A popstar that Dodgers falls head over heels for.

** Commander X-2 gets a majority of the kicking. For example, while they were stranded on a deserted island, X-2 admits to Dodgers that he saw the duck as his best friend. How does Dodgers respond? By mocking him for being friends with a duck. Another time, when X-2 is at Dodgers' mercy and says he has a deep-rooted fear of heights, Dodgers laughs and makes fun of him.

* ObsfucatingStupidity: Averted or played straight depending on the author, but it's usually the latter. This is what Queen Tyr'ahnee suspects he's doing.

* SmallNameBigEgo: While he ''is'' pretty well known among both the Earth and Martian militarizes, most people understandably don't have ''nearly'' as high an opinion of him as he has of himself.

* TooDumbToLive: Shown to be this on numerous occasions, such as in ''Big Bug Mamas'' when he willingly goes along with what the alien invaders are doing without question, after seeing that they are (seemingly) a race of beautiful tribal women, despite both the planet's natives (who he was supposed to ''liberating'' from them) and The Cadet trying to warn him how dangerous they are. And while he and X-2 were stranded on an island together and almost die of starvation, it's revealed [[spoiler:he had a cell phone ''the whole time'', didn't think to use it]].

* TraumaButton: Being dangled from someplace high, courtesy of his father. [[spoiler: Thankfully, he becomes able to manage it after ''The Fudd'']].

* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Deeply cares for his mother and his love, Queen Tyr'ahnee.

* FriendlessBackground: Aside from Dodgers, The Cadet, and ''maybe'' Queen Tyr'ahnee, he virtually has no friends. Compounded at his [[spoiler: bachelor party and wedding, where Dodgers and The Cadet are the only ones to show up at the former while the seats at his wedding are filled with Martian Centurions rather than friends and family]].

** A little detail is when faced with a duty vs friends choice, he will always choose his responsibility. Might be the reason why his friend list is limited to [[FriendlyEnemies Dodgers and the Cadet]] despite his otherwise polite persona.
* MommasBoy: {{Exaggerated}} and PlayedForLaughs. He constantly messages his mother, and becomes concerned when she doesn't respond in less than ''10 minutes''. From the message he writes to her, she is thoroughly unamused at his attachment.

* AffablyEvil: She's a ReasonableAuthorityFigure to Mars, her obsession with Dodgers notwithstanding, and is on friendly terms with I.Q. Hi despite being enemies.

* BenevolentBoss: She treats her subordinates well and is forgiving to X-2 despite his repeated failures. The only time she's gotten mad with him was when she found he [[StableTimeLoop responsible]] [[NiceJobFixingItVillain for the moment where Dodgers became their greatest enemy]], or when she wanted to propose to Dodgers and got angry at X-2 for hurting him. Even though she told him to kidnap Dodgers in the first place and didn't bother explaining that she wanted to marry Dodgers.

* AdaptationPersonalityChange: Marvin the Martian is polite, soft-spoken, and TheStoic. Commander X-2 is also polite, but expressive and a DeadpanSnarker. Marvin holds an interest in science while X-2 doesn't care much about it. {{Justified}}, as Marvin is playing the character X-2 rather than act as himself.

* BrokenPedestal: In ''You Know This Means War and Peace'', he [[spoiler: loses all of his respect and admiration for Dodgers after the latter betrayed him.]] [[RebuiltPedestal This is undone by the end of the special]].

* KickTheDog: Has plenty of these moments, with most being PlayedForLaughs.
** After ditching the Martian Queen at their own wedding, she hesitates to shoot his ship down. Instead of using it as a chance to reconcile (as suggested by The Cadet), he uses it as an opportunity to shoot down her ship instead.
** While being stranded on a deserted island, X-2 admits to Dodgers that he saw the duck as his best friend. How Dodgers respond? By mocking him for being friends with a duck.

* AbusiveParents: Apparently, his father used to dangle him from the balcony as a child for publicity.
* AdaptationPersonalityChange: Marvin the Martian is polite, soft-spoken, and TheStoic. Commander X-2 is also polite, but expressive and a DeadpanSnarker. Marvin also holds an interest in science while X-2 doesn't care much about it.

* CombatPragmatist: As expected of the primary commander of the Martian forces. He is often the one initiating [[EnemyMine team-ups]] with his enemies in order to fight against a bigger threat.

