* AnswerSong: "I Told a Lie" seems to be this for Hiyori's entire ''Heroine'' series of songs. If Hiyori says she wants to be a Cinderella but doesn't feel much like a heroine, Nagisa wants to challenge that notion and properly become her prince.

* YouRemindMeOfX: Koudai doesn't outright say it, but he believes Juri's personality is very similar to Natsuki's, which is part of the reason why he likes her so much.

* SenpaiKohai: He's two grades Hina's senior, and is the only romantic dynamic she has where an upper/lowerclassman relationship is acknowledged. [[spoiler:Ryou also has this dynamic with him, as she is ''his'' senior in college.]]

* IconicItem: Her red book, seen throughout her time in high school as a SignificantSketchbook and in some of the [=PVs=] as a yearbook.

* RomanticRunnerUp: As we see in "Confession Rival Declaration", he was in love with Natsuki ever since middle school, and only worked up the nerve to start pursuing her in their last year of high school. Little did he know she was doing some pursuing of her own, and he ends up losing to Yuu. He uses himself as a cautionary tale to Souta and Kotarou afterwards, encouraging them to push forward with their respective crushes before it's too late.

* MinorMajorCharacter: Despite him being named and given his own character profile for being a classmate and friend of kotaro, Kodai at best is given cameos every now and then and some small lines.

* ExactWords: Juri often brags about her cool, "older" boyfriend who works at a cafe, causing Hiyori and company to think she's dating an adult. Eventually she reveals she's dating Kodai--and while he's "older", it's just by a year or so.

* HelicopterParents: She mentions that her dad is overprotective and her mom is constantly scolding her, and that's the reason why she'd frequent the cafe Kodai works at to unwind. Downplayed in the sense that they don't seem to restrict her activities that much though (if at all).
* YouRemindMeOfX: Kodai doesn't outright say it, but he believes Juri's personality is very similar to Natsuki's, which is part of the reason why he likes her so much.

* EmbarrassingNickname: Aizo calls her "Imo Onna"/Potato Girl/Bumpkin to mock her after their first serious conversation. When they become proper friends, she graduates from this to simply being called [[LastNameBasis Suzumi]].

* ShipTease: Although it's somewhat avoided in the MV series, she has a ton of it with both Yujiro and Aizo in her first two light novels, leaning more towards Yujiro. This is largely abandoned in favor of making them all platonic friends and teasing a ChildhoodFriendRomance with Nagisa Shiramine.

* AdvertisedExtra: He gets just as much promotional material as the rest of his group, and often finds himself on the second movie's advertisements. However, he doesn't actually do much in the story, and outside of a few light novel chapters is not the focus of any major stories.

* ADayInTheLimelight: In the sixth light novel, Koudai gets his own perspective chapter, called "Koudai Yamamoto's Situation". The third compilation also kickstarts his romance arc, "The View from a Lens".

* AdaptationalNiceGuy: When time comes to introduce Koyuki into the PV series, he's much less passive-aggressive than how he's portrayed in the novel and anime continuity where the love triangle is concerned. At most, it's just unrequited pining while leaving Yuu alone. ''Premium Live's'' handling of the Confession Rehearsal arc gets rid of any hostility entirely, with Koyuki fully informing Yu of his attempt to ask out Natsuki and Koyuki outright helping Natsuki realize she needs to confess for real.

* AdaptationalNiceGuy: When time comes to introduce him into the PV series, he's much less passive-aggressive than how he's portrayed in the novel and anime continuity where the Love triangle is concerned. At most, it's just unrequited pining while leaving Yuu alone.

* EarlyBirdCameo: In the music videos, he shows up in "Diagnosis: Lovesickness" sitting in class, and in "Embarrassment-Hiding Adolescence" during the quick montage during the end, but he isn't properly introduced until "Confession Rival Declaration".

* BigOlEyebrows: Compared to most of the cast and especially the girls, her brows are noticeably thicker, probably to highlight her countryside heritage. Going by the rest of her siblings, it sees to be a genetic trait.
* BrokenPedestal: Played with; when she first meets Yujiro, she was a little curious about him being at the police station, but she soon comes to think of him as a cool, pleasant city boy with a prettyboy vibe. Then she meets him after school coming back from her failed attempt to talk to Aizo...and the boy is just as flippant and rude, causing her new positive view on him to crack.

* TeacherStudentRomance: What appears to be the case in "Former Student". One of his students fell in love with him while she was still in school, but thinking she was pranking him he brushed it off. He did find the student beautiful and later on reunites with her.

* CleaningUpRomanticLooseEnds: In all of the love triangles he's featured in, he usually gets taken aside for the true focus couple to get together. The Yu/Natsuki/Koyuki triangle ends with Koyuki confronting Yu and then realizing his chances with Natsuki are next to nil, and the Kotarou/Hina/Koyuki triangle (with more development towards Kotarou/Hina) ends with Hina putting her feelings on hold after seeing Koyuki getting heartbroken. As for Koyuki himself, [[spoiler:his SecondLove is introduced in "Tokyo Winter Session", more than a ways into the series...but it is not Ogino. His actual wife is a woman named Aki Minamoto.]]

* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: As we see in the PV for ''Koi wa Ameagari no You ni'''s "Nostalgic Rainfall", the younger year girls flock to Ogino with admiration. She often gets confessed to as well, and constantly receives ChocolateOfRomance on Valentine's Day from her enamoured girl juniors.

* ShipTease: With the school nurse, if "Senpai." is anything to go by. The stage play gives him some ship tease with Mai Yaegeshi instead.

* TallDarkAndHandsome: He's the tallest male character in the focus group, has jet black hair, and he's been stated to be attractive by quite a few students (and the nurse) before.
