractical for her to land critical hits or be geared for the same.
* DidntSeeThatComing: She admits to being suspicious of her mysterious backer, but the Resistance is backed too far into a corner for her to refuse, so she settles for keeping an eye out for evidence of manipulation or foul play. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, her backers turn out to be the Fatui, who have no stake in the result of the war, and only want to draw it out for as long and as fiercely as they can manage. As a result, she's caught flat-footed when they don't sabotage the war effort but rather secretly provide her forces with Delusions, which enables them to make such incredible gains in the short term that nobody stops to ask questions until the side effects start kicking in.]]
* DoesNotLikeSpam: Kokomi doesn't like fish dishes, since the people of Watatsumi claim descent from the underwater civilization of Enkanomiya. However, she doesn't want the islanders to know, since fishing is their main source of income, and it would look bad if their ''de facto'' leader isn't fond of it.
* DubNameChange: In the Chinese dub, per AlternateCharacterReading, her name is Shānhúgōng Xīnhǎi.
* EveryoneHasStandards: While she appreciates any efforts to strengthen the resistance, [[spoiler:she's completely horrified when her soldiers have been using Delusions from the Fatui, revealed to be their anonymous sponsor, to increase their power but also quickly killing them, and immediately bans their usage and requests the Traveler to sabotage the source]].
* FullNameBasis: The game refers to her by her full name of Sangonomiya Kokomi at all times.
* GoodCounterpart: To the Raiden Shogun.
** Appearance-wise, Kokomi is a short, petite young lady with a pastel blue-and-pink color scheme, whereas the Shogun is a tall, curvy adult woman wearing striking shades of purple and violet. Their fighting styles are also completely different, with Kokomi fighting at a distance with phantasmal fish while the Shogun fights in close quarters with her naginata or tachi. Both have a means of off-field elemental damage through their Skills, and both their Bursts grant them an enhanced state where they regenerate resources for their teammates (HP for Kokomi, Energy for the Shogun).
** Both are lead opposing sides of Inazuma's civil war. Near the climax of the Inazuma Archon Quest, Kokomi also orders [[spoiler:the seizure of all Delusions distributed to the Resistance by the Fatui, not unlike the Raiden Shogun's Vision Hunt Decree, albeit for a more justifiable cause that the Delusions are quickly killing off their users]]. Finally, similar to how Kokomi will sometimes hole herself up in her home to unwind, [[spoiler:the real Raiden Shogun, Ei, is often ensorcelled in the Plane of Euthymia and away from the real world]].
** Their ways of governing contrast greatly with each other. Kokomi oversees the affairs of Watatsumi (including its military) by herself, and is directly asked to for advice from her people; her Vision story entry also states that she leads by the will of the people instead of her own. But such a method of governing tires her a lot, and she believes that she's not a perfect leader, yet she has to appear as one to her people. By contrast, the Shogun has the Tri-Commision oversee the nation's various affairs; but since [[spoiler:Ei refuses to be directly involved in governing and only has the Shogun puppet do the work for her]], this means that the Commissions are lacking supervision and thus can potentially do things behind her back, [[spoiler:which is exactly what created the current crisis in Inazuma]]. She also leads by imposing her own ideal of "eternity" onto her nation, heedless of her people's desires and wiles.
* HiddenDepths: Despite her demure demeanor and role as the Divine Priestess and leader of Watatsumi, Kokomi had more interest in military strategy growing up and dreamed of being a military advisor instead.
* {{Miko}}: What her title and role as the Divine Priestess suggest, though it should be noted that Watatsumi worships a different deity from the rest of Inazuma, and as such don't fall under the jurisdiction of the Grand Narukami Shrine.
* MythicalMotifs:
** Kokomi is a coral-themed Hydro Vision holder, and an alternate reading of her name, ''Sango no Miya Kokomi'' or ''Sango-no-Miya-kokoro-umi'', roughly translates to "coral's palace heart-ocean", a reference to the handful of stories from Myth/JapaneseMythology that describe water deities as living in palaces made of coral.
