* ExoticEyeDesigns: The Solmic royals all have starburst-shaped pupils. A Bond Conversation between Timerra and Lucina (where she points out the mark of the Exalt in Lucina's pupil) notes that this isn't simply an art choice, the odd pupils are very much real and visible to other people in-universe.

** While it's never actually visited in the game, Pale Sands (The closed-off region of Solm that Kagetsu hails from) is a very obvious {{Expy}} of feudal Japan.
* TheGhost: Timerra's and Fogado's father is mentioned to still be alive and that he simply likes to travel around Solm like they do, but he never appears in-game. [[spoiler:This actually makes Timerra and Fogado the only royals ''without'' a dead dad by the end of the game]].
* GratuitousItalian: Downplayed, but there are minimal Italian influences. For starters, every character originating from Solm is named after an Italian dessert and Italian cuisine is present in Solm's section of the menu in the cafe. Timerra and Fogado will occasionally greet Alear with "Ciao" in their respective wake up events with the former even saying it as her select quote in battle.
* {{Matriarchy}}: In their nation, it is customary that the throne passes to the first princess instead of the first prince (and the queen's husband has the title of "Queen's Consort"). Downplayed in that there is no sign that women are otherwise preferred for positions of power; instead, the nation is known mostly for being very open-minded.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: She's kind and laid-back for the most part, but shows a more forceful and stern side when dealing with Hortensia, who'd threatened to kill her. She also readily and smoothly lies to the party about her knowledge of the war and Sombron's return until Fogado and Timerra decide its beneficial to reveal the truth.

* TheHighQueen: The kind, benevolent queen of Solm, who treats all of her subordinates, including the palace guards, like family.

The second prince of the Kingdom of Solm, and Timerra's younger brother. Because the Queen inherits the throne, he grew up even more freely than his sister and he's optimistic and easy-going. It seems he's traveling the country to protect his people.\\\

* BigBrotherInstinct: In his case it's more Little Brother Instinct. It's especially poignant in his Support Conversation with Céline, where he notes that in order to back up his older sister in everyway he can he trained himself to be stronger, more capable and more [[GoodIsNotSoft pragmatic]] than Timerra. Both he and Céline note with wry amusement that on that level they are [[CommonalityConnection not so different, and in order to back up their older siblings, both of them learned to be a lot more ruthless than them, and both are utterly at ease with such actions.]]

* CommonalityConnection: With Céline. Despite how differently they carry themselves, they have ''very'' similar backgrounds, and as a result they both understand the stresses that the other goes through, to the point that they outright complete each other's sentences in their A support.
* {{Expy}}: Of Claude from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemThreeHouses''. A charming and irreverent archer hailing from Middle Eastern FantasyCounterpartCulture who turns out to be a GuileHero and have a lot more HiddenDepths than he's willing to freely share, yet hides it all behind his StepfordSmiler attitude while at the same time being a genuinely friendly guy and [[NiceGuy kind-hearted guy]] all around.
* ExpyCoexistence: Clearly based on Claude, and he can equip the Bracelet of the Three Houses which contains Emblem Claude. His Bond Conversation with the Emblem of Rivals is also with Claude.
* FragileSpeedster: Fogado has a fantastic Speed growth, but his Strength is below average. Though he actually has a decent magic growth of 30 in Cupido, giving him a niche as a Radiant Bow user.
* GuileHero: He is more clever than his laid back personality would suggest. His first act is actually to deceive Alear, but he admittedly does that as a SecretTest, to make sure they are actually the Divine Dragon and not a spy posing as them.

* ImpliedDeathThreat: A mutual and oddly friendly example in his A support with Céline. They both make it clear that neither of them would hesitate to use violence against the other if it meant protecting their countries and loved ones, which is why they agree that it would be in their best interest to stay friends with each other.

* MyBelovedSmother: PlayedForLaughs: When talking about Seforia he will refer to her as "The Queen", when he does so within earshot of her however she scolds him for not calling her ''mom'' and compares him to a teenager trying to appear cool and detached.

