Fixed some grammar. Removed Fogado's 'expy coexistence' and 'expy' tropes, given that Engage was developed around the same time as Three Houses and AFAIK there's no proof he was *actually* inspired by Claude.

** While it's never actually visited in the game, Pale Sands (The closed-off region of Solm that Kagetsu hails from) is a very obvious {{Expy}} of feudal Japan.
* TheGhost: Timerra's and Fogado's father is mentioned to still be alive and that he simply likes to travel around Solm like they do, but he never appears in-game. [[spoiler:This actually makes Timerra and Fogado the only royals ''without'' a dead dad by the end of the game]].
* GratuitousItalian: Downplayed, but there are minimal Italian influences. For starters, every character originating from Solm is named after an Italian dessert and Italian cuisine is present in Solm's section of the menu in the cafe. Timerra and Fogado will occasionally greet Alear with "Ciao" in their respective wake up events with the former even saying it as her select quote in battle.
* {{Matriarchy}}: In their nation, it is customary that the throne passes to the first princess instead of the first prince (and the queen's husband has the title of "Queen's Consort"). Downplayed in that there is no sign that women are otherwise preferred for positions of power; instead, the nation is known mostly for being very open-minded.

* WeakButSkilled: Merrin's growths favor Dexterity and Speed, amplified by her starting class of Wolf Knight boosting said growths, but her Strength is pretty low. Her high Speed and Dexterity allow her to use skills consistently though, and she's one of the fastest units in the game, so she can double enemies often to make up for her low Strength. Her low Build growth can make her choice in weapons difficult, but with her high Speed, she can potentially ignore it.

With that being said, however, Pandreo is also very fragile, as his base defense is pretty low and his defense growth is tied with Yunaka's as the lowest in the game. This is a trait he shares with his sister, funnily enough.

* EveryoneHasStandards: He may be willing to taste various bizarre things, there are some things that he is uncertain to try or cook, such as folk food, which Chloé tries to get him to do in their Supports.
* ExtremeOmnivore: Bunet likes to taste many things, which include flowers, rocks, and even ''metal'' and ''marble.'' He's not above asking his allies if he can taste something they have that isn't exactly edible (e.g. Jade's armor and Alear's clothes), in which they firmly decline. He also wants to taste Celica's ring and Lucina's Falchion, to their horror and disgust, respectively. He even considered wanting to taste ''boiling hot lava'', though he later remarked it might not be a good idea.
* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: While Bunet's personal skill ''Seconds?'' sounds useless, it's potentially quite helpful if one combines it with Celica's ''Favorite Food'' which fully restores the Engage meter after consuming a packed lunch. Bunet's personal skill would easily be one of the best in the game if not for the fact that it's RNG-based.

* SeriousBusiness: Cooking. Bunet wholeheartedly seeks to improve his culinary skill, which can veer him into rather strange behavior at points.
* StoneWall: Bunet's Speed growth is low on its own, not helped by the Great Knight not providing any either, but his Defense growth is extremely high, making it easy for him to tank physical hits. His Strength growth, while not bad, is below average as well, meaning he can often just tank enemies for allies but not do a lot of damage back.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: Solm may be known as an open-minded and friendly nation, but they're not above sending out scouts to spy on the other three countries, and generally refuse to involve themselves in those nation's matters unless the situation absolutely calls for it (i.e. Sombron's return). As they see it, helping or being helped by another nation is simply cause for debts they don't want to be bound by. Summed up by Timerra:
-->'''Timerra''': You scratch your back, we'll scratch ours. Thank you very much.
* CultureChopSuey: The [[{{Qurac}} desert setting and general architecture]] of Solm very clearly draw on Middle Eastern cultures, but the character designs actually take inspiration from Latin American cultures, and the Solmic characters are all named after Italian foods. Furthermore, Kagetsu hails from a closed-off region of Solm known as Pale Sands which, if Kagetsu's [[{{Samurai}} appearance]] is anything to go by, is very clearly inspired by Japan.
* DebtDetester: In a sense, as Timerra notes that they're reluctant to get involved with other nations, and so will not ask for others' help lest they be obligated to help in return.
* EdibleThemeNaming: Many of them are named after different types of primarily Italian desserts:
** Seforia is named after sfoglia, a puff pastry.
** Timerra is named after tiramisu (though this is more notable with her Japanese name, Misutira).
** Fogado is named after affogato.
** Pandreo and Panette are respectively named after pandoro and panettone (two types of sweet breads/cakes usually eaten for Christmas).
** Seadall is named after seadas, a Sardinian dessert filled with pecorino cheese and coated in honey (in fact, his Japanese name ''is'' Seadas).
** Merrin's name could be derived from meringues.
** Bunet is named after bonèt.
* EverybodyKnewAlready: When Alear tells them news of Sombron's return, Timerra casually reveals that the queendom already knew about it, namely from the intel gathered from their spies.
* ExoticEyeDesigns: The Solmic royals all have starburst-shaped pupils. A Bond Conversation between Timerra and Lucina (where she points out the mark of the Exalt in Lucina's pupil) notes that this isn't simply an art choice, the odd pupils are very much real and visible to other people in-universe.
