However, Ghost Writer refuses to accept Danny's apology, pointing out that it is not enough for being in jail and destroying his keyboard. Initially, Danny accepts that, but when the Ghost Writer turns Star into a Swan, Danny feels he crossed a line since Star was innocent and did nothing to him. Danny still tries to apologize to The Ghost Writer and ask to end this peacefully, pointing out that he does not have a right to take out his anger on Amity Park. However, he refuses to listen and keeps trying to ruin Valentine's Day. Upon revealing the real reason that he wants revenge( his girlfriend broke up with him with a letter before valentine's Day while he was in jail), Danny was disgusted by how hypocritical he was acting. Danny and his ex-girlfriend would later point out that does not excuse his petty actions. Danny loses whatever sympathies he had left for The Ghost Writer and is more determined to stop him.

* ALighterShadeOfBlack: She is this to her second husband, Jean-Luc, and step-daughter Colette. When Stella first appeared, she acted like a ditzy, materialistic, selfish, and thoughtless woman with no respect for the middle-class and looked down on those she deemed beneath her. She was also guilty of neglecting her daughter, Star, and favoring her new family, who are just as selfish as her. She also dismissed Danny upon meeting him, believing that he is not good enough for Star, and made rude comments about him behind his back. Once Star reached her breaking point (due to thinking that Danny left because of Stella's insults), and angrily called out her mother for her actions, Stella refused to take them back and ended up arguing with her and making Star storm off. When Star disappeared though, Stella was sincerely worried for her, yet refused to take responsibility for her role in what happened, going as far as to say she sacrificed her figure to give birth to Star. However, when Jonathan also calls her out for being a lousy parent to their daughter and angrily tells Stella that he plans to terminate her visitation rights, she finally realizes the seriousness of the situation and the fact that her actions have consequences, beginning to feel guilty and worried. When Johnathan pointed out how apathetic Jean-Luc and Colette were about Star's disappearance, Stella insisted that they are handling it differently, but her response was awkward and implied that she was uncomfortable with their indifference. Thankfully, by the end of her debut story, Stella has sincerely apologized to both her daughter and Danny and even moved back to Amity Park to be closer to Star and repair their relationship, showing that she ''does'' love her daughter and feels remorse for her actions. Stella ''is'' capable of seeing the error of her ways and becoming a better person, unlike her husband and step-daughter who both refuse to admit their own faults. Future fic segments show her CharacterDevelopment, as Stella is making a real effort to be a more thoughtful and attentive parent.

By ''Sick'', the Fentons and Stella are much more civil with each other.

** However, flashbacks in ''Lost'' show Johnathan and Stella's past relationship and reveal that they both genuinely loved each other when they were first married and were happy together. Unfortunately, their different values and upbringings eventually caused them to drift apart. Johnathan acknowledges that he was so in love with Stella that he was blinded to her flaws, like her snobbery. On the other hand, Stella was in love with Johnathan when he was a young man just starting his career, and she did love the family they made together, but over the years, they lost their spark. Stella admits to herself that she is still unsure if she grew bored with him or felt neglected because of his work schedule, but she eventually felt that their relationship couldn't be saved.
** There is also Stella's marriage to Jean-Luc, a snobbish man who has no problem hitting on other women. Stella does explain that she fell for Jean-Luc based on his good looks, sophistication and the fact that he came from OldMoney like her, while her relationship with Johnathan was dead by the time she met him. It seems that Stella is/was attracted to Jean-Luc because they had more things in common, and she seems content with their marriage, though is either unaware or in denial of his womanizing ways.
* ObnoxiousEntitledHousewife: She was very demanding and selfish when she was married to Johnathan.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: In ''Dressed'', she's so concerned over her relationship with Star after her daughter's outburst towards her that she briefly forgets Colette is competing in the pageant too.