* OhCrap: [[spoiler: When his alternate counterpart gleefully declares his intention to KillAndReplace him, his expression instantly shifts from uncomfortable to shocked.]]
* PlotArmor: In Classic mode, he won't die if his HP drops to 0, due to his story presence being necessary in certain cutscenes, namely to escort Alear and co. to Solm Palace. After he fulfills this purpose however, he is then fair game for permadeath should he fall.

* RecurringElement: Fogado is the game's mounted Archer and the last un-promoted one you get, just like Rath from [[VideoGame/FireEmblemTheBlazingBlade FE7]]. He even hides his pedigree like Rath does, though not for very long.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: As a member of The Sentinels he constantly patrols Solm in order to protect the people of his kingdom and this attitude continues once his joins the main heroes on Somniel. In fact, several of his Support Conversation (particularly Hortensia's) show just how seriously he takes his role as a member of The Sentinels and his role as a protector of the people.

* CommonalityConnection: With Chloe, they both became royal knights of their respective nations sworn to the service of their nation's princess by unknowingly saving the life of their princess who was in disguise at the time. They both acknowledge and bond over this experience.
* DorkKnight: She looks intimidating riding around on a giant wolf, but her dialogue reveal a rather endearing desire with looking cool and will sometimes praise herself after she gets a kill because she looked cool while doing it.

* TheKnightsWhoSaySquee: Not as exaggerated as, say, Framme, but Merrin is utterly delighted to find herself an ally of the Divine Dragon--albeit more so for the 'Dragon' part than the 'Divine.'

* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: She's the Masculine Girl to Rosado's Feminine Boy. In their Supports they compete with each other on deciding whether cool or cute is the better style.

* WeakButSkilled: Merrin's growths favor Dexterity and Speed, amplified by her starting class of Wolf Knight boosting said growths, but her Strength is pretty low. Her high Speed and Dexterity allow her to use skills consistently though, and she's one of the fastest units in the game, so she can double enemies often to make up for her low Strength. Her low Build growth can make her choice in weapons difficult, but with her high Speed, she can potentially ignore it.
* WhatTheHellHero: On the receiving end in her bond conversation with Dimitri. When she says she would gladly lay down her life for her princess, he snaps at her that death is not a virtue. In their A bond conversation, they both apologize and she agrees that as a knight she should strive to continue to live and serve instead.

* {{Expy}}: Of Charlotte from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemFates'', being an axe-wielding girl with a seemingly demure demeanor, but has a much more crude and rowdy true personality.

* GlassCannon: Panette has incredible Strength, and her HP grows quite quickly thanks to her Berserker class, though her Dexterity and Speed growths are below average, and her Defense and Resistance are both quite low. Must run in the family, considering that her brother is in the same boat.

* IWillFindYou: Panette and her parents didn't exactly part ways on the best of terms, yet Panette expresses the desire in her A Supports with Alear and Pandreo to track down her parents and, if possible, repair their relationship. It's said [[WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue in her solo ending]] that Panette went looking for them, but never managed to find them.
* ItRunsInTheFamily: In her S-support with Alear, Panette is scared of this trope applying to her. Apparently her parents had an awful marriage and kept fighting with each other constantly, so she's afraid [[spoiler:the same will happen if she starts a romantic relationship with Alear.]] However, Alear manages to convince her that she doesn't need to repeat the same patterns her parents did.

* LostInTranslation: Panette tries to talk in a polite and high-class manner in both the Japanese and English versions of the game. However, she's actually very ''bad'' at this in the Japanese dialogue, frequently butchering words and messing up proper sentence structure. It's still somewhat present in the English dialogue[[note]]Her frequent use of the word "verily" strongly gives the impression of someone trying way too hard to sound formal[[/note]], but it's far less apparent owing to the linguistic differences between English and Japanese.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: She uses the default female model instead of the muscular one characters like Etie use. Even if she did, her muscles still wouldn't compare to all the very muscular men in the army despite the fact she leaves them all in the dust with her Strength growth.

* OohMeAccentsSlipping: Panette tries her best to talk in a refined and high-class manner, but lets old way of speaking slip out in combat and in her supports with Yunaka and Etie. In her supports with Pandreo she drops the high-class accent altogether.
* ParentalNeglect: Her and Pandreo's parents never bothered with actually raising their kids, causing Panette to run away. For what it's worth, though, they at least ''tried'' to find Panette after she left.