** In addition, the combination of her flowing clothing and the Ceremonial Garb brings to mind the ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tennin tennyo]]'', divine maidens and messengers of the gods in Japanese UsefulNotes/{{Buddhism}}, whose most notable article of clothing is a ''hagoromo'', a featherweight shawl that seemingly floats above their head and shoulders, befitting a divine priestess such as Kokomi.
* OddFriendship: The Irodori Festival event reveals that she and Yae Miko have been exchanging mail for a while under pen-names, and once they meet, they get along pretty well because of their shared taste for literature despite Paimon being worried about their differences in political and religious allegiances.
* OurMermaidsAreDifferent: While not strictly a mermaid in the traditional sense, her attire still evokes the aquatic theme that the people of Watatsumi Island put emphasis on by featuring a lot of fish-fin details befitting for a Hydro Vision holder.
* PinkIsFeminine: Her hair is a pastel hue of salmon pink tipped with a pale blue gradient.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure:
** Recognizing the Traveler's combat prowess and skill, she puts them in charge of Swordfish II, one of her army's most well-renowned platoons.
** Upon discovering [[spoiler:the peace talk saboteurs and [[ShamingTheMob making the weight of their actions clear]], [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone causing them to rethink their actions]]]], she decides that their punishment is to go through grueling training to become the island's security force, recognizing that while both sides need to be more open, neither can afford to let their guard, especially with [[spoiler:still-existing corruption in the Tenryou Commission]], with the added benefit of allowing them to let out their pent-up aggression. She then however states in no uncertain terms that she won't let them off next time for any acts of insubordination.
* RebelLeader: Kokomi leads the Sangonomiya Resistance, and her subordinates highly revere her for her strategic planning, and some of her adversaries in the Shogunate also respect her.
* TheStrategist: As both leader and strategist of the Resistance, she is renowned for her cunning. Numerous characters mention that it is only thanks to her that the Resistance has been able to stand against the Shogunate forces and even snatch some victories despite being vastly inferior in military strength.
* TurnTheOtherCheek: While most Watatsumi islanders have always been resentful towards the Shogunate for slaying their patron god Orobashi, Kokomi makes it clear that the current rebellion is against the Vision Hunt Decree, and says that they need to abandon their old grudges.
* UpgradeArtifact: A variant--her third and fifth Constellation upgrades, ''The Moon, A Ship O'er the Seas'' and ''All Streams Flow to the Sea'', increase the talent levels of, respectively, ''Nereid's Ascension'' and ''Kurage's Oath'' by three.
* WalkOnWater: She gains the ability to stand on the surface of water while she wears the Ceremonial Garment.
* WaterIsWomanly: Kokomi is currently the female Hydro Vision holder who most represents this trope thanks to her iridescent, mermaid-esque design, which makes her very pretty to look at.
* WhiteMagicianGirl: Like Barbara before her, Kokomi is geared toward healing, albeit without sacrificing her offensive potential. Her Elemental Skill summons a Bake-Kurage that heals allies within its radius, while her Burst allows her to heal allies while she attacks.
* TheWomanWearingTheQueenlyMask: Makes a point of showing no weakness and hiding her tastes and preferences from the world, even though she commonly experiences bouts of self-doubt and finds keeping up the act tiring.
-->"The people of Watatsumi Island need a perfect leader, not some girl who likes to wile away her time at home."
* YamatoNadeshiko: Not unlike Ayaka, her eastern counterpart, apart from her pink hair (instead of the traditional black) Kokomi almost entirely fits the standards of a traditional Japanese beauty (again befitting Inazuma's Japanese cultural aesthetic)—graceful, soft-spoken, and, should the need arise, a competent leader.