* FantasyCounterpartCulture: [[https://twitter.com/MikaPikaZo/status/1615919288396976130?s=20&t=T6zFm5Tm81rVreH77t22iw According to character designer Mika Pikazo]], the designs for the Solmic characters draw a lot of inspiration from Latin American cultures[[note]]The fact that Mika Pikazo lived in Brazil for much of her life might have something to do with it[[/note]].
** While it's never actually visited in the game, Pale Sands (The closed-off region of Solm that Kagetsu hails from) is a very obvious {{Expy}} of feudal Japan.
* TheGhost: Timerra's and Fogado's father is mentioned to still be alive, but he never appears in-game. [[spoiler:This actually makes Timerra and Fogado the only royals ''without'' a dead dad]].
* {{Qurac}}: The kingdom draws inspiration from Middle Eastern countries with its architecture and desert setting.
* ShiftingSandLand: Solm is a desert nation, complete with pits of quicksand and oases.

The queen of Solm, and Timerra and Fogado's mother.
----
* BewareTheNiceOnes: She's kind and laid-back for the most part, but shows a more forceful and stern side when dealing with Hortensia, who'd threatened to kill her. She also readily and smoothly lies to the party about her knowledge of the war and Sombron's return until Fogado and Timerra decide its beneficial to reveal the truth.
* BodyDouble: She notes that she has a few of her people ready to assume her identity for a time should a situation ever become so dire that she has to abandon the palace and wander the land incognito.
* GoodParents: Seforia is quite loving and doting towards her children, and lets them have plenty of freedom.
* HandsOffParenting: Downplayed. Seforia is still quite loving towards her kids, and doesn't mind that they're usually away from the palace for several days, reminiscing how she did the same thing when she was their age.
* TheHighQueen: The kind, benevolent queen of Solm, who treats all of her subordinates, including the palace guards, like family.
* ParentalTitleCharacterization: On the receiving end of this, since the fact that her children call her "Mom" instead of "Mother" or "the queen" says a lot about the kind of parent Seforia is. In fact, Seforia even scolds her son for trying to act ''too'' formal with her.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: She's every bit as eccentric, upbeat, fun-loving, and friendly as her son and daughter.

The crown princess of Solm and the older sister of Fogado, Timerra grew up in a free spring, while receiving education to be the next Queen of Solm.\\\
Her personal skill, ''Racket of Solm'', reduces the Critical chance of all enemy units within three tiles near Timerra by -5.
----
* ArmorIsUseless: Timerra wears little clothing and her best stat is her Defense. Picket's class skill, Sandstorm, even grants Defense-based damage.
* BadassAdorable: Timerra is a spunky and cute young lady, and is a highly formidable fighter with a lance.
* BigEater: She can eat a lot, with Alear finding her eating a massive meal in her C Support that they think is initially for both of them.
* BlondeBrunetteRedhead: The Brunette to Merrin's Blonde and Pannette's Redhead.
* CriticalHitClass: Timerra's personal class, Picket, gives her a Dexterity percent chance to deal to replace Strength with 1.5 times her Defense in damage calculation. What this effectively means is that Timerra has a decently-high[[note]]Timerra starts with either 18 or 19 Dexterity when promoted, and Picket has a Dexterity cap of 47. With personal modifiers, it's 50.[[/note]] chance to deal a significant amount of additional damage each attack ''in addition to'' any pre-existing chance to land a critical hit. Furthermore, Sandstorm can still proc for each individual attack when using skills like Lyn's Astra or Leif's Quadruple Hit. This is ''also'' true for AOE attacks like Ike's Great Aether or Roy's Blazing Lion.
* CuteButCacophonic: She likes to sing, but judging by how she's known as the "Racket of Solm", reception to her singing seems to be... mixed. It's also her personal skill, reducing the critical rate of all enemies within 3 spaces by 5.
* DubNameChange: In Japanese, her name is Misutira, an anagram of the dessert she is named after.
* ExoticEyeDesigns: Timerra has star-shaped irises.
* GenkiGirl: Timerra is a free-spirited young woman with an energetic love for life.
* GoodIsNotSoft: Despite being friendly and easygoing she's noted to show no mercy to her foes.
* GuysSmashGirlsShoot: Inverted. They share the base class of Sentinel, but Timerra fights with lances while Fogado fights with bows. Although it's somewhat downplayed since Fogado's unique promoted class, Cupido, gives him access to swords.
* HiddenDepths: While very much a free spirit, Timerra is a lot more perceptive and intelligent than one might initially think. In her A support with Ivy, Timerra confesses that the real reason she approached Ivy to go on a camping trip was to probe for weaknesses that could give her an edge in the future ''and'' was able to recognize that Ivy had the exact same motive when she agreed to Timerra's offer[[note]]Or for another example, in her support with Panette, Timerra makes it clear that she didn't choose Panette as her retainer on any kind of random whim, but instead because Timerra was able to recognize Panette as someone who genuinely could be trusted in a position like that.[[/note]]. Timerra ''is'' the crown princess at the end of the day and needs to be able to deal with all the responsibilities that come with that.
* KingIncognito: Despite being the country's crown princess, Timerra frequently hangs around the people of Solm under the guise of just another commoner. She actually became friends with her retainers like this; they didn't even know she was royalty until ''after'' she knighted them.
