[[quoteright:159:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shiro.png]]

Illya's much older foster brother, who goes to the high school that Illya's own school is a subsidiary of. He was taken in by Kiritsugu after his own family died due to unspecified circumstances.
----
* AccidentalPervert: Seems to be a very usual thing for him. Even to the point that Rin and Luvia lampshade if he's a H-anime protagonist.
* AdaptationalAngstDowngrade: He's more mentally well than his counterparts thanks to [[spoiler:not having to go through the tragedy that Kiritsugu caused trying to destroy the grail.]]
* AdaptationalWimp: Has none of the combat and magecraft abilities of his Fate/stay night counterpart.
* ArtShiftedSequel: The anime adaptation of 3rei has drawn Shirou to [[{{Foreshadowing}} look more like his ufotable counterpart]].
* BrutalHonesty: Ruby injects him a serum of truth in 2wei's BeachEpisode. HilarityEnsues.
* ButtMonkey: That so many girls are into him just gets him into trouble and more than a little pain, all played for laughs of course. Even in his home, his position is on the lowest rung, below ''the maids''.
* ChickMagnet: Even as a supporting character, Shirou ''still'' manages to attract the attentions of Illya, Chloe, Miyu, Rin, Luvia, Sakura, and Nanaki's older sister. Also maybe Sella. His step-mother Iri [[ShipperOnDeck trying to pair him]] with any girl that shows interest in him so doesn't help either.
* CovertPervert: He says a lot of raunchy things when subjected to Ruby's TruthSerum.
-->'''Shirou:''' ''[To Rin]'' Tohsaka... I'm guessing you keep your skirt short because you lack confidence in your chest. But that length isn't enough to cover yourself. The line between the thigh and buttock has a beauty and eroticism that's hard to describe...
* DecompositeCharacter: He has Shirou Emiya's identity and background, but his role as the protagonist and "ordinary person who stumbles into the world of magic'' aspect is carried over to Illya.
* DemotedToExtra: He was the protagonist in the original ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight''. Here, he only has minor appearances, and has no idea about Illya's magical girl activities.
* GroinAttack: Irisveil happily assures Illya, Kuro and Miyu that Shirou would never dare to try anything with them -- because he knows [[MamaBear she would]] ''[[MamaBear castrate him]]''.
* HomoEroticSubtext: With Issei, but mostly on Issei's side. This has been used by Mimi and Suzuka as material for BL doujins.
* InNameOnly: Besides his identity and background, he has little in common with his ''Fate/Stay Night'' counterpart.
* InSeriesNickname: Homurahara's Brownie.
* InSpiteOfANail:
** He still ends up being an orphan and adopted by Kiritsugu despite the Great Fire and Holy Grail War not happening in this timeline, though he does end up with a proper family this time.
** Humorously, he's still a massive ChickMagnet despite living a relatively mundane life.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Shirou seems to be unaware of the Mage Association-related shenanigans the people around him are involved in, especially his family, and is oblivious to the existence of the supernatural.
* MistakenForPedophile: Generally by Sella. Ironically, despite the sometimes borderline-{{Ecchi}} nature of the series, Shirou tends to get "[[NotWhatItLooksLike caught]]" in totally innocent situations, like giving Illya a kiss on the forehead as a reward for winning cooking duel against Chloe.
* NiceGuy: The main reason why girls flock to him.
* NomDeMom: GenderInverted. He takes Kiritsugu's last name "Emiya" despite technically being adopted into the von Einzbern family. The reasons behind this are never explained.
* ObliviousToLove: Despite being a chick magnet, he has ''no'' idea that those girls like him.
* TheOneGuy: With Kiritsugu gone, he's not exactly thrilled about being the only guy in the ImprobablyFemaleCast.
* RichardNixonTheUsedCarSalesman: His counterparts are mighty warriors with magical powers, but he is a completely ordinary person.
* InconsistentSpelling: Zig-zagged, most people pronounce his name as "Shirou". Except for Luvia, who pronounces it "Shero" for some reason.
* SeriousBusiness: As usual for Shirou, he treat cooking in utmost seriousness.
-->'''Shirou:''' (with super serious face) I can't lie about cooking!!
* SupremeChef: A fact that annoys Sella to no end.
* WhenYouComingHomeDad:
-->'''Shirou:''' I wish dad would come home soon.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/seraliz.png]]

