* AloofBigBrother: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed.]] Star does not hate her baby half-brother Pierre, but she is not thrilled about him coming to visit, along with her mom and the rest of that side of the family. {{Subverted|Trope}}, as it is later shown that Star very much cares for Pierre despite her dislike for his biological father and their shared half-sister and hopes he will be better than his family when he grows up.

** By the end of Trapped, Star helps Danny when Dash pushes him in his locker and stands up to the big bully. Later, when she sees Mr. Lancer unfairly give Danny detention because he favored Dash, she privately threatens to have her father sue him and the school for turning a blind eye to the harassment students receive from the A-Listers unless Mr. Lancer stops favoring them and does his job. Mr. Lancer agrees, apologizes to Danny, rips up his slip, and gives Dash detention. Finally, Star publicly sits with Danny and Valerie, ends her friendship with Paulina, and quits the A-Listers for good.
** In Sunk, hoping to make up for her past rudeness to her new boyfriend, Star insists that she and Danny go out to the water park. Despite Dash, Paulina, Kwan, and Colette trying to ruin their time and Sam and Tucker spying on them, they had a great time with Star forcing Dash to apologize to her and Danny, and gifting her boyfriend a model shuttle that Dash broke in the past.
** In Stuck, Sam and Star are forced to work together when they are accidentally sent away and stuck at the abandoned Camp Skull and Crossbones. Despite originally fighting with one other due to mutual dislike, the two girls eventually work through their differences after saving each other's lives and finding shelter. While they sit down at a campfire and open up to each other, Sam points out that while Star is dating Danny and is nicer to ''him'', she has, at best, tolerated her and Tucker and never apologized for how she used to treat them as an A-Lister. Star, realizing that Sam is right, genuinely apologizes to the goth girl, and by the end of the story, they make a truce for Danny's sake. Afterward, Star treats Sam and Tucker better, and Sam, to an extent, is respectful of her relationship with Danny from then on.

** Despite originally being [[AloofBigBrother distant towards her half-brother, Pierre]], Star does care about him and realizes that he is not to blame for what happened with her parents. The side story "Protected" is about her bonding with Pierre more while she babysits him.

* DarkAndTroubledPast: Star had a rough childhood, due to her parents divorcing after her mother ran away with a JerkAss and Star wound up getting a [[BigSisterBully a cruel step sister who made her life miserable]]. Her closest relationship was with her father, who sadly, [[ParentsAsPeople had a very busy work shedule and couldn't spend as much time as he wanted to with her]]. By middle school, out of desperation to fit in, she joined the A-Listers and became a BetaBitch that was seen in canon.

* ForgivenButNotForgotten: In regards to her mother Stella, Star greatly resents her for leaving her father and marrying an awful man like Jean Luc, which resulted in Star getting a nasty stepsister, Colette. In "Lost," after thinking Danny left because of her mother's insensitive comments, Star reached her breaking point and finally called her mother out. She confronts Stella about her vapid attitude and actions, such as leaving a loving family for a womanizer and his spoiled brat daughter, and not fulfilling her role as a parent. When Stella tries to defend herself and orders Star to apologize, Star then admits she hates her mother and leaves. While being lost in the ghost zone with Danny, Star remembers her childhood and the pain she felt when her mother left, and how Stella's corrupting influence made Star insecure enough to befriend toxic friends, making Star want to cut her mother out of her life. However, Star also remembers when Stella was once a good mother and after seeing her genuinely heartbroken over her daughter's disappearance, even apologizing to her and Danny, she agrees to give Stella another chance, even convincing her father not to terminate her mother's visitation rights. However, Star points out that she can't forget the years of abandonment and insensitivity. In "Stuck," she later admits to Sam that it will be a long time before she completely forgives her mother for what she has done. Nonetheless, Stella is really taking steps to be a better mother and person; she has stopped favoring Colette and started bonding more with Star, supporting her relationship with Danny. While Stella made mistakes, she has learned from them, and Star does appreciate that her mother is trying to be better, thus implying that she will forgive her mother, but just needs time.

* HeteroSexualLifePartners: With Valerie.

** She is a skilled bowler, takes ballet and is very athletic, [[spoiler: the latter which helps with her ghost fighting.]]

** She is multilingual and claims to know Spanish, French, German and Japanese, since according to her, her father believed that it would benefit her.

* LovableAlphaBitch: Star slowly becomes this over the stories, maintaining her good looks but become a nicer person overall.

* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: After Spectra gave her a [[TheReasonYouSuchSpeech speech on how she is a horrible person and not the hero she thinks she is]], Valerie was horrified when she realized that Spectra was right and her former actions were not justified, breaking down in shame. However, Valerie's friends assured her that she has since grown as a person and learned from her mistakes. Star pointed out that even when they were A-Listers, Val truly cared for her and listened to her problems, like when her parents divorced. Danny pointed out that she had his back when he had amnesia and agreed to help take Vlad down, Tucker pointed out that she has been nicer to Team Phantom, and Sam admitted that Val had a good reason to be in the pageant (she admitted that was weak but had nothing else to say). With her friends' support, Valerie was able to overcome her guilt and despair.

* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: When Spectra gave Valerie Gray a speech on how she was a horrible person and not the hero she thinks she is, Valerie was horrified when she realized that Spectra was right and her former actions were not justified. Valerie's Friends assured her that she has since grown as a person; while she made mistakes, she learned from her mistakes and stopped making them. Star pointed out that even in the A-Listers, Val truly cared for her and listened to her problems, like when her parents divorced. Jean-Luc has a very strained relationship with his stepdaughter, Star Strong, who resents him for seducing her mother Stella while she was married to her father. While Jean himself seems to be indifferent to Star and tolerates her for her mother's sake, he is not abusive to Star nor actually tries to make her miserable, seemingly being content with staying out of her way whenever she's around.

* UpperclassTwit: Akin to her husband.

* TheAce: Solene is a succesful corporate lawyer who is very educated, artistic and even does volunteer work with animal and even has worked with NASA at one point.
* BrainyBrunette: She has black hair and is a very succesful lawyer.

* FreudianExcuse: It is hinted that Stella's stuck-up attitude is due to her own upbringing which caused her to place top importance on her privilege.

* PreppyName: Her full namd is Beatrice Margaux Gloria Richelieu-Traville.

* PetTheDog: Post-Lost stories show that Stella ''is'' trying to make an effort to fix her relationship with Star and be nicer to Danny.

** In ''Unprepared'' After hearing that Star offended her father's girlfriend, Solene, and wishes to make amends, Stella agrees to help her daughter, showing that she was supportive of Johnathan dating again. Also, upon meeting Solene, Stella makes a sincere effort to list Johnathan's good points to her, admitting that she hurt him and now wants him to be happy.

* RichInDollarsPoorInSense: She is very rich but seems to have an alien view on the more everyday lifestyle.

* ShippingTorpedo: She and Jean Luc dismiss the idea of Star being with Danny, finding him too plain and unimpressive for her. However, Stella comes around in future stories.

* ALighterShadeOfBlack: Jean Luc is this to his daughter, Colette Bevier. Both are arrogant aristocrats who look down on the middle-class, have a habit of dating people already in relationships, and have a strained relationship with Star. The difference is while Jean-Luc doesn't particularly like for Star and is uncaring about her safety, he does not go out of his way to antagonize her and is content with staying out of her way, unlike Colette, who constantly bullies and humiliates Star. It's heavily implied that despite Jean-Luc being a shameless womanizer and cheater, he does care for Stella, who, despite his implied cheating, is genuinely happy with him, and he loves his children. On the other hand, it is implied that despite getting along with Stella, Colette does not really care about her stepmother; she's also shown to be indifferent at best to her infant half-brother Pierre. Finally, Jean Luc Bevier may be a womanizer but there is no evidence that he is obsessive about the women he chases. On the other hand, Colette has become completely fixated with taking Danny as her boyfriend, no matter the consequences.

* EducationMama: A Male Example. According to Star, he is very strict about her grades, expecting at least a B average and he is also expects her to attend her extracurricular activities too.

** While Johnathan has a strained relationship with his ex-wife, Stella, and blames her when Star begins to act out because of the pressures of the beauty pageant, he is shocked to learn what his daughter had said to her mother. Johnathan believes that what Star said was unacceptable and promises to have a talk with her.

* GoodParents: Okay, while Johnathan [[ParentsAsPeople doesn't spend as much time with Star as he would like due to his work schedule]], he is a very loving father towards her and while she is pampered, it's obvious that most of Star's good traits came from him.

* JerkassHasAPoint: He plans to use his connections as a high-ranking lawyer to terminate Stella's visitation rights so she can't see Star anymore. While it's true that he plans to manipulate the court system, he is right when he points out that Stella has been a terrible parent due to her thoughtlessness, not caring how her actions negatively influenced their daughter and the fact that she had sided with her stepdaughter over Star. What makes this worse is that unknown to Johnathan, Stella was a corrupting influence on Star for years, turning her into a spoiled mean girl, but he thought Stella still loved their daughter and encouraged Star to spend time with her mother whenever she's in town. In hindsight, it would have been better for Star if he cut Stella from their lives from the start.