* LightFeminineDarkFeminine: The light feminine to Ivy's dark feminine. Timerra is a very cheery and outgoing person who wears a bright colorful wardrobe, while Ivy is melancholy and introverted and dons dark, dreary outfits. Ironically their skin complexions directly contrast the portions of the trope they represent, with the light feminine Timerra being dark-skinned and the dark feminine Ivy being pale-skinned.
* MasterOfNone: Her Sentinel and Picket class focus on very general boosts to her growths (save Magic), which are already around the average range, but don't boost them enough to make her a JackOfAllStats. The result is that Timerra, if left to only her unique classes, can end up not having her stats end up being good enough in any area to make her viable as time goes on. Moving her to other classes can better ensure she remains consistent enough to avoid this, but due to her growths being below average in most areas, she can end up still being not good at any one role.
* MathematiciansAnswer: When she's asked how she plans on eating all the meat she's made, she says, "Oh, you know. Open my mouth, bite, chew."
* OddFriendship: She, an outgoing and outdoorsy girl, befriends Ivy, a more reserved and studious princess, in their supports. Ivy notes that they're practically polar opposites.
* OutdoorsyGal: She's a free-spirited young girl with a love of sleeping outdoors, to the point where she spends more time roaming around Solm than staying in the castle.
* PinkIsFeminine: Most of her clothes, whether if it's her Sominiel outfits or class outfits, are predominantly pink.
* PlotArmor: In Classic mode, she won't die if her HP drops to 0, due to her story presence being necessary in certain cutscenes.
* PreMortemOneLiner:
-->''"Let's have some fun!"''\\
''"So gonna crush you!"''\\
''"Bye bye now!"''\\
''"I don't do mercy."''
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Takes it upon herself to take on bandits in order to keep her country safe.
* StoneWall: Timerra has good growths in Dexterity, Speed, and Defense, but her Strength growth is below average, and her Build growth is terrible, meaning she can't use a lot of weapons without suffering huge decreases in Speed. Her unique Picket class gives her Sandstorm though, which lets her calculate her damage using her Defense instead of Strength, meaning if she gets good levels in her Defense stat, she can rely on her Defense stat to simply tank attacks while dishing out damage.
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Her default outfit exposes a lot of skin. Justified, as her support with Framme has Timerra state that Solm is a very hot country, so she has to wear less to keep herself from suffering a heat stroke.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Timerra is the Girly Girl to both Merrin and Panette's Tomboy. Merrin is an androgynous-looking young woman with a deeper voice who regularly acts like a gentleman to other women. Panette is a (secret) brute who dislikes all things cute, likes collecting bugs, and prefers her clothes with a few wear and tears. Timerra is a joyful princess who wears pink and loves fashion and jewelry.

The second prince of the Kingdom of Solm, and Timerra's younger brother. Because the Queen inherits the throne, he grew up even more freely than his sister and he's optimistic and easy-going. It seems he's traveling the country to protect his people.\\\
His personal skill, ''Charmer'', reduces an enemy unit's Critical chance by -10 if Fogado enters combat with his most recent opponent.
----
* BigBrotherInstinct: In his case it's more Little Brother Instinct. It's especially poignant in his Support Conversation with Céline, where he notes that in order to back up his older sister in everyway he can he trained himself to be stronger, more capable and more [[GoodIsNotSoft pragmatic]] than Timerra. Both he and Céline note with wry amusement that on that level they are [[CommonalityConnection not so different, and in order to back up their older siblings, both of them learned to be a lot more ruthless than them, and both are utterly at ease with such actions.]]
* BigLittleBrother: He's noticeably taller than Timerra despite being one year younger than her, standing at 5'10" to his sister's 5'3".
* CommonalityConnection: With Céline. Despite how differently they carry themselves, they have ''very'' similar backgrounds, and as a result they both understand the stresses that the other goes through, to the point that they outright complete each other's sentences in their A support.
* {{Expy}}: Of Claude from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemThreeHouses''. A charming and irreverent archer hailing from Middle Eastern FantasyCounterpartCulture who turns out to be a GuileHero and have a lot more HiddenDepths than he's willing to freely share, yet hides it all behind his StepfordSmiler attitude while at the same time being a genuinely friendly guy and [[NiceGuy kind-hearted guy]] all around.
* FragileSpeedster: Fogado has a fantastic Speed growth, but his Strength is below average. Though he actually has a decent magic growth of 30 in Cupido, giving him a niche as a Radiant Bow user.
* GuileHero: He is more clever than his laid back personality would suggest. His first act is actually to deceive Alear, but he admittedly does that as a SecretTest, to make sure they are actually the Divine Dragon and not a spy posing as them.
* GuysSmashGirlsShoot: Inverted. They share the base class of Sentinel, but Timerra fights with lances while Fogado fights with bows. Although it's somewhat downplayed since Fogado's unique promoted class, Cupido, gives him access to swords.
* HandsomeLech: Invoked. Fogado has a reputation for being a flirt, as shown in his supports with Hortensia, but there's frequently some ulterior motive involved. Céline sees right through his flirty demeanor in their supports and instantly deduces that he's trying to probe her for royal secrets.
