However, as his level gets higher, his growths get much better and his Noble Phantasm gets an upgrade that gives it more damage. He's also one of the few Servants that gets a third skill later on, and the fact that he has three Arts cards allows him to charge up his NP gauge easily.

Archer, Knight of the Bow and Heroic Spirit of the Bow, is one of the seven normal Servant classes summoned for the Holy Grail War and considered one of the Three Knight classes along with Saber and Lancer. Servants placed within this class excel in possessing powerful Noble Phantasms, are able to act as highly effective scouts, and are frequently Heroic Spirits from the Age of Gods when magecraft was still commonplace. The qualifying condition for the Heroic Spirits is not attributes, but instead the possession of powerful projectile weapons or special abilities related to projectile weapons. They possess high Magic Resistance as a Class Skill, so most modern magi are unable to inflict damage to them. They also possess Independent Action, allowing them the ability to act independently for a length of time without an active supply of magical energy from their Master

[[caption-width-right:350:The King of Heroes]]

Gilgamesh is the great half-god, half-human king born from the union between the King of Uruk, Lugalbanda, and goddess Rimat-Ninsun. He ruled the Sumerian city-state of Uruk, the capital city of ancient Mesopotamia in the B.C. era. He was an ultimate, transcendent being so divine as to be two-thirds god and one-third human, and no others in the world could match him. He was a despot possessing high divinity who believed he was invincible. He is not merely a legend, and is said to have actually existed and ruled during the Sumer Dynasty five thousand years ago. He also appeared on Fate/extra CCC as a playable Servant (discarding his Class altogether) and Fate/strange fake.
* AbnormalAmmo: Archers are usually expected to use some kind of projectile weapon like a bow, crossbow or even a sling. Gilgamesh uses his infinite treasury of Noble Phantasms as projectiles, all of which are fired with force enough to rip people in half and level buildings.
* AnimeHair: Interestingly, his hair gets spiky and stands up whenever he puts on his armor [[RuleOfCool for no explicable reason]] and lets itself down when he takes it off.
* AllYourPowersCombined: Gate of Babylon is basically this, since the numerous weapons are all Noble Phantasms in their own right, albeit this is more like "ALL Powers combined" due to possessing the prototypes for almost all Noble Phantasms. He also has a fondness for taking out his version of the weapon someone uses when possible and showing that his is even better.
* AntiMagic: Although his natural Magic Resistance is only rank E, Gilgamesh possesses so many anti-magic wards, charms, and amulets that he's effectively immune to it anyway.
* BadassCape: His golden armor incorporates a fabulous red half-cape that reaches from his hips to just above the ground. Technically, this makes it more of a kilt. Still badass though.