* ParentsAsPeople: He does love Star and cares for her well-being, but he has a very busy schedule due to being a successful lawyer and rarely spends time with her. However, the moment he thinks her life is in danger, he leaps into action. He's also still not very forgiving to his ex-wife, and will make a rude comment about her if he can.
* SelfMadeMan: It's revealed that he came from a middle class family, but through hard work, became the successful lawyer he is today.
* ShipperOnDeck: Jonathan Strong seems to recognize his daughter's interest in Danny quickly and voices his approval of her new "friend" more than the A-Listers.

* AristocratsAreEvil: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. As she is more selfish and thoughtless then evil, but Stella is a woman who came from a wealthy, high-bred family and has no respect for the middle-class. It's also implied that her family is the same way, because according to her, she was raised to believe that her opinion mattered more than what "the commoners" believe.

* ClingyJealousGirl: It's hinted that Stella used to get quite jealous when Johnathan was around other women when they were married. {{Defied|Trope}} however, in the story, while Stella was a little jealous when she heard that Johnathan has a girlfriend, she understood he needed to move on and felt he still deserves to be happy and feels no resentment towards Johnathan.
* EmasculatedCuckold: {{Averted|Trope}}. A number of characters point out that Jean Luc Bevier is a womanizer and that not has changed, with him flirting with numerous other women despite being married. Still, it appears that this has not strained Stella's marriage with him. Even when a friend of hers pointed out that Jean Luc had hit on other women at the country club, Stella's response was awkward rather than shocked/angry. It is unknown whether she is in denial of Jean Luc's cheating or if they have an open marriage.

* FatalFlaw: Naivete. Stella honestly doesn't grasp that her views or those of her family are actually very toxic and that the world doesn't work the way she thinks it does. A lot of the strife between her and Star comes down to her honestly not recognizing how harmful her way of thinking is to her daughter and how much grief it causes for Star. It takes nearly getting cut out of Star's life for good for her to start growing past this and even then she still makes several well intentioned mistakes because she doesn't quite grasp how she comes across to people.

** It is more prominent during ''Bonding'', when Maddie and Jack barely hid their dislike of Stella and seemed to bond more with Jonathan. When Stella and Johnathan started arguing, both Jack and Maddie take Johnathan's side and admit how they really feel about her and her past actions. Thankfully, after the ghost attack and Stella risking her life to save Star, they acknowledge what she did and let bygones be bygones. By ''Sick'', the Fentons and Stella are much more civil with each other.
* HatedByAll: She's not well liked by the Fentons or the family she abandoned and it takes a while for it to finally affect her.
* HiddenDepths

** "Dressed" heavily implies that Stella secretly isn't as happy as she presents herself, hinting that she wishes she wasn't so spoiled. When Danny tries to comfort her over what Star said to her, Stella grimly states to herself that she did something foolish and did not consider the consequences. Even when her ex-husband tries to cheer her up, stating that she is trying to make up for her mistakes, she realizes to herself that she forgot how mature he was and is genuinely touched by his words.
*** It also hinted that she might miss Johnathan deep down but is in denial, acting confused because she is supposed to be happy with Jean-Luc and their family.
*** Lastly, Spectra reveal to Team Phantom that Stella is secretly miserable and might regret her life choices. Stating that even Stella isn't sure if Jean Luc is cheating on her or not, and possibly knowing that her stepdaughter does not truly love her and only uses her.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Stella is certainly a RichBitch and still has trouble letting go of her vices after CharacterDevelopment but loves her daughter dearly and is trying to be better, even if she still makes some well intentioned errors.
* JerkassHasAPoint: While it doesn't justify her actions when Stella notes that their marriage had lost it's spark Jonathan doesn't try to argue and she does make a point that trying to stick it out for Star's sake until she left home wouldn't have been all that much better for any of them.

* ParentalFavoritism: Stella seems guilty of preferring Colette over Star, which makes it even more tragic since Star is her ''biological'' child. Thankfully, it becomes [[SubvertedTrope subverted]] later on, as she becomes more aware of Colette's cruel deeds and begins punishing her accordingly. Stella even makes an effort to repair her relationship with Star.

** After hearing that Star yelled to her father girlfriend and wishes to make amends, Stella agrees to help her daughter make up with her, show that she was supportive of Johnathan having a girlfriend. Also, upon meeting Solene, Stella makes a sincere effort to list Johnathan's good points to her, admitting that she hurt him and now wants him to be happy.