* ArchEnemy: To Duck Dodgers. Though he tries to deny it early on, claiming that Dodgers is one of his lesser enemies ([[HoYay to Dodgers' chagrin]]), he does later acknowledge the duck as his biggest enemy.

* UndyingLoyalty: To the Queen and to Mars.

* BrokenPedestal: In ''You Know This Means War and Peace'', he [[spoiler: loses all of his respect and admiration for Dodgers after the latter betrayed him.]] This is undone by the end of the special.

* BigGood: He's the one that unfroze Duck Dodgers and is the closest thing we're shown to a leader for The Protectorate.

** While being stranded on a deserted island, X-2 admits to Dodgers that he saw the duck as his only friend. How Dodgers respond? By mocking him for being friends with a duck.

* DitzyGenius: Dr. Hi has his moments, like when he ventured into Dodgers's mind to get a MacGuffin hidden within it and ends up in a bait shop within Dodgers's mind (ItMakesSenseInContext...kind of), he insists on buying something that serves no practical purpose in the bait shop that only exists within Dodgers' mind and therego, would cease to exist once they leave anyway.

* AffablyEvil: He's a FriendlyEnemy with Dodgers and is polite with everyone else. Despite mistaking K-9's attempts to safe him in both of his [[ADayInTheLimelight days in the limelight]], he still loves his dog regardless.

* BadPeopleAbuseAnimals: Averted. He loves K-9, inspite of moments where he thinks his dog is an idiot.

* EvenEvilHasStandards: In "Where's Baby Smarty Pants" he threatens to drop the baby philosopher he and The Cadet over into a grinder, until the baby starts crying and X-2 calms him down while admitting he was bluffing. Right afterwords when The Cadet demands he hand the baby back over, X-2 reminds him the baby is asleep so he doesn't make too much noise.

* HeavySleeper: He can sleep for ''days''.

* MoralityPet: He acts as this to Dodgers to an extent... mostly for not.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While Duck Dodgers usually fit the jerk portion of the trope more than anything, it is occasionally shown that he does care about The Cadet and others.

* ManChild: Dodgers is immature, ''[[IncrediblyLamePun foul]]'' tempered, short sighted, and so lazy, it seems like The Cadet's his caretaker half the time.

* TheMillstone: Dodger Zigzags this. While he often causes the trouble of that particular episode (or makes it worse), he's also usually the one who saves the day in the end, and can be quite competent when he's not screwing up.

* RapunzelHair: She has this.

* BeautyisBad: Hella is more cute, but Ramona and Angelica are definitely beautiful.

** AdaptationalDumbass: However, he's also lost a good number of IQ points. While Dodgers in the original short did tend to miss a few vital details, he wasn't actually stupid. In this show he's a certified {{Cloudcuckoolander}} who, depending on the episode, swings between being a GeniusDitz and a straight-up Ditz.

* CloudCuckooLander: In one episode we get to see inside his mind and he still makes no more sense than before.

* BigBad: He and Queen Tyr'ahnee are the closest things we get to this.

* DitzyGenius: Dr. Hi has his moments, like when he ventured into Dodgers' mind to get MacGuffin hidden within it and ends up in a bait shop within Dodgers' mind (ItMakesSenseInContext... kinda of), he insists on buying something that serves no practical purpose in the bait shop that only exists within Dodgers' mind and there go, would cease to exist once they live anyway.

* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: Most of time, for example, he takes advantage of the queen's feelings to defeat her, and he doesn't care about Roboto's sacrifice.

An intergalactic police force armed with rings that enable them to fly and create light constructs of whatever they can think of. Dodgers gets mixed up with them because of a laundromat mix-up with Hal Jordan.

* ADayInTheLimelight: He has a couple of these. LampShaded by Dodgers, who says he's entitled to one a season. Though sadly, he doesn't get one in season three.

* FoeRomanceSubtext: In the finale of the first season he denies that Dodgers is his ArchEnemy, much to Dodgers' frustration. When Dodgers defeats the villain X-2 sees as his real greatest enemy, and talks about being the ArchEnemy to Tyr'ahnee, X-2 gets mad saying he thought he and Dodgers were sworn enemies.