* YouCantFightFate: In one of her voice-overs, Kokomi reveals that she had no intention of becoming the Divine Priestess and studied to become a military advisor a while back, which explains how she is such an adept commander of the resistance. However, she still became one, and [[LampshadeHanging remarks that one "can't defy that which flows in your veins."]]

General of the Sangonomiya resistance and Kokomi's right-hand man, known for his fierce loyalty both towards his lady and his men.\\
\\
\\
Gorou holding true to his convictions grants both his Elemental Talents the ability to boost his damage output based on a fraction of his Defense stat, as well as those of his allies' Geo attacks depending on the level of their generated "General" fields; ''Juuga: Forward Unto Victory'' gains a Defense buff; both "General" fields gain the ability to cut into the cooldown time of ''Inuzaka All-Round Defense'' whenever any of Gorou's allies deal Geo-elemental damage within its radius; and General's Glory in particular sees an extension to its duration whenever an ally picks up elemental crystals, as well as gains the ability to periodically heal allies within its radius based on a fraction of Gorou's Defense stat at "Impregnable" stage and up.\\
\\
Gorou can be obtained from any banner.
----
* AmbiguouslyBi: He's intrigued at the prospect of being together for a lifetime with the Traveler, and is positively ''excited'' at the idea of having the Traveler touch, groom and comb his tail, regardless if the Traveler is Lumine or Aether.
* AnimalMotif: Dogs. Along with his canine ears and tail, his Constellation is Canis Bellatoris, the Dog of War, and he has an UndyingLoyalty to Kokomi.
* AreaOfEffect: Gorou specializes in generating fields that provide up to three different buffs depending on the number of Geo-elemental allies in the party--stationary with General's War Banner, and around the active character with General's Glory.
* AttractiveBentGender:
** [[spoiler:Yae Miko fashioned an alter ego for him named Ms. Hina as he was working anonymously for the Yae Publishing House's periodical. This gained enough popularity that Ms. Hina got herself a fan club. Miko then took it a step further and created a character design for Hina based on Gorou's appearance and placed a standee of her in front of the publishing house on the same day Gorou is supposed to visit for the current issue of his column. The Traveler had to keep him away from seeing it, despite the crowd noting how similar Gorou and Ms. Hina looks.]]
** [[spoiler:Yae Miko does it again at the end of the final "Legend of the Kasen" Festival Deeds quest; she tells Gorou from a letter that next month he will cosplay a character from a popular light novel and attend a fan meeting later on. Miko also made a tailor made outfit made specifically for him... And it's a woman's outfit much to his annoyance. The character he is going to portray is implied to be Guuji from "Pretty Please, Kitsune Guuji".]]
* BadassAdorable: Gorou is an experienced general, a skilled archer, and is a highly-respected figure in the Resistance. He also has a major sweet tooth, genuinely believes that IHaveThisFriend is a convincing excuse, and tends to sleep in the fetal position while hugging his tail.
* BareYourMidriff: Gorou's battle armor leaves his midsection exposed.
* BloodKnight: According to Kokomi, his one flaw is that he tends to get heated in the middle of battle.
* ChasteHero: Incredible at counseling those dealing with any number of social situations, but not romance, as admitted by both himself and the fans of his advice column.
* CooldownManipulation: His first Constellation upgrade, ''Rushing Hour: Swift as the Wind'', shaves two seconds off the ten-second cooldown time of ''Inuzaka All-Round Defense'' (with at least a ten-second interval) whenever allies deal Geo-elemental damage within the radii of either of his "General" fields; and in a variant, his second, ''Sitting Hound: Steady as a Clock'', adds a second to the duration of General's Glory whenever an ally within the field's radius picks up an elemental shard (within a 0.1-second interval and to a maximum of three seconds).
* CripplingOverspecialization: As a support-oriented unit, Gorou only truly shines if you have at least three other Geo units (particularly ones whose offensive power scales off of the [=DEF=] stat, like Albedo or Itto). Otherwise there's very little that he can provide to a team.