* ImpliedDeathThreat: A mutual and oddly friendly example in his A support with Céline. They both make it clear that neither of them would hesitate to use violence against the other if it meant protecting their countries and loved ones, which is why they agree that it would be in their best interest to stay friends with each other.
-->'''Fogado''': Good. Each of us knows what a monster the other can be.\\
'''Céline''': It’s for that reason that I see any path putting us in conflict with Solm as risky indeed.\\
'''Fogado''': In that case, let’s stay friends.\\
'''Céline''': May we find a path forward. Together.
* KingIncognito: He meets the party when they arrive to Solm under the guise of an everyday patrolman in order to confirm whether Alear is actually the Divine Dragon, not revealing his true identity until after they arrive at the palace. And similar to how Timerra met her retainers, Fogado became friends with Pandreo without the latter knowing of his identity as a prince.
* MyBelovedSmother: PlayedForLaughs: When talking about Seforia he will refer to her as "The Queen", when he does so within earshot of her however she scolds him for not calling her ''mom'' and compares him to a teenager trying to appear cool and detached.
-->'''Fogado:''' I was just doing what any prince would do for his queen.\\
'''Seforia:''' That's ''"Mom"'' to you. My son--always tries to act so cool, so detached.
* NotDistractedByTheSexy: PlayedForLaughs in his C support with Rosado.
-->'''Fogado''': All right. You are… How to put it? As lovely as a delicate blossom in a Solmic Oasis.\\
'''Rosado''': That’s a little better. So, am I the cutest you’ve ever seen?\\
'''Fogado''': Hm? Oh, no. Definitely not.\\
'''Rosado''': [[FlatWhat What]]?
* PlotArmor: In Classic mode, he won't die if his HP drops to 0, due to his story presence being necessary in certain cutscenes, namely to escort Alear and co. to Solm Palace. After he fulfills this purpose however, he is then fair game for permadeath should he fall.
* PreMortemOneLiner:
-->''"Time to party!"''\\
''"Let's have some fun!"''\\
''"Just how I like it!"''\\
''"No escape for you!"''
* RecurringElement: Fogado is the game's mounted Archer and the last un-promoted one you get, just like Rath from [[VideoGame/FireEmblemTheBlazingBlade FE7]]. He even hides his pedigree like Rath does, though not for very long.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: As a member of The Sentinels he constantly patrols Solm in order to protect the people of his kingdom and this attitude continues once his joins the main heroes on Somniel. In fact, several of his Support Conversation (particularly Hortensia's) show just how seriously he takes his role as a member of The Sentinels and his role as a protector of the people.
* StepfordSmiler: While Fogado puts on a happy-go-lucky act, he's constantly worried for the well-being of those around him. He mainly plays into the act so that others won't be disheartened at seeing their prince show vulnerability. Although a number of characters (Such as Céline or Pandreo) manage to see through it.
* TallDarkAndHandsome: He's tall, has dark skin and hair, and he's incredibly handsome to boot.
* TwinkleSmile: Flashes one at the end of his introductory cutscene to emphasize his charming personality.

Merrin is a royal knight from Solm, and Timerra's retainer. She's a knight with a fresh and extravagant vibe, who tries to look good every day. Loves all animals, especially rare beasts, and gets fully immersed when seeing them.\\\
Her personal skill, ''Knightly Escort'', gives +5 Accuracy and Avoid to Merrin and two female allies if they are within two spaces near her.
----
* AnimalLover: Merrin is stated to love all kinds of animals, with special mention going to rare beasts.
* {{Bifauxnen}}: She's fairly androgynous looking with a low and Tomboyish voice, and refers to herself as "[[{{Bokukko}} boku]]". She also flirts with some of the female characters in a distinctly gentlemanly fashion, and other characters admire her for her cool and knightly demeanor.
* BoyishShortHair: Wears her hair extremely short.
* CasualDangerDialogue: She likes to make up monologues and witty things to say during battle. Yunaka is not pleased, [[NotAGame to say the least.]]
* CommonalityConnection: With Chloe, they both became royal knights of their respective nations sworn to the service of their nation's princess by unknowingly saving the life of their princess who was in disguise at the time. They both acknowledge and bond over this experience.
* DorkKnight: She looks intimidating riding around on a giant wolf, but her dialogue reveal a rather endearing desire with looking cool and will sometimes praise herself after she gets a kill because she looked cool while doing it.
-->"That was ''cool,'' was it not?"
* IdiotHair: She sports an ahoge on the top of her head.
* TheKnightsWhoSaySquee: Not as exaggerated as, say, Framme, but Merrin is utterly delighted to find herself an ally of the Divine Dragon--albeit more so for the 'Dragon' part than the 'Divine.'
* LadyLooksLikeADude: Thanks to her physique and short hair contributing to her rather androgynous look.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: She's the Masculine Girl to Rosado's Feminine Boy. In their Supports they compete with each other on deciding whether cool or cute is the better style.
* PreMortemOneLiner:
-->''"Let's have some fun!"''\\
''"Farewell to you!"''\\
''"Now I'm mad!"''\\
''"I will strike you down!"''