The von Einzbern family maids, who accompanied their mistress Irisviel to Japan after she married Kiritsugu. They are also sisters, with Sella being the more serious and responsible of the pair, while Leysritt is content to just lounge about the house after she does her daily duties.\\
\\
As servants of the Einzberns, they know perfectly well about Illya's role in the aborted Grail War ritual, and Sella in particular is constantly worried that Illya has secretly gotten herself in some sort of trouble. Her concern is ''very'' merited.
----
* ACupAngst: Sella is... ''sensitive''... about how, despite being sisters, Leys is ''much'' more well-endowed than her.
* ArentYouGoingToRavishMe: When [[{{Jerkass}} Iri]] forces them to dress provocatively and ask Shirou if he wants "[[DinnerBathOrSexOffer dinner, a bath, or Sella]]?" first, [[ChasteHero he]] [[NiceGuy naturally]] chooses "dinner". Sella [[NotGoodWithRejection proceeds to beat him up for that]], calling him "good for nothing".
* BerserkButton: There are several sure-fire ways to tick off Sella: comment on her weight, comment on her lack of endowments, pre-emptively finish her housework despite it being her turn to do so, or imply that you'd rather have dinner than have her.
* BrilliantButLazy: If Leysritt's abilities are ''anything'' like her mainline counterpart, she's actually strong enough to potentially take on ''Heroic Spirits''. Not to mention she may also be keeping her massive poleaxe around. Chances are she could possibly take on ''Bazett'' in a straight fight. Of course, none of the main cast are actually aware of this, nor has Leysritt had any reason to display her abilities. She does lazily block a barrage of fists from Sella in a side chapter.
* DeadpanSnarker: Leysritt is more an example of this trope than her mainline self, who mostly spoke in a terse, monotone, and robotic voice. Here, her speech is more of bored but less stilted.
* DullEyesOfUnhappiness: Leysritt's eyes have less shine spots than the other characters, or sometimes have none at all. In this instance, it's more to emphasize her [[LazyBum lethargic personality.]]
* LazyBum: Leysritt is pretty lazy, usually watching TV and eating snacks. She isn't completely irresponsible though, as seen in one of the ''2wei!'' specials where she takes care of Kuro, who seems to be suffering from a fever (actually lack of mana) when Sella isn't in the house.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: They have no idea that Illya is a magical girl and that she is fighting Class Cards.
* {{Meido}}: Though in this incarnation it's not apparent, due to the fact that they don't use their uniforms anymore. The one time that Sella does appear in the uniform, Illya comments that it's not cute at all and therefore doesn't like it. Sella is actually quite sad about that. Justified that, unlike their mainline selves, they're not maids of an opulent residence like the Einzbern castle, but a simple Japanese urban house, so their simpler clothes are more fitting here. In the above ArentYouGoingToRavishMe moment, they're dressed in sexier versions of the outfits.
* MotherlySidePlait: Sella wears her hair this way, and she acts much more like a mature, responsible parent than Iri does.
* MundaneUtility: As seen in one of the ''2wei!'' specials, their idea of using magical girl powers consists of saving electricity, drying laundry, heating food and using Ruby as a remote control.
* MsFanservice: Leysritt, with her generous bust, and shapely legs. The shirt and shorts do nothing to conceal her assets. Not to mention, she doesn't wear a bra.
* SiblingYinYang: Sella is hard working and strict, while Leysritt is laid-back but lazy.
* StayInTheKitchen: Inversion. Sella wants Shirou out of it.
* {{Tsundere}}: Sella toward Shirou, mostly the "tsun" part.
* WeightWoe: Though you wouldn't see it at first glance, Sella has a recurring weight problem. One of the extra chapters even focuses on her efforts to ''lose'' some of that extra weight... to no avail.
* WomanChild: Leysritt would order and watch magical girl anime with Illya.