* DamageOverTime: ''General's Glory'' periodically deals Geo-elemental ''Crystal Collapse'' attacks on enemies around the active character every 1.5 seconds.
* DubNameChange: In the Chinese dub, per AlternateCharacterReading, his name is Wǔláng.
* EpicFail: In one of his Hangout routes, he accuses [[TheGadfly Yae Miko]] of hugging her tail in her sleep and daydreaming of someone grooming her tail, [[PsychologicalProjection just like himself]]. Not only this means he just bared his entire hand to her, it fails because ''[[FailedASpotCheck she doesn't have a tail]]''. He and the Traveler can only slink back, dejected and defeated.
* EvenTheLovingHeroHasHatedOnes: Although he's usually a friendly guy who does his best to support both his men and the readers of "That's Life", the war has left him with a very low opinion of the Shogunate. Even after [[spoiler:the war comes to an end and the Vision Hunt Decree is abolished]], he makes it clear that he won't easily forgive Raiden Shogun for her actions regardless of her reasons.
* ExpressiveEars: His ears perk up and droop down depending on mood. Yae Miko can read him like a book based on his ears and tail.
* AFatherToHisMen:
** Passionately declares that he will never abandon the Resistance's own, and backs this up [[spoiler: when Sara offers a temporary truce in exchange for taking the Traveler into custody. In spite of not knowing that Kokomi was gathering reinforcements, he stands his ground and refuses to let the Shogun have them.]]
** Kokomi's character quest has him state that his men have always been willing to share their troubles with him before, making their secretiveness during the quest all the more odd. [[spoiler: This is because they're conspiring to disrupt the Peace Talks and continue the war, and knew that he'd be opposed due to his UndyingLoyalty to Kokomi.]]
* FrontlineGeneral: Unlike Kokomi, Gorou works on the frontlines and fights alongside the Resistance.
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: Gorou has an UndyingLoyalty towards Kokomi, and is noted to be a good friend of Kazuha's. However, being a Geo character who's at his best when in a team with at least two other Geo characters, he has remarkably low synergy with the both of them.
* LittleBitBeastly: He has canine ears and a fluffy tail.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Gorou is unique in that the properties of his abilities directly change depending on the composition of the party, gaining more effects the more Geo characters there are.
* MeaningfulName: ゴ (''go'') is a homophone for 護 (usually read as ''mamoru'', [[AlternateCharacterReading but can also be read]] as ''go''), meaning "to protect".
** Gorou is also a very old-fashioned Japanese name that quite literally means "5th son". And, well, he's the 5th son in his family.
* MyInstinctsAreShowing: A few times during his Hangout Event, Gorou's tail swishes side to side when he's happy or excited. And one of his idle animations has him try to remain stoic, only to get distracted by a passing butterfly, attempting to reach out to it before catching himself.
* NumberTwo: He is the second in command after Kokomi's leadership. He is in charge of training and directing the troops during battle, following Kokomi's directions to the letter.
* OddFriendship: He immediately makes good friends with Itto at the ''Akitsu Kimodameshi'' event, with Gorou being calm and polite, and Itto extroverted and impulsive. While they both discuss their shared love for fishing, their methods are very different: Gorou likes fishing by hand, while Itto finds it more fun using a fishing rod. [[spoiler:Also Itto can’t tell Gorou is Ms. Hina (Gorou doesn’t even know about the Ms. Hina stunt) despite all the contrived coincidences.]] In Itto’s words about Gorou, he can feel a familiar feeling from Gorou just talking to him.
* OddNameOut: Unlike the other important Inazuma characters (except for Thoma), Gorou's name in Japanese is spelled with katakana (ゴロー), despite having usable kanji from his Chinese name, Wulang (五郎).
* OnionTears: His [[AllThereInTheManual character]] [[https://twitter.com/GenshinImpact/status/1469517298763403267 details]] have him mention an incident where ground onions in his food reduced him to tears at the mess table.