* RebelliousPrincess: While not royalty, Merrin was next in line to take her mother's place as the matriarch of her village. Not wanting to lead that life, she ran away into the desert. By chance, she befriended a free-spirited young woman riding on a wolf. After spending some time together, Merrin told the young woman her life story and explained that her lifelong dream was to become a knight, but her background made that impossible. The young woman then asked Merrin if she really, truly wanted to become a knight. When Merrin said yes, the woman took out her sword and knighted Merrin right then and there. As it turns out, the young woman was in truth the crown princess Timerra, and Merrin has been in her service ever since.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Timerra. Not only did Timerra's free-spirited nature win her over, but she turned Merrin's dream of becoming a knight into a reality.

A royal knight from Solm, one of Timerra's retainers, and Pandreo's little sister. She's extremely polite with her words. Despite her refined manners, she has unique tastes, such as a fondness of ghosts and insects.\\\
Her personal skill, ''Blood Fury'', gives Panette an extra +10 Critical chance whenever she's not at full HP.
----
* AffectionateNickname: Despite Panette's efforts to act the part of a proper lady, she rather informally refers to Timerra as "the boss."
* BarbarianHero: Panette's starting class is Berserker and, despite her best efforts, she has a lot of trouble fitting into high-class society.
* BeneathTheMask: If her personal skill being called ''Blood Fury'' didn't tip you off, Panette's polite, ladylike demeanor is entirely an act that she puts on because she believes that her real, punk-like personality would humiliate the royal family.
* CommonalityConnection: With Amber. The two of them are both considered oddballs in their own right, so they find quite a bit to bond over.
* CriticalHitClass: Her personal skill, Blood Fury, boosts her critical rate by 10 when she's below full HP.
* CynicIdealistDuo: It's subtle, but Panette and her brother have different perspectives on faith. Panette is pretty jaded towards religion in general, taking issue with Pandreo working for the church in their C support. Pandreo on the other hand is a deeply devout, if ''very'' unconventional, priest whose faith kept him going after their parents disappeared.
* DeclarationOfProtection: Makes one to Pandreo in their A support.
-->'''Pandreo''': Panette, listen. I need you to survive this war. I... I can’t bear to lose any more of my family.\\
'''Panette''': Duh. I’m not gonna go dying on you. In fact, I’ll do you one better. I’ll save your priestly hide too.
* DubNameChange: Her Japanese name is Panettone, the very dessert she is named after.
* {{Expy}}: Of Charlotte from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemFates'', being an axe-wielding girl with a seemingly demure demeanor, but has a much more crude and rowdy true personality.
* FamilyThemeNaming: She and her brother Pandreo are named after two Italian Christmas desserts: panettone and pandoro.
* FedToTheBeast: Panette met Timerra while the former was about to feed a group of tied-up bandits to wild wolves, although Panette insists she was just trying to give them a scare.
* FieryRedhead: She's a redhead who's very aggressive in battle.
* FormerTeenRebel: Panette used to be a drifter with a lot of pent-up anger at the world, but decided to adopt a more high-class manner of language and behavior after befriending Timerra. It's actually subverted, as she's still just as HotBlooded as she used to be underneath.
* GirlWithPsychoWeapon: Panette dresses and acts in a refined manner, but she starts out as an axe-wielding Berserker.
* GlasgowGrin: She has tattoos on either side of her mouth that seem to go in the same direction as her current expression.
* GlassCannon: Panette has incredible Strength, and her HP grows quite quickly thanks to her Berserker class, though her Dexterity and Speed growths are below average, and her Defense and Resistance are both quite low. Must run in the family, considering that her brother is in the same boat.
* GuysSmashGirlsShoot: Inverted; she's the close-range, axe-wielding Berserker to her older brother's long-range, spellcasting High Priest.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: The entire reason why Panette tries so hard to put on the act of a proper lady. Panette's a former punk who, after [[KingIncognito unknowingly]] befriending Timerra, was offered to become her retainer. Panette, wanting to repay Timerra's kindness and insecure if "someone like her" deserves such a position, began to make an active effort to look and act in a manner expected of a retainer.
* IWillFindYou: Panette and her parents didn't exactly part ways on the best of terms, yet Panette expresses the desire in her A Supports with Alear and Pandreo to track down her parents and, if possible, repair their relationship. It's said [[WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue in her solo ending]] that Panette went looking for them, but never managed to find them.
* ItRunsInTheFamily: In her S-support with Alear, Panette is scared of this trope applying to her. Apparently her parents had an awful marriage and kept fighting with each other constantly, so she's afraid [[spoiler:the same will happen if she starts a romantic relationship with Alear.]] However, Alear manages to convince her that she doesn't need to repeat the same patterns her parents did.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: According to Timerra, Panette used to be an incredibly wild and violent girl, yet was undeniably a good person underneath.
* {{Keigo}}: In the original Japanese, Panette often speaks in an extremely formal manner.
* LethalChef: Panette isn't exactly the best chef around, as seen in her supports with Goldmary.
* LostInTranslation: Panette tries to talk in a polite and high-class manner in both the Japanese and English versions of the game. However, she's actually very ''bad'' at this in the Japanese dialogue, frequently butchering words and messing up proper sentence structure. It's still somewhat present in the English dialogue[[note]]Her frequent use of the word "verily" strongly gives the impression of someone trying way too hard to sound formal[[/note]], but it's far less apparent owing to the linguistic differences between English and Japanese.