[[folder:Irisviel von Einzbern]]
!!Irisviel "Iri" von Einzbern
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Creator/SayakaOhara (Japanese), Creator/MaggieFlecknoe (English), Maggie Vera (Latin American Spanish)
[[quoteright:272:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/iri.png]]

Illya's mother, and the de-facto head of the Einzbern family. Irisviel is often away from home, accompanying her husband Kiritsugu in his "work" around the world, and leaves the care of the house to her maids. ''Unlike'' Kiritsugu, Iri makes it a point to drop by and check on the family every so often.
----
* AbusiveParents: Physically, but thankfully only for comic relief. Iri hits Illya when she annoys her with questions about her secret powers at the end of the first season and in 2wei [[spoiler:pulls off a giant fist made out of strings to silence Chloe after she almost attacked Iri. [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments Then she proceeds to do the same with Illya just because.]]]]
* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents: She tends to be a bit overly affectionate and way too into Illya and Shirou's romantic lives. She repeatedly asks Illya about her crushes and ships Shirou with any girl that shows even the tiniest bit of interest in him.
* ArtificialHuman: She's still an Einzbern Homunculus, but with no Holy Grail business to deal with, she and her daughter have had a much happier (and longer) life.
* CloudCuckooLander: Illya describes her as doing based on what mood strikes her.
* DrivesLikeCrazy: Like in ''Literature/FateZero''. Combines this with DynamicEntry.
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: All of Illya's female friends from school are disturbingly attracted to Illya's mom, to the point most of them ask for "souvenir photos" when Iri gets pulled into modelling some wedding dresses during a theme park visit.
* HappilyMarried: With Kiritsugu.
* HiddenDepths: Iri, while well-meaning, is generally seen by both her children as flighty, spontaneous, and impulsive. As her arrival in the first season and 2wei shows however, Iri is ''very'' perceptive and is often on-the-button with regards to Illya's problems.
* GiveHimANormalLife: [[spoiler:She and Kiritsugu seal Illya's memories as the Grail to give her a normal life.]]
* AGodAmI: PlayedForLaughs, but when she draw up the family hierarchy she made herself god tier.
--> '''Illya:''' ''As expected from mama! Declaring yourself as a god from the get-go!''
* ImpoverishedPatrician: It's easy to forget that, in the mainline Fate series, the Einzberns were considered both nobility and a pre-eminent, if secretive, mage family. Here though? Your typical middle-class family, with Iri herself as a supportive wife. Irisviel isn't in the least bothered by this though... maybe. She ''does'' make fun of the Edelfelt mansion getting demolished in ''2wei!'' for example.
* LastOfHerKind: [[spoiler:As she reveals in 2wei, Iri and Illya are the last of the Einzberns left alive.]]
* LetsGetDangerous: When [[spoiler:Gilgamesh breaks out of the Mirror World and attempts to hijack the Greater Grail under Mount Enzou]], Iri arrives within minutes and demands answers from Caren to find out what's going on. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, [[YouAreTooLate she's too late]] to even say goodbye as her daughter(s) are hurled into AnotherDimension, at least in the manga version]]. In the anime, it's averted, [[spoiler:since she decides to stay behind with the injured Caren, and the battle ends without her involvement or appearance.]]
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Despite her knowledge of the Grail War, [[spoiler:she is completely unaware of the existence of the Avenger Class]].
* MomentKiller: A walking example. Illya even notes the atmosphere is ruined whenever Iri appears.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: Her [[{{Troll}} eccentric personality]] seems genuine, but she's [[GoodIsNotDumb much more knowledgeable and aware]] than she lets on, and [[GoodIsNotSoft can be dead serious]] when the situation calls for it. Keep in mind that she's spent much of the last ten years working with [[ProfessionalKiller Kiritsugu]].
* PaternalSubstitute: She is one to Miyu. [[spoiler:Since Miyu is an orphan who lost her mom, she really could use a mother figure like Iri.]]
* PointOfDivergence: Unlike her main series self, who encouraged Kiritsugu to continue the Holy Grail War, Prisma!Iri convinced him to escape the Einzberns and take Illya with them.
* ShipperOnDeck: Any girl who is interested in Shirou, especially Rin and Luvia, who she at one point tries to bribe with photos of Shirou she [[BlatantLies just so happened to be carrying around]]. Part of it seems to be genuine, though another part of it is probably for [[ItAmusedMe her amusement]]. She also ''pimps'' Sella to Shirou.
* SparedByTheAdaptation: She is perfectly fine and dandy in this universe, allowing her to be a mother to both Illya and Shirou.
* {{Troll}}: Considering the above comical abuse she does towards her daughters and getting Sella and Leysritt to strip (while feeling good about it), then dressing them up in sexier versions of their normal maid attire, she comes off as this. Possible MythologyGag as she's also like this in the Einzbern Consultation Rooms from ''Literature/FateZero'' [[spoiler:where Iri's comedic sociopathy comes from her being Grail-possessed.]]
* WalkingTheEarth: She's rarely at home, instead spending a lot of time with her husband on travels.
* WouldHurtAChild: When Illya or Chloe aren't behaving, she'll sometimes smack them.
* WhereIWasBornAndRazed: It's implied in ''2wei!'' that [[spoiler:she and Kiritsugu killed most of her family so that Illya wouldn't be forced into being a Grail Conduit]].