** To be clear, Beatrice is a RichBitch and a major ControlFreak who looks down on the non-upper class people and mistreats anyone she deems "beneath" her. Stella acts like an ExtremeDoormat around her, to the point where it's revealed that during her marriage to Johnathan, Stella always tried to excuse and defend her mother's behavior. Leaving Johnathan (who, despite being a successful and wealthy lawyer, was born middle class) to be looked down on by Beatrice and leaving him to deal with the brunt of her insults and abuse since she considered him a "peasant" due to not being from an old money family.
** Jonathan was understandably unhappy when Beatrice and her husband came to visit his daughter Star, despite Stella insisting that she just wants to see her granddaughter and that Jonathan will never see her again. Unfortunately for Jonathan, Beatrice DOES decide to "visit" his home and wastes no time insulting him and making ludicrous demands.
** It gets worse when it's revealed that the only reason she came to visit was that she wanted to pair Star up with someone she hates because he's in high society and cares very little about her grandchild's opinion on the matter. When Stella tries to talk her mother out of this idea, she learns that Beatrice plans to take her and Star back to New York in order to train Star to become a "proper lady." Stella, not wanting to risk her relationship with her daughter and unable to stand up to her mother, tries to get her mother to cancel that plan by showing her that Danny is worthy of Star by making him into a perfect gentleman. The plan did not work since it was clear that Beatrice didn't care if Danny had perfect manners since he was not a blue-blood. And Beatrice wastes no time passive-aggressively insulting him and looking down on him and his family, much to Star's fury and Stella's exasperation.
** The breaking point was when Donovan Loadman, the boy Beatrice set up for Star, tried to kiss her and hit her when she refused him. When Danny defended Star and called the guy out, she took Donovan's side, much to the outrage of everyone. Everyone was furious at Beatrice's behavior, and even Stella, who spent most of the story being a WellDoneSonGuy to her mother, finds this unacceptable and even thinks her mother has gone insane, and it was implied she was going to confront her before a ghost attack.
** After the ghost attack ended and Danny protected Star from getting hurt, Beatrice STILL insulted Danny and took Donovan's side over his, even trying to BLAME everything on Danny and his family and verbally attacking them. This was the last straw for Stella, who FINALLY calls out her mother and even SLAPS her. Before calling Beatrice out on everything she has done and promising to cut her out of their lives for her actions and lack of concern for her family members, admitting that the others were right and that she would never change.
** Even though Beatrice tried to berate her and call her a disappointment, Stella didn't care as she was more concerned about being a good mother to Star than trying to gain her mother's approval. When Stella and Johnathan decided to place a restraining order on Beatrice, the old woman tries to demand that Stella lifts it under the threat of cutting her out of her will, but Stella refuses, stating that she will not change her mind on the matter and saying that Beatrice doesn't even deserve to be a grandmother because of her actions.
** In the end, it is clear that Stella's relationship with her mother is destroyed at this point, and Stella herself has no regrets, as any real love and respect she had for her mother is gone at this point, and the only thing she cares about is Star's happiness and well-being.
* RichBitch: She is very rich, haughty and stuck-up.
* RichInDollarsPoorInSense: She is wealthy but seems to have an alien view on the more everyday lifestyle.

Spectra also hints that Stella might be aware that her new husband and step-daughter are horrible people but is in complete denial about it. Stella is also very insecure about her flaws, and she isn't even sure if Jean-Luc is faithful to her or not and may know that Colette doesn't truly love her deep down, only seeing her stepmother as a means to an end.

What makes this worse is that unknown to Johnathan, Stella was a corrupting influence on Star for years, turning her into a spoiled mean girl, but he thought Stella still loved their daughter and encouraged Star to spend time with her mother whenever she was in town. In hindsight, it would have been better for Star if he cut Stella from their lives from the start.

She was also guilty of neglecting her daughter, Star, and favoring her new family, who are just as selfish as her. She also dismissed Danny upon meeting him, believing that he is not good enough for Star, and made rude comments about him behind his back. Once Star reached her breaking point (due to thinking that Danny left because of Stella's insults), and angrily called out her mother for her actions, Stella refused to take them back and ended up arguing with her and making Star storm off. When Star disappeared though, Stella was sincerely worried for her, yet refused to take responsibility for her role in what happened, going as far as to say she sacrificed her figure to give birth to Star. However, when Jonathan also calls her out for being a lousy parent to their daughter and angrily tells Stella that he plans to terminate her visitation rights, she finally realizes the seriousness of the situation and the fact that her actions have consequences, beginning to feel guilty and worried. When Johnathan pointed out how apathetic Jean-Luc and Colette were about Star's disappearance, Stella insisted that they are handling it differently, but her response was awkward and implied that she was uncomfortable with their indifference. Thankfully, by the end of her debut story, Stella has sincerely apologized to both her daughter and Danny and even moved back to Amity Park to be closer to Star and repair their relationship, showing that she ''does'' love her daughter and feels remorse for her actions. Stella ''is'' capable of seeing the error of her ways and becoming a better person, unlike her husband and step-daughter who both refuse to admit their own faults. Future fic segments show her CharacterDevelopment, as Stella is making a real effort to be a more thoughtful and attentive parent.