* NightmareFetishist: Panette has a strong fondness for things such as ghosts, scary stories, or ruins. For instance, in her support with Ivy, Panette's idea of a girls' night out is a trip to some supposedly haunted ruins.
* OneDegreeOfSeparation: Unbeknownst to either of them, Pandreo and Panette both befriended a member of Solm's royal family who ended up taking them both under their wind as their retainer. This is actually how the two of them reunited after Panette ran away.
* OohMeAccentsSlipping: Panette tries her best to talk in a refined and high-class manner, but lets old way of speaking slip out in combat and in her supports with Yunaka and Etie. In her supports with Pandreo she drops the high-class accent altogether.
* ParentalNeglect: Her and Pandreo's parents never bothered with actually raising their kids, causing Panette to run away. For what it's worth, though, they at least ''tried'' to find Panette after she left.
* PerkyGoth: Her tastes are gothic (her dark attire, interest in ghosts and bugs, etc.) but she's genuinely polite and upbeat in general.
* PetTheDog: Panette's parents were pretty bad people based on how both Panette and Pandreo describe them. However they ''did'' try to find Panette after she ran away, showing that they did care about their kids on at least some level, although Pandreo notes that they may have only done it for the sake of keeping up appearances.
* PrayerIsALastResort: Despite her general averseness towards religion, if both Pandreo and Merrin die in a chapter, Panette is so beside herself with grief that she prays for their souls to find peace.
* PreMortemOneLiner:
-->''"Let's have some fun!"''\\
''"You looking down on me?!"''\\
''"I'll beat you to a pulp!"''\\
''"I don't play nice."''
* TheRunaway: She ran away from her home after being fed up with her neglectful parents. While on her own, she learned to fight and eventually became Timerra's retainer.
* SiblingYinYang: Despite the two of them growing up in the same home, Panette and Pandreo led very different lives. Panette, fed up with their parents' neglect, ran away from home while Pandreo stayed behind and ended up taking charge of his mother's congregation after she disappeared. Panette tries her hardest to put on a formal and polite demeanor but at the same time is very aggressive underneath. Pandreo, on the other hand, is an excitable party animal but at the same time is a very devout clergyman underneath. Panette is no stranger to violence at all while Pandreo is uncomfortable fighting others. In spite of their differences, however, it's clear that they care deeply about each other and both of them are proud of the life that the other has led.
* TattooAsCharacterType: Reflecting her past life as a punk, Panette has facial tattoos.
* TurnTheOtherCheek: At the end of her support with Pandreo, [[spoiler:Panette says a prayer for their parents' safety. Despite everything that's happened, she tells Pandreo that she hopes they're doing well, wherever they are]].
* UndyingLoyalty: To Timerra, as Timerra took Panette in when she had nowhere else to go and gave her a purpose in life.

A royal knight from Solm, one of Fogado's retainers, and Panette's big brother. Loves having the time of his life. Although he doesn't seem serious, he's actually a very devoted and sincere clergyman.\\\
His personal skill, ''Party Animal'', gives Pandreo a bonus to Accuracy and Avoid equal to three times the number of units within two spaces near him.
----
* BadassPreacher: He's a fervent church leader in addition to being a skilled combat mage and retainer to prince Fogado. Though he'll occasionally remark post-battle about the irony of a man of the cloth becoming adept at taking lives.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Others frequently mistake him for being a priest in name only who simply uses his congregation as an excuse to party, but he genuinely is a devout follower of Alear and believes celebrating life is the best way to show his appreciation for his deity.
* {{Catchphrase}}: He shouts in excitement (Japanese) or howls like a wolf (English) whenever he feels very energetic at the time.
* CrisisOfFaith: If Fogado, Panette, and Bunet all die, Pandreo is at such a loss that he can only beg Alear to tell him if it's for a reason.
* CriticProof: In-universe example. Pandreo is ''far'' from a conventional priest, frequently holding raves with his congregation. This attracts quite a bit of criticism from church officials but the general public loves it.
* CynicIdealistDuo: It's subtle, but Pandreo and his sister have different perspectives on faith. Panette is pretty jaded towards religion in general, taking issue with Pandreo working for the church in their C support. Pandreo on the other hand is a deeply devout, if ''very'' unconventional, priest whose faith kept him going after their parents disappeared.
* DivineDate: Despite the out there nature of a romance between a priest and a deity, Pandreo can be S-Supported by Alear. And unlike some of the other S-Supports, it's explicitly romantic in the English localization.
* DubNameChange: His Japanese name, Pandoro, is the very dessert he is named after.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[VideoGame/FireEmblemTheBindingBlade Saul]] as they're both unconventional priests who are genuinely faithful underneath, although Pandreo clearly takes his job a lot more seriously than Saul does.
* FamilyThemeNaming: He and his sister Panette are named after two Italian Christmas desserts: panettone and pandoro.
* GlassCannon: If reclassed in Sage or Mage Knight, Pandreo will become a very powerful spellcaster, being one of the few mages in Maddening able to double with Bolganone without needing any additional skills or engravings. With that being said, however, Pandreo is also very fragile, as his base defense is pretty low and his defense growth is tied with Yunaka's as the lowest in the game. This is a trait he shares with his sister, funnily enough.