[[quoteright:176:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kiritsugu_and_irisviel_prisma_illya.png]]

The protagonist of ''Literature/FateZero''. Like in the original Fate series, here he is Illya's father, Shirou's adopted father, and Irisviel's husband. Like his wife, he's often away from home, doing "work" around the world. Unlike Iri, he's too busy to come home, and as a result Shirou always wonders when he's ever going to come back.
----
* BigGood: He's responsible for helping to shape Illya into the heroic MagicalGirl we know and love [[spoiler:by abandoning the Holy Grail War ritual altogether, killing off the Einzberns, and taking Iri and their daughter with him so that the latter can live a normal life.]] Not to mention his role in [[spoiler:putting a stop to the Holy Grail War of Illya's universe for good.]]
* DemotedToExtra: While he was the protagonist of ''Literature/FateZero'', here he's relegated to a mostly background role, and hasn't even made a physical appearance in the series proper as of late.
* DisappearedDad: He's always away from home, and Shirou occasionally wonders out loud on when he's ever going to come back.
* FaceFramedInShadow: When he does appear in person during flashbacks, his face is always obscured by shadow, at least when his back isn't turned.
* TheGhost: He's only ever made appearances in flashbacks, with only one spoken line.
* HappilyMarried: To Irisviel.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: His actions offscreen helped to shape the current events of the ''Prisma Illya'' storyline.
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: [[spoiler:Stopping the Holy Grail War in its tracks]] definitely counts, as it helps change things in Illya's universe for the better.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: He's only mentioned and shown briefly in flashbacks, but he's responsible for a number of things in the story such as [[spoiler:Illya's normal upbringing and the lack of a Holy Grail War altogether in their universe.]]
* SparedByTheAdaptation: He's still very much alive and well in this universe, albeit away from home for most of the time.

* AmbiguouslyGay: He's rather... insistent on taking a bath with Shirou.