** Stella tries to show kindness to Paulina for being Star's former friend, and Colette's new friend, but even she's exasperated by her obsession with Danny Phantom.
** Stella usually downplays and tries to justify her mother(Beatrice) and her behavior. However, Stella was unhappy to learn that her mother plans to pair Star up with a boy without even discussing it with her (one that Star HATES to boot). She was especially unhappy to learn of Beatrice plan to take Star back to New York to mold her into a ProperLady. It is also heavily implied that deep down, Stella knows that her mother's acting horribly and since her mother raised her to always obey her, she has it hard time standing up to Beatrice.
* ExtremeDoormat: {{JustifiedTrope}}. Stella has a hard time standing up to her mother and would always defend her when she does something wrong, insisting that she means well deep down. Even when her mother does some thing she knows is wrong, she still has a hard time standing up to her. * FatalFlaw: Naivete. Stella honestly doesn't grasp that her views or those of her family are actually very toxic and the world doesn't work the way she thinks it does. It takes nearly getting cut out of Star's life for good for her to start growing past this and even then, she makes several well-intentioned mistakes because she doesn't quite grasp how she comes across to people.

* FreudianExcuse: It is hinted that Stella's stuck-up attitude is due to her own upbringing which caused her to place top importance on her privilege. "Visited" definitively proves this to be the case.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Stella isn't very well-liked by Danny's parents, which is {{justified|Trope}}, given that they had met while their kids were missing during ''Lost'' and everyone assumed that their disappearance was due to Stella badmouthing Danny and arguing with Star over it. This, as well as Stella's thoughtlessness/lack of responsibility, causes them to dislike her. Even after Stella apologizes to Danny, they don't forgive her and make it clear that they only associate with her due to her daughter being Danny's girlfriend.
** It is more prominent during ''Bonding'', when Maddie and Jack barely hide their dislike of Stella and seem to bond more with Jonathan. When Stella and Johnathan start arguing, both Jack and Maddie take Johnathan's side and admit how they really feel about her and her past actions. Thankfully, after the ghost attack and Stella risking her life to save Star, they acknowledge what she did and let bygones be bygones. By ''Sick'', the Fentons and Stella are much more civil with each other.

Johnathan acknowledges that he was so in love with Stella that he was blinded to her flaws, like her snobbery. On the other hand, Stella was in love with Johnathan when he was a young man just starting his career, and she did love the family they made together, but over the years, they lost their spark. Stella admits to herself that she is still unsure if she grew bored with him or felt neglected because of his work schedule, but she eventually felt that their relationship couldn't be saved.
** There is also Stella's marriage to Jean-Luc, a snobbish man who has no problem hitting on other women. Stella does explain that she fell for Jean-Luc based on his good looks, sophistication and the fact that he came from OldMoney like her, while her relationship with Johnathan was dead by the time she met him. It seems that Stella is/was attracted to Jean-Luc because they had more things in common, and she seems content with their marriage, though is either unaware or in denial of his womanizing ways.
* ObnoxiousEntitledHousewife: She was very demanding and selfish when she was married to Johnathan.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: In ''Dressed'', she's so concerned over her relationship with Star after her daughter's outburst towards her that she briefly forgets Colette is competing in the pageant too.