* ShippingTorpedo: She and Jean Luc dismiss the idea of Star being with Danny, finding him too plain and unimpressive for her.

* StepfordSmiler: It's heavily implied "Dressed" that Stella secretly isn't very happy and may regret her past life choices. She clearly feels guilty over leaving her first family and has been trying to reconnect with her daughter Star and earn her forgiveness. When Star joins a beauty pageant, Stella is excited and uses this as a chance to bond with her and to reconnect with her (in addition to her own love for pageants) but comes off as very pushy and controlling about it, which pushes Star further away and causes her to lash out at Stella (partially due to Spectra's influence). Star lashes out for her mother's past mistakes, leaving Stella heartbroken and ashamed. However, both Danny and even her ex-husband try to comfort her and convince her that Star does not mean it, that she was just under a lot of stress and did not think about what she said. Stella, however, is still sad and bitter about the consequences of her mistakes.
** Later, when Johnathan tries and comfort her, Stella remembers how happy she was with him, and to her shock, she wonders why she felt that since she believes that she should be happy with her current husband.
** Later, Spectra reveals to Star and the rest of Team Phantom that Stella is miserable deep down and has many regrets about her life and her choices. Spectra also hints that Stella might be aware that her new husband and step-daughter are horrible people but is in complete denial about it. Stella is also very insecure about her flaws, and she isn't even sure if Jean-Luc is faithful to her or not and that she may be aware that Colette doesn't truly love her deep down and only sees her as a means to an end.

* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: Johnathan gives a speech to his ex-wife, Stella, when she wants to leave the beauty pageant because of her daughter's harsh words and feeling that she has failed as a mother. Johnathan does not deny that Stella has made many mistakes and hurt their daughter in the past; however, he also admits that she has also made a sincere effort to be a better mother to Star. He tells her that while flawed, she has done a lot to make up with her daughter and everyone else, admitting that she's not the worst mother ever because she's trying to make things better and improve her relationship with her child.

* WomanChild: She is a spoiled, ditzy woman who sometimes acts even ''less'' mature her teenage daughter. Stella tends to be shallow, critical, flighty and even prone to having tantrums that you would expect from a teenager rather than a middle-aged woman and mother. Johnathan outright calls her "a spoiled brat in a woman's body" in "Bonding".

* ALighterShadeOfBlack: Jean Luc Bevier is this to his daughter Colette Bevier. * CorruptedCharacterCopy: Jean-Luc is physically based on Iknik Blackstone Varrick from ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'', as both are rich men with mustaches and tanned skin, right down to wearing the color purple as his predominant color. However, he lacks Varrick's redeeming qualities. Varrick is an AffablyEvil man who is very energetic, holds no ill will to the heroes despite past occurrences, shows he's capable of empathy, has an OddFriendship with NiceGuy Bolin and genuinely loves his assistant Zhu Li before marrying her. By contrast, Jean-Luc is a stuckup and vain man who looks down on the lower classes, only shows interest in attractive women regardless of anyone's marital status, has an open disdain towards Danny specifically and even if he does indeed love Stella it doesn't change his attitude and Star wonders if he cheats on her.

* SerialHomewrecker: He's had a habit of hitting on married women, even while married himself.

* WickedStepmother {{Downplayed|Trope}} and {{GenderInverted|Trope}}. Jean Luc Bevier has a very strained relationship with his stepdaughter Star Strong. Star resents Jean for seducing her mom Stella while she was married to her father. While Jean himself seems to be indifferent to Star and tolerates her for her mother's sake. However, Jean is not abusive to Star and does not go out of his way to make her miserable, seemingly his contempt at staying out of her way.

* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: Gender inverted. Her father and stepmother appear to be the only people she genuinely respects, though not to the point where Colette won't go behind their backs in an attempt to claim Danny. It's also implied that she is only nice to Stella in order to keep being spoiled by her and her father.

* EvilCannotComprehendGood: She's unable to understand why an amnesia stricken Danny still refuses to go along with her way of doing things despite having no memory of how things really are between them. It honestly eludes her that Danny actually has a moral compass while she generally doesn't.

* ClingyJealousGirl: [[spoiler: She did NOT take well seeing Danny Phantom flirting with Star at the end of "Lost".]]

* {{Irony}}: Openly disrespects the Fentons and wants nothing to do with them while being rather controlling of his daughter to get on Eleanor's good side. In the end, the Fentons makes a better impression while his daughter is the only member of his family whom Eleanor is friendly with.