* PetTheDog: Panette's parents were pretty bad people based on how both Panette and Pandreo describe them. However they ''did'' try to find Panette after she ran away, showing that they did care about their kids on at least some level, although Pandreo notes that they may have only done it for the sake of keeping up appearances.
* PintsizePowerhouse: A small, petite girl who has one of the highest inate Strength growths in the game.[[note]]45 percent, tied with Rosado and Amber and only second to Madeline's 50.[[/note]]

* SiblingYinYang: Despite the two of them growing up in the same home, Panette and Pandreo led very different lives. Panette, fed up with their parents' neglect, ran away from home while Pandreo stayed behind and ended up taking charge of his mother's congregation after she disappeared. Panette tries her hardest to put on a formal and polite demeanor but at the same time is very aggressive underneath. Pandreo, on the other hand, is an excitable party animal but at the same time is a very devout clergyman underneath. Panette is no stranger to violence at all while Pandreo is uncomfortable fighting others. In spite of their differences, however, it's clear that they care deeply about each other and both of them are proud of the life that the other has led.

* BadassPreacher: He's a fervent church leader in addition to being a skilled combat mage and retainer to prince Fogado. Though he'll occasionally remark post-battle about the irony of a man of the cloth becoming adept at taking lives.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Others frequently mistake him for being a priest in name only who simply uses his congregation as an excuse to party, but he genuinely is a devout follower of Alear and believes celebrating life is the best way to show his appreciation for his deity.

* CriticProof: In-universe example. Pandreo is ''far'' from a conventional priest, frequently holding raves with his congregation. This attracts quite a bit of criticism from church officials but the general public loves it.
* CynicIdealistDuo: It's subtle, but Pandreo and his sister have different perspectives on faith. Panette is pretty jaded towards religion in general, taking issue with Pandreo working for the church in their C support. Pandreo on the other hand is a deeply devout, if ''very'' unconventional, priest whose faith kept him going after their parents disappeared.
* DivineDate: Despite the out there nature of a romance between a priest and a deity, Pandreo can be S-Supported by Alear. And unlike some of the other S-Supports, it's explicitly romantic in the English localization.

* {{Expy}}: Of [[VideoGame/FireEmblemTheBindingBlade Saul]] as they're both unconventional priests who are genuinely faithful underneath, although Pandreo clearly takes his job a lot more seriously than Saul does.

* GlassCannon: If reclassed in Sage or Mage Knight, Pandreo will become a very powerful spellcaster, being one of the few mages in Maddening able to double with Bolganone without needing any additional skills or engravings. With that being said, however, Pandreo is also very fragile, as his base defense is pretty low and his defense growth is tied with Yunaka's as the lowest in the game. This is a trait he shares with his sister, funnily enough.

* RecurringElement: As the game's first pre-promoted magic-user and a [[BoringButPractical perfectly-serviceable unit for the role]], Pandreo fits the series' Wendell archetype. "Wendells" are generally either teachers or leaders, and Pandreo fits into the latter group as a priest.

* WhatIfGodWasOneOfUs: The main conflict of his support with Alear, who turns down Pandreo's invitation to party with him citing worries that the Divine Dragon might not live up to the image in people's heads if they met with their deity in person. Pandreo counters that it will make Alear seem more approachable and put the attendees' minds at ease to see that the Divine Dragon isn't so different from them.

* BestFriend: He has been best friends with Fogado since they were kids, and their supports focus on rekindling that since after becoming his retainer he has been treating him much more formally to reflect his responsibility to him.

* EveryoneHasStandards: He may be willing to taste various bizarre things, there are some things that he is uncertain to try or cook, such as folk food, which Chloé tries to get him to do in their Supports.
* ExtremeOmnivore: Bunet likes to taste many things, which include flowers, rocks, and even ''metal'' and ''marble.'' He's not above asking his allies if he can taste something they have that isn't exactly edible (e.g. Jade's armor and Alear's clothes), in which they firmly decline. He also wants to taste Celica's ring and Lucina's Falchion, to their horror and disgust, respectively. He even considered wanting to taste ''boiling hot lava'', though he later remarked it might not be a good idea.
* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: While Bunet's personal skill ''Seconds?'' sounds useless, it's potentially quite helpful if one combines it with Celica's ''Favorite Food'' which fully restores the Engage meter after consuming a packed lunch. Bunet's personal skill would easily be one of the best in the game if not for the fact that it's RNG-based.