Also, upon meeting Solene, Stella makes a sincere effort to list Johnathan's good points to her, admitting that she hurt him and now wants him to be happy.
* PostSupportRegret: Stella Bevier comes to regret supporting her mother, Beatrice, by the end of the story.
** To be clear, Beatrice is a RichBitch and a major ControlFreak who looks down on the non-upper class people and mistreats anyone she deems "beneath" her. Stella acts like an ExtremeDoormat around her, to the point where it's revealed that during her marriage to Johnathan, Stella always tried to excuse and defend her mother's behavior. Leaving Johnathan (who, despite being a successful and wealthy lawyer, was born middle class) to be looked down on by Beatrice and leaving him to deal with the brunt of her insults and abuse since she considered him a "peasant" due to not being from an old money family.
** Jonathan was understandably unhappy when Beatrice and her husband came to visit his daughter Star, despite Stella insisting that she just wants to see her granddaughter and that Jonathan will never see her again. Unfortunately for Jonathan, Beatrice DOES decide to "visit" his home and wastes no time insulting him and making ludicrous demands.
** It gets worse when it's revealed that the only reason she came to visit was that she wanted to pair Star up with someone she hates because he's in high society and cares very little about her grandchild's opinion on the matter. When Stella tries to talk her mother out of this idea, she learns that Beatrice plans to take her and Star back to New York in order to train Star to become a "proper lady." Stella, not wanting to risk her relationship with her daughter and unable to stand up to her mother, tries to get her mother to cancel that plan by showing her that Danny is worthy of Star by making him into a perfect gentleman. The plan did not work since it was clear that Beatrice didn't care if Danny had perfect manners since he was not a blue-blood. And Beatrice wastes no time passive-aggressively insulting him and looking down on him and his family, much to Star's fury and Stella's exasperation.
** The breaking point was when Donovan Loadman, the boy Beatrice set up for Star, tried to kiss her and hit her when she refused him. When Danny defended Star and called the guy out, she took Donovan's side, much to the outrage of everyone. Everyone was furious at Beatrice's behavior, and even Stella, who spent most of the story being a WellDoneSonGuy to her mother, finds this unacceptable and even thinks her mother has gone insane, and it was implied she was going to confront her before a ghost attack.
** After the ghost attack ended and Danny protected Star from getting hurt, Beatrice STILL insulted Danny and took Donovan's side over his, even trying to BLAME everything on Danny and his family and verbally attacking them. This was the last straw for Stella, who FINALLY calls out her mother and even SLAPS her. Before calling Beatrice out on everything she has done and promising to cut her out of their lives for her actions and lack of concern for her family members, admitting that the others were right and that she would never change.
** Even though Beatrice tried to berate her and call her a disappointment, Stella didn't care as she was more concerned about being a good mother to Star than trying to gain her mother's approval. When Stella and Johnathan decided to place a restraining order on Beatrice, the old woman tries to demand that Stella lifts it under the threat of cutting her out of her will, but Stella refuses, stating that she will not change her mind on the matter and saying that Beatrice doesn't even deserve to be a grandmother because of her actions.
** In the end, it is clear that Stella's relationship with her mother is destroyed at this point, and Stella herself has no regrets, as any real love and respect she had for her mother is gone at this point, and the only thing she cares about is Star's happiness and well-being.

* AdaptationalVillainy: In canon, the Ghost Writer was simply teaching Danny a lesson on what happens when you act spiteful to people over Christmas. Due to his imprisonment by Walker, he's become far less well-intentioned. He [[spoiler: curses Star for being Danny's girlfriend as an act of spite and goes about ruining other people's Valentine's]] out of pettiness.
* BerserkButton: He hates being compared and/or mistaken for ''Creator/StephenKing''.
* DisproportionateRetribution: While it's understandable that he was angry with Danny for destroying his poem, as well as getting him arrested, [[spoiler: he went completely overboard turning Star into a swan, just for being Danny's girlfriend]].
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Even he considers Colette to be despicable and while he considered rewriting reality to make Danny and her a couple, he rejected it as he couldn't consider typing anything about her that would compliment her.
* EvilIsPetty: [[spoiler: His ''real'' motive (aside from wanting payback on Danny) was based mostly on being bitter that his girlfriend broke up with him prior to Valentine's Day and was jealous of the other couples]].
* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: The Ghost Writer has an understandable reason for hating Danny since Danny destroyed his poem and even gloated about it. Originally, he just tried to get even with Danny and teach him a lesson, only to end up in jail as a result and later his girlfriend breaking up with him as a result. Upon confronting each other, Danny acknowledges that he has a good reason to be upset and genuinely apologizes to him. However, Ghost Writer refuses to accept Danny's apology, pointing out that it is not enough for being in jail and destroying his keyboard. Initially, Danny accepts that, but when the Ghost Writer turns Star into a Swan, Danny feels he crossed a line since Star was innocent and did nothing to him. Danny still tries to apologize to The Ghost Writer and ask to end this peacefully, pointing out that he does not have a right to take out his anger on Amity Park. However, he refuses to listen and keeps trying to ruin Valentine's Day. Upon revealing the real reason that he wants revenge( his girlfriend broke up with him with a letter before valentine's Day while he was in jail), Danny was disgusted by how hypocritical he was acting. Danny and his ex-girlfriend would later point out that does not excuse his petty actions. Danny loses whatever sympathies he had left for The Ghost Writer and is more determined to stop him.
* {{Hypocrite}}: [[spoiler: After his motives were revealed, Danny calls out how hypocritical he is acting, given that he had punished Danny for his own negative attitude towards Christmas. The Ghost Writer, however, points out Christmas is far more important to the Ghost Zone than Valentine's Day is]].

* AmbiguouslyGay: Star admits the comic is very subtle about Misery's orientation, given her open disdain for men while treating her female servants more favorably.
* BigCreepyCrawlies: Swarm is a large mantis-like creature that can turn into her namesake.
* DatingCatwoman: Shade, in the comic, has this relationship with Danny. In the real world, she flirts with him and shows an instant dislike towards Star for being his girlfriend.