* PlagueOfGoodFortune: When he visits the Irodori Festival, he ends up winning several giveaways while buying books for Kokomi... all of which terrify him because the prizes either remind him of or threaten to put him in contact with [[TheDreaded Miko]]. First he wins a toy fox, then a book reviewed by Miko, then wins a full collection of light novels to be awarded by Miko herself. Thankfully he is spared from that last one (but not before Miko uses the chance to rope him into more crossdressing).
* PowerUpMagnet: General's Glory has the ability to draw in elemental shards towards the active character.
* RegeneratingHealth: His fourth Constellation upgrade, ''Lapping Hound: Warm as Water'', grants an "Impregnable"- or "Crunch"-grade General's Glory the ability to periodically heal allies within its radius every 1.5 seconds based on half of Gorou's Defense stat.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: The final "Legend of the Kasen" Festival Deeds quest has him intending to accompany Kokomi when she came to met a pen pal of hers. However, once that pen pal ended up being [[TheDreaded Yae Miko]], he ran away from her as fast as he could.
* ShipTease: With the Traveler. One of the routes of his Hangout Event has them offer to teach him to overcome his fear of people like [[TheGadfly Yae Miko]] by imitating them. Some of the dialogue options here are ''incredibly'' flirty, as if the Traveler is having fun taking on the role of an aggressive tease. On the other hand, Miko's counterplan to Gorou attempting to confront her directly in another route is to suggest that the Traveler and Gorou are there to divine their future as a couple. Gorou is as defensive as ever, but Miko notes that [[MyInstinctsAreShowing his tail is swishing]]. Given that part of the advice that was given to him was that one of the ways to get a one up on someone like her in a situation like this is to compromise somehow, it's likely he was considering taking her up on that offer before deciding against it.
* SpeaksFluentAnimal: Gorou can understand and interpret complete sentences from Shiba Inus (or dogs in general) which he demonstrates in his Hangout Event when he easily held a conversation with Taroumaru regarding the Treasure Hoarders that raided the Komore Teahouse. According to Gorou, Taroumaru was speaking in a kind of dialect from his perspective, most of which goes beyond his head but he understands the general idea. This should be taken with a grain of salt, because [[LampshadeHanging as pointed out by the Traveler]], his understanding went well beyond the general idea and into a specific description of the scene, complete with names. In fact, he somehow got all that [[TranslationYes from a single woof]].
* StatusBuff: Both of Gorou's "General" fields generate up to three buffs depending on the number of Geo-elemental allies. If Gorou is the only Geo unit, the field is in "Standing Firm" stage, which provides a Defense buff; if there are two Geo units, "Impregnable" gets stacked, which adds a buff to interruption resistance; and if three Geo units are present, "Crunch" is issued, providing a 15% Geo damage boost. In addition, his first passive, ''Heedless of the Wind and Weather'', adds a twelve-second-long 25% Defense buff for the party to ''Juuga: Forward to Victory''; his second, ''A Favor Repaid'', adds a damage boost to both his Elemental Talents based on 15.6% of his Defense stat; and his sixth Constellation upgrade, ''Valiant Hound: Mountainous Fealty'', adds to both fields a Geo Critical damage buff (in increasing grade, 10%, 20%, or 40%).
* SupportPartyMember: Gorou's skillset revolves around powering up Geo-oriented teams, with both his Elemental Skill and Burst dealing wide-ranging damage and generating fields that provide diverse buffs depending on the number of Geo allies in the team, with the latter having the additional ability to draw elemental shards towards the active character and deal damage at regular intervals.
* SweetTooth: He loves sweets, with his top favorites being cake and dango, because he rarely gets to enjoy them at war.
* TakingYouWithMe: Attempts to embarrass Yae Miko by revealing his entire hand, banking on his own PsychologicalProjection. It [[EpicFail failed spectacularly]]. [[spoiler:Unbeknownst to him at the time, Miko actually does have a tail. 5 of them.]]