* GoodShepherd: Pandreo is a devout man of the cloth and an all-around great guy. His kindness even goes far beyond what is expected of one in his station, as [[spoiler:Pandreo holds zero animosity towards Mauvier despite the latter being a Fell Dragon worshipper. In their C Support, Pandreo outright offers to pray to their respective gods alongside each other. Even Mauvier is caught off-guard by Pandreo's complete tolerance. And despite Veyle being an actual Fell Dragon, Pandreo shows her nothing but kindness and friendship]].
* GuysSmashGirlsShoot: Inverted; he is the long-range spellcasting High Priest to his younger sister's close-range axe-wielding Berserker, although Pandreo is also capable of fighting with his fists with Body Arts.
* HealThyself: As a High Priest, Pandreo can use healing staves on himself. The convenience of not having to [[LimitedLoadout fill one of his five pockets]] with [[HealingPotion elixirs]] should not be understated.
* HiddenDepths: Despite his general happy-go-lucky attitude, Pandreo is actually rather insecure about his unconventional behavior as a priest. This is the main conflict of his support with Rosado, and it comes up in his A Support with Louis.
* LifeOfTheParty: Oh yes. Despite his occupation, Pandreo's greatest love in life is to party with others. It's even the basis for his personal skill, which buffs his ability to land and avoid hits relative to the number of adjacent allies.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: In his B Support with Alear, Pandreo admits that what stopped him from falling into despair throughout his shitty childhood was his faith in the Divine Dragon.
* NiceGuy: Pandreo is a deeply compassionate guy and a good friend, and many of his supports focus on him helping other people with their issues.
* OddFriendship: With [[spoiler:Mauvier]]. Despite the fact that [[spoiler:Mauvier is a worshipper of the Fell Dragon while Pandreo is a priest of the Divine Dragon]], as well as the fact that the two of them just have very different personalities, they actually become pretty good friends in their support chain.
* OneDegreeOfSeparation: Unbeknownst to either of them, Pandreo and Panette both befriended a member of Solm's royal family. In fact, it was actually Timerra taking Panette in as her retainer that prompted Fogado to tell Pandreo of his true identity, as the latter had been trying desperately to find Panette after she ran away.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Pandreo is normally a very carefree party animal, but in his A Support with Panette he admits that he's scared of losing her like they lost their parents.
* ParentalAbandonment: After Panette ran away at a young age, Pandreo's parents abandoned him, leaving him to take up his mother's congregation in her absence. It's somewhat implied that they left to find Panette, but he never saw them again after that either because they died or just didn't want to come back.
* PreMortemOneLiner:
-->''"Time to party!"''\\
''"Beg for forgiveness!"''\\
''"Repent!"''\\
''"Atone for your sins!"''
* RecurringElement: As the game's first pre-promoted magic-user and a [[BoringButPractical perfectly-serviceable unit for the role]], Pandreo fits the series' Wendell archetype. "Wendells" are generally either teachers or leaders, and Pandreo fits into the latter group as a priest.
* SquishyWizard: Pandreo has great growths in Magic, Resistance, and Luck, but poor Strength and Defense.
* WhatIfGodWasOneOfUs: The main conflict of his support with Alear, who turns down Pandreo's invitation to party with him citing worries that the Divine Dragon might not live up to the image in people's heads if they met with their deity in person. Pandreo counters that it will make Alear seem more approachable and put the attendees' minds at ease to see that the Divine Dragon isn't so different from them.

[[folder:Bunet ''(Bonet)'']]

!!!'''Class:''' Great Knight
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Tomohiro Ono (Japanese), Creator/IanSinclair (English)
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bunetfe17portrait.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''Culinary Artist'']]
A royal knight from Solm, and one of Fogado's retainers. He's a research fanatic who operates on his own wavelength. Has a keen sense of taste and smell, and is a young man who loves to taste everything and anything.\\\
His personal skill, ''Seconds?'', gives Bunet a percentage-based chance (equal to his Luck) of obtaining another packed lunch upon eating one.
----
* BestFriend: He has been best friends with Fogado since they were kids, and their supports focus on rekindling that since after becoming his retainer he has been treating him much more formally to reflect his responsibility to him.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Bunet is a very talented chef, his numerous eccentricities aside.
* CaringGardener: He runs a garden on the side. Both to collect ingredients and because he just genuinely enjoys it.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Bunet is a self-professed eccentric, and he very much lives up to that. Even among the [[RagtagBunchOfMisfits general quirkiness]] of ''Engage's'' cast, Bunet stands out as the oddest of the bunch. This frequently leads to him being misunderstood by other characters, much to his dismay.
* ImAHumanitarian: PlayedForLaughs. Bunet frequently expresses his desire to taste other people, much to their (Completely reasonable) bewilderment. It should be noted, however, that he does it entirely to [[BunnyEarsLawyer improve his own cooking]].
* InsaneTrollLogic: At the end of his support with Pandreo, Bunet tries to capture Pandreo's party-loving vibe in his cooking by licking him so that he can replicate the taste.
* LoonWithAHeartOfGold: Bunet is ''certainly'' an odd duck, but he clearly isn't a bad sort by any means. He really does love to see his cooking bring others happiness.
