* GodIsEvil: [[spoiler: It's debatable whether He's more actively diabolical than Satan or not, but one should be reminded that He is willing to let all humans descend into destruction and war along with the other demons, have Satan kill the one person he cares for in the midst of said war, and have the entire events of the series repeat itself as many times as needed. That's God's idea of a punishment.]]

* BadassInDistress: Even with his newfound abilities, Akira doesn't always have it easy in his anti-demon crusade. There's also his second fight with Xenon, which leaves him wounded enough that he can't ''fly'' back to Miki, which is a really bad thing since otherwise he might have been able to save her from getting lynched.]]

* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Whereas Ryo informed Akira of his plans to merge him with a demon in the manga, in this adaptation Akira was left in the dark about it and was only told that they would just be filming evidence, and as far as he knows, his fusion with a demon was just a coincidence. He does learn the truth later on when Ryo blurts it out in a panic, but he no longer bothers to confront him about it.

* AdaptationalWimp: While she's still a decent match for Akira in this adaptation, she no longer has the ability to teleport and conjure fire, which made her an even more dangerous opponent in the manga. Her telekinetic abilities also aren't as powerful, since in the anime while she uses her telekinesis to hurl objects at Akira, she never tries to create any shock waves.

Even then, he's completely inconsiderate of Akira's feelings.