* UpgradeArtifact: A variant--his third and fifth Constellation upgrades, ''Mauling Hound: Fierce as Fire'' and ''Striking Hound: Thunderous Force'', increase the talent levels of, respectively, ''Inuzaka All-Round Defense'' and ''Juuga: Forward Unto Victory'' by three.
* VirtualCelebrity: The effect of him being an [[spoiler:anonymous correspondent for Yae Publishing House is this. Yae Miko fashioned a female alter-ego for him named Ms. Hina, and this became a full blown example of this trope after Miko went all the way and designed an image of Ms. Hina to put an actual face behind his now popular advice column, based on Gorou's features. This effectively makes him a sort of prototype [=VTuber=] in a medieval setting.]]
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: [[TheDreaded Yae Miko]]. When Kokomi and Miko meet each other during the festival, Gorou makes a stealthy [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere but quick retreat]]. Thanks to her, Gorou becomes terrified at even a ''plush'' of a fox. His luck gets even worse during the Irodori festival where he keeps winning items from Yae Publishing House, and even wins the grand prize of receiving a handshake and photo of himself next to Yae Miko herseñf. Paimon lampshades this, wondering if Gorou was both lucky and unlucky.

* NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist: His role in the pro-war faction is because he claims that there's nothing stopping the Tenryou Commission from backstabbing them or the Raiden Shogun from declaring a new Vision Hunt Decree, meaning the only solution is to achieve complete victory over them. As Paimon points out however, [[BloodKnight he and his pals are just too used to the war to accept peace]], and he practically admits after that it's because he's incapable of letting go of his grudge against them for the casualties incurred during the war.
* RevengeMyopia: One reason he and his cohorts conspire to keep the war going is due to an inability to forgive the Shogunate for the deaths of their comrades incurred during it. While the Shogunate is the main instigator due to imposing the Vision Hunt Decree in the first place, this ignores how Watatsumi chose to rebel and fight back against the Shogunate in an armed conflict would clearly lead to casualties, and that the soldiers their fighting are just rank-and-file soldiers with families back home, just like them.
* TooDumbToLive: Even if their plot to continue the war worked, Kokomi points out during her dressing down of them that with the disadvantages they were at coupled by the losses incurred due to the Delusions meant that they wouldn't be able to stand as much of a chance as they did before and Watasuumi would likely just end up getting wiped out. Plus, while it goes unstated, there's the fact that it would eventually pit them against a PhysicalGod who [[spoiler: killed a Fatui Harbinger and centuries old demi-god with ease]], which wouldn't bode well even if they did stand more of a chance against the Shogunate forces.

[[folder:Masashi and Tokuda]]
!!Masashi and Tokuda

Two Watatsumi soldiers who are often seen together.
----
* BloodKnight: Masashi has shades of this. He is eager to get back to the battlefield much to Tokuda's chagrin who reminds him that he has the recover first.
* TheBusCameBack: After not appearing in the debut quest they appear in, they finally make a return in Heizou's Hangout Event acting as Todoroki's escorts.
* RedOniBlueOni: Masashi is the red, who is eager to fight and spar. While Tokuda is the sensible blue who often reminds him not to get reckless.
* ThoseTwoGuys: Are often seen together in a quest that involves them.

[[folder:Shouji]]
!!Shouji

A Watatsumi archer who seems to be bad with a bow.
----
* ATeamFiring: During his first appearance, he has missed every shot with a bow, to the point that he requires a bow user to even teach him the basics.
* NewMeat: Hinted, given he isn't particularly adept with a bow (and he only managed to hit 1 target). In a commission "Archery Demonstration" he wanted another demonstration in the hopes of becoming a better marksman.