[[quoteright:142:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mimi.png]]

The quiet one and so-called honor student of the group. Despite her reputation as a goody two-shoes, her secret hobby is writing homoerotic novels, the knowledge of which Suzuka quickly takes advantage of. This in turn ''breaks'' Mimi's perception on relationships, to the point that she considers yuri or BL pairings as perfectly normal in real life.\\
\\
Compared to her friends, she's the only one who's an older sibling rather than a younger one.
----
* BrokenMasquerade: ''Nearly'' during the BeachEpisode. She happens across Illya and Chloe in one of their [[IntimateHealing "prana refilling sessions"]] and Miyu tells her to forget about it (she doesn't). She ''then'' happens across Illya, Shirou '''and Ruby''' after the latter did some truth serum and sedative shenanigans but forgot to give a sedative to ''her''. It's bad enough along with all the other chaos at the beach that Sapphire has to go full MemoryWipingCrew on everyone involved.
* CoolBigSister: She has been shown to be a nice big sister. She even made cake for her little brother.
* CorruptTheCutie: No thanks to Suzuka getting her hooked on BL.
* CovertPervert: Turns out she was always very perverted under her kindness, it just took Suzuka to release it.
* EarlyBirdCameo: A girl who looks [[http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/typemoon/images/f/fe/Fate_Hollow_Ataraxia_Lancer_fishing.JPG quite similar]] to her appears watching Lancer fish in a short scene in ''VisualNovel/FateHollowAtaraxia''. Gilgamesh even calls her "Mimi" during the sequence.

* NiceGirl: She is very kind and considerate towards her goofy comrades.
%%* NominalImportance:
* OutOfFocus: [[RunningGag Mimi has zero presence, and people like Ruby or Miyu tend to forget about her very easily.]]
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: When describing her appreciation of a BL novel Suzuka handed out to her, Mimi breaks into a long-winded speech that Illya lampshades as filled with terms that would require educational discretion (complete with steam noises [[SoundEffectsBleep just because]]). She eventually degenerates into excited gibberish that Chloe mistakes for Berserker's garbled shouts.
* YaoiFangirl: Because she can't seem to think of a good lesbian story writeup [[note]]Which is based on [[LoveTriangle her perception]] of Illya, Miyu and Chloe's relationship[[/note]], she settles for gender bendering the characters into males. This in turn attracts the attention of resident BL writer Suzuka, who uses her script for a comic booth and even forces poor Mimi to host it. Afterwards, Mimi's transformation was complete, something that terrifies even Suzuka.
* YuriFan: Goes both ways, as she thinks homosexual relationships are fine and totally ships the supposed love triangle between Illya, Miyu and Chloe.

The goofball of the group of friends, and the only daughter of the Gakumazawa dojo. Tatsuko's thought patterns can be very hard to understand at times.
----
* BigBrotherAttraction: She wanted to have her SacredFirstKiss with her big brother (though since she has two, it's not clear which one). Comparisons to Illya follow immediately.
* ButNotTooForeign: Her mother has the very un-Japanese given name of "Stella", which, coupled with her blonde hair, might actually imply that she is mixed race.
* CloudCuckooLander: Wears a swimsuit to gym class even though they aren't going swimming, among many other things.
* GenkiGirl: Even amongst a group of grade-school girls, Tatsuko stands out as being extraordinarily hyperactive, compounded by virtually zero impulse control.
* HeroicBSOD: PlayedForLaughs. She goes completely blank in one of the ''2wei herz'' specials, after Nanaki effortlessly defeats her (Tatsuko's) own father in his own dojo.
* IdiotHair: Has a noticeable one. In one episode, it even becomes a halo!
* IronButtMonkey: She's constantly sent flying into the air by a MegatonPunch from the other girls without any injury. She once even got hit by a ''car'' and was fine afterwards.
* LethalChef: Among other things, adds meat spices (she wanted to make hamburgers!) and breathmints (It adds flavor!) to cake batter.
* MadeOfIron: She constantly get sent flying into the air without any injury. She once even got hit by a ''car'' and was fine afterwards.
* TraumaCongaLine: Throughout two of the ''2wei Herz'' specials, where Nanaki joins her father's dojo, effortlessly beats him, destroys his dojo's sign, continuously badmouths him and eventually his whole fighting style once she finds out that it's completely useless if your opponent doesn't actually want to fight. She spends most of it borderline catatonic, and eventually comes out of it as a pacifist.