* OvershadowedByAwesome: Perhaps the character hit the hardest by it. Bunet is perfectly usable, but he's significantly overshadowed by the units who join around the same time as him[[note]]He joins one chapter after Ivy, Zelkov, and Kagetsu, in the same chapter as Fogado and Pandreo, and one chapter before Timerra, Panette, and Merrin. All 8 of these characters are more useful than Bunet at base, with many of them being considered some of the best units in the whole game[[/note]]. To make matters worse, this is a point in the game when you don't have many deployment slots and [[spoiler:can't use or inherit any skills from the first 6 emblem rings]].

* SeriousBusiness: Cooking. Bunet wholeheartedly seeks to improve his culinary skill, which can veer him into rather strange behavior at points.
* StoneWall: Bunet's Speed growth is low on its own, not helped by the Great Knight not providing any either, but his Defense growth is extremely high, making it easy for him to tank physical hits. His Strength growth, while not bad, is below average as well, meaning he can often just tank enemies for allies but not do a lot of damage back.

* WeaksauceWeakness: As a Great Knight, Bunet is considered both Mounted ''and'' Armored, and thus has both of their weaknesses. Fortunately these don't stack, so he's not ''extra''-screwed when fighting one of the many Emblems with Rapiers.

A renowned dancer from Solm, who's good at reading fortunes. He has a glamorous charm and a mysterious air. Sometimes, he says spiteful things, but he's especially kind to those he's fond of. He loves honey more than anyone in the army.\\\

* ShipTease: With Yunaka in their A Support. After being chosen for the lead role in Seadall's performance, Yunaka gets stage fright but calms down when Seadall holds her hand and tells her that he trusts her. Furthermore if you beat the game with both Yunaka and Seadall alive [[spoiler:you see [[WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue a CG during the credits]] showing that they kept doing their performance duo after the events of the game]].

* GenkiGirl: Timerra is a free-spirited young woman with an energetic love for life.
* GoodIsNotSoft: Despite being friendly and easygoing she's noted to show no mercy to her foes.

* HiddenDepths: While very much a free spirit, Timerra is a lot more perceptive and intelligent than one might initially think. In her A support with Ivy, Timerra confesses that the real reason she approached Ivy to go on a camping trip was to probe for weaknesses that could give her an edge in the future ''and'' was able to recognize that Ivy had the exact same motive when she agreed to Timerra's offer[[note]]Or for another example, in her support with Panette, Timerra makes it clear that she didn't choose Panette as her retainer on any kind of random whim, but instead because Timerra was able to recognize Panette as someone who genuinely could be trusted in a position like that.[[/note]]. Timerra ''is'' the crown princess at the end of the day and needs to be able to deal with all the responsibilities that come with that.
* KingIncognito: Despite being the country's crown princess, Timerra frequently hangs around the people of Solm under the guise of just another commoner. She actually became friends with her retainers like this; they didn't even know she was royalty until ''after'' she knighted them.
* LightFeminineDarkFeminine: The light feminine to Ivy's dark feminine. Timerra is a very cheery and outgoing person who wears a bright colorful wardrobe, while Ivy is melancholy and introverted and dons dark, dreary outfits. Ironically their skin complexions directly contrast the portions of the trope they represent, with the light feminine Timerra being dark-skinned and the dark feminine Ivy being pale-skinned.
* MasterOfNone: Her Sentinel and Picket class focus on very general boosts to her growths (save Magic), which are already around the average range, but don't boost them enough to make her a JackOfAllStats. The result is that Timerra, if left to only her unique classes, can end up not having her stats end up being good enough in any area to make her viable as time goes on. Moving her to other classes can better ensure she remains consistent enough to avoid this, but due to her growths being below average in most areas, she can end up still being not good at any one role.