[[folder:Teppei]]
!!Teppei

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/YuichiIguchi (Japanese), Christian La Monte (English)

A soldier of the resistance who, due to being unable to fully complete his training due to the need for troops, was assigned to the logistics division. He's among the first of the them that The Traveler meets.
----
* BladeOnAStick: Like most basic footsoldiers, this is his weapon of choice.
* CastFromLifespan: [[spoiler:Teppei's Fatui Delusion eats into his life the more he taps into its power.]]
* DistressedDude: The Traveler first encounters him being bullied by two Shogunate samurai, rescuing him by fighting them off.
* ForgottenFallenFriend:
** [[spoiler: {{Averted}}. His death utterly enrages the Traveler and drives their actions for the remainder of Act III, such as their decision to [[DuelToTheDeath duel La Signora before the Shogun’s throne.]]]]
** [[spoiler: ZigZagged in Kokomi's Character Quest. He's not mentioned during the quest, but when the player finds Kokomi's journal while searching the cave for a book she was reading, they'll find that under the entry about the Traveler's return, she stated that it would probably be best to not bring Teppei up in fear of bringing down the mood.]]
* IJustWantToBeSpecial: Teppei has high aspirations and desires to be more than just a logistics guy to make a greater contribution to the resistance.
* IncurableCoughOfDeath: As Act 3 goes on, he starts suffering coughing fits [[spoiler: due to his Delusion-induced RapidAging.]]
* MilesGloriosus: Tries to come off as more badass than he actually is in all of his accounts and stories. [[spoiler: This likely contributed him into accepting a Delusion without question which backfired on him.]]
* MrExposition: Serves as the Traveler's guide regarding the matters of the Sangonomiya Resistance and their deity, Orobashi.
* RapidAging: [[spoiler: Due to using a Delusion provided by the Resistance's backers, the Fatui, he suffers rapid aging and effectively dies of old age.]]
* StuffedIntoTheFridge: Killed off specifically to infuriate the Traveler into more immediate action.
* TheSmartGuy: Teppei is knowledgeable in several fields from medicine to strategy. Too bad he wants to be useful on the front lines of the war. [[spoiler: This caused him to accept a Delusion without knowing its side effects until it's too late.]]
* TookALevelInBadass: Next time The Traveler and Paimon meet him after their first mission as Captain of Swordfish II, he's made great contributions in dealing with the Shogunate Navy and is being made Captain of his own squadron as a result. [[spoiler: As it turns out, this is because he was given a Delusion.]]
* TooDumbToLive: [[spoiler: Ends up trusting shadowy figures, the Fatui, and uses a secret weapon resembling a Vision given to him, not questioning its origins or the potential negative side-effects. Scaramouche and La Signora, in very KickTheDog fashions, frequently {{Lampshade}} this, albeit when referring to everyone in the Resistance who took their Delusions.]]
* WalkingSpoiler: It's hard to talk about him without mentioning his [[spoiler: untimely death, and how it ignites an even deeper grudge against the Fatui in The Traveler.]]

[[folder:Tsuyuko]]
!!Tsuyuko
A Sangonomiya shrine maiden who according to Kokomi is one of the most dependable of her disciples. She is the NPC who The Traveler must interact with to begin the quest chain which unlocks Enkanomiya.
----
* ContraltoOfDanger: In contrast to the breathy quality of Kokomi, Tsuyuko has a significantly deeper voice.
* DeadpanSnarker: She slips in a lot more irreverence than you'd expect out of a devoted shrine maiden, snarking heavily about the trials and ceremonies she has The Traveler go through, their role as a hero, and even some digs at ''Kokomi'' herself.
* ShipperOnDeck: She quite obviously thinks Kokomi and The Traveler (whether Aether or Lumine) make a cute couple. At one point she refers to them talking to her together as a date, and giggles when Paimon refers to Kokomi by name instead of her title. Kokomi actually has to threaten to reassign her to Specter watching to force her to shut up.