* MyGreatestFailure: He's still somewhat emotionally shaken over the fact that he didn't win the contest to become the royal family's personal chef.
* NoSocialSkills: Bunet is a polite and well-meaning guy, but he isn't exactly the most socially adept person out there, to say the least.
* OvershadowedByAwesome: Perhaps the character hit the hardest by it. Bunet is perfectly usable, but he's significantly overshadowed by the units who join around the same time as him[[note]]He joins one chapter after Ivy, Zelkov, and Kagetsu, in the same chapter as Fogado and Pandreo, and one chapter before Timerra, Panette, and Merrin. All 8 of these characters are more useful than Bunet at base, with many of them being considered some of the best units in the whole game[[/note]]. To make matters worse, this is a point in the game when you don't have many deployment slots and [[spoiler:can't use or inherit any skills from the first 6 emblem rings]].
* PickyEater: Bunet is the character with the smallest list of liked foods out of anyone in the army. Must be due to having such high standards.
* PreMortemOneLiner:
-->''"Time to party!"''\\
''"Let's savor this moment!"''\\
''"I will roast you!"''\\
''"Dinner is served!"''
* SupremeChef: Bunet is the only character other than Anna capable of cooking an SS ranked dish, and he is incapable of cooking a dish ranked below B rank as long as one of his personal prefixes is chosen - sometimes he'll say "I experimented with a unique flavor profile" for a D-Rank "Ordinary" dish.

[[folder:Seadall ''(Seadas)'']]
!!!'''Birthday:''' 4/21
!!!'''Class:''' Dancer
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Shogo Sakamoto (Japanese), Creator/GriffinPuatu (English)
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/seadallfe17portrait.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''Mystic Dancer'']]
A renowned dancer from Solm, who's good at reading fortunes. He has a glamorous charm and a mysterious air. Sometimes, he says spiteful things, but he's especially kind to those he's fond of. He loves honey more than anyone in the army.\\\
His personal skill, ''Curious Dance'', restores the HP of all allies within two tiles near Seadall by 10% at the start of the player phase.
----
* BreakingOldTrends: Seadall is the series' first male dancer.[[note]]Previous male "refresher" units like Elphin, Nils, Reyson, and Rafiel were bards, and while male students in ''Three Houses'' could become dancers, Seadall is the first character to be ''canonically'' a dancer.[[/note]]
* CleavageWindow: RareMaleExample. One of his alternate outfits forms a window that shows off his chest.
* DanceBattler: As a Dancer, his attack animations while using arts (fists) are far more flashy than the rigid movements of the Martial Monk classes.
* DubNameChange: His Japanese name is Seadas, the dessert he is named after.
* HardWorkHardlyWorks: Seadall's point of contention with Rosado in their support conversations is Rosado looking beautiful without seemingly putting any effort in it, while Seadall has put a lot of work into getting there himself and finds it unfair. To this end, [[StalkerWithoutACrush he practically stalks Rosado's routine]] in order to find what he thinks is the secret to Rosado's effortless beauty.
* FortuneTeller: His ability other than being a dancer is to read and predict the future using tarot cards, although his predictions can be rather vague at times.
* FragileSpeedster: Seadall has good growths in Speed and Luck, but every other stat is mediocre. Given he's a Dancer, he's not exactly meant to engage in combat.
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Seadall has very long hair and is a very pretty man.]]
* LordBritishPostulate: You ''can'' reclass Seadall, but he is your only character who can allow another character to move again each turn[[note]]While all characters can do the same with Byleth and Veronica's ring equipped, their movement refreshing abilities can only be used once per Engage cycle, whereas Seadall has no such restrictions[[/note]], and he can only do that as his starting class.
* MartialArtsHeadband: He dons a headband and can beat his foes senseless with his fists, though not as well as the dedicated combat units.
* MrFanservice: Seadall is a LongHairedPrettyBoy whose battle and casual outfit exposes his stomach and even his chest, revealing quite a muscular physique. Of course, being a dancer, he puts a lot of effort into looking beautiful.
* MythologyGag: Seadall is the first user of Corrin and is a long-haired dancer, reminiscent of a certain major character from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemFates''.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: PlayedForLaughs. Seadall is usually a quiet, mysterious man, but the instant he smells his favorite foods he begins loudly and dramatically praying to the cards for wisdom.
* ParentalAbandonment: His B-Support with Alcryst reveals that his father died when he was very young, with his mother following a few years later.
* ThePerfectionist: He sets high standards for himself and is always working to better his dancing skills.
* PreMortemOneLiner:
-->''"Death is in the cards."''\\
''"The stars have aligned."''\\
''"The danse macabre calls."''\\
''"Dance with me!"''
* ShipTease: With Yunaka in their A Support. After being chosen for the lead role in Seadall's performance, Yunaka gets stage fright but calms down when Seadall holds her hand and tells her that he trusts her. Furthermore if you beat the game with both Yunaka and Seadall alive [[spoiler:you see [[WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue a CG during the credits]] showing that they kept doing their performance duo after the events of the game]].
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Roast meat. Not helped by how he needs to abstain from eating roasts regularly to maintain his figure as a dancer.