The most "normal" among Illya's friends, and seems to straddle a midpoint between Tatsuko's lunacy and Mimi's good-girl role. Despite this she can be as goofy as the rest of them. Her older sister Nanami is the schoolmate of Illya's older brother Shirou.
----
* BigBrotherWorship: Adores her older sister, which is why she's noticeably distressed when said sister is traumatized by a bad encounter with her "tsundere" and "gold-drilled" schoolmates (Rin and Luvia, respectively).
* EyesAlwaysClosed: She has ''never'' opened her eyes so far, though her sister has done so once.
%%* GirlishPigtails:

* RedEyesTakeWarning: Her sister is shown to have red eyes, so it can be assumed that she does too. Subverted as there isn't anything threatening about either of them.
* ShipperOnDeck: When she finds out her older sister has a crush on Shirou, she is ecstatic and wants them to be together as that means she would become Illya's sister-in-law.
* StoneWall: After she masters the martial art taught by Tatsuko's father, she has one problem; the style is dedicated entirely around counter-attacks, and Luvia and Rin have no intention of attacking her, essentially rendering all of her training useless.

Despite being the most reasonable-looking member of Illya's friends, Suzuka is as much a goofball as the rest of them, but she hides this fact really ''really'' well. She's actually a raging fujoshi, but thankfully she keeps these urges in check while at school.
----

* SenseiChan: She plays the trope dead straight in this series, where's she's [[OneOfTheKids not much more mature than her students]] despite being a teacher and [[OldMaid is sensitive about her age]], unlike in ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight'' where she's immature at home but competent as a teacher.

* AdaptationalJerkass: Caren had her snarky and provocative moments in ''Hollow Ataraxia'', but was still overall a kind young woman who'd rather suffer herself than see others suffer before her. Not the case in this universe.
* AgeLift: She's older than her counterpart from ''VisualNovel/FateHollowAtaraxia'', who was implied to be at least around 14 years old in the game.
* BlessedWithSuck: Caren's body starts to bleed in the presence of evil spirits. The church regularly employs her as a radar due to this ability.
* ButNotTooForeign: [[spoiler:Half-Japanese, half-Italian.]]
* ChildHater: The sound of happy children hurts her ears. In fact, she chose to work as a school nurse so she'd only see them when they were sick or hurt.
%%* DeadpanSnarker:
* DrJerk: She is disappointed if your injuries are minor and she enjoys getting a close look at children that get injured.
* EmotionlessGirl: Perhaps bored is a better word, as she almost only drinks tea or observes.
* NaughtyNun: A nun with a battle costume that does not include a skirt.
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: When wearing her [[spoiler:Church uniform]] she intentionally doesn't wear a skirt. Because it's fashion.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Caren or Karen. Also Hortensia and Ortensia. She's probably Italian though, so Ortensia is more likely.

Rin Tosaka's estranged younger sister and Shirou Emiya's classmate, who also deeply cares for him.
----
* DemotedToExtra: Even more so than Shirou, as she only gets one scene. [[AmbiguousSituation Making it rather ambiguous of her life in the Matou Family]].
* InSpiteOfANail: She's still estranged from Rin and is adopted in the Matou Family. But whether or not she shares the same DarkAndTroubledPast as her ''VisualNovel/FateStayNight'' counterpart is unknown.
* NiceGirl: Her only scene shows her being worried about Shirou's injuries and took him to the school's infirmary.
