* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: Vertusia's collective goal is to spread 'True Good' to the rest of the world, which is based on the premise that [[RousseauWasRight all sapient beings are born inherently good]], and thus if Vertusia could make the world into a {{Utopia}} people will be given no reason to become evil - even for [[NecessarilyEvil constructive purposes]] (as the purposes they serve in the world and sapient nature [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness will no longer be necessary]]). However, while well-intentioned, their goal is always doomed to fail because the world was practically made with a universal law dictating that GoodNeedsEvil in a [[BalanceBetweenGoodAndEvil delicate balance]] in order for all things to thrive. Therefore, by allowing only Good to thrive, Vertusia may actually invite disaster. It's rather telling when no one in Vertusia - up to Virtuecrat Fairytale Herself - has yet to come up with successful alternatives for evil and vice, just as Vicearch Iniquitous and the rest of Malrègnar had yet to find better alternatives for good and virtue.

* GoodNeedsEvil: The reason why Vertusia itself came to being. The Grand Primevals, shocked and concerned with Vicearch Iniquitous' rise, allowed Virtuecrat Fairytale to come to life so she - and Vertusia as a whole - will serve as an effective counter for Iniquitous and Malrègnar. It's also the reason why Vertusia hasn't succeeded in spreading '[[RousseauWasRight True Good]]' yet - without Malrègnar or evil in general to test/temper its benevolence, their actions in creating a purely good world will only invite disaster. [[GodOfTheDead Moon Ray Vaughoof]] sums up the situation thusly:

* NotSoDifferentRemark: Part of why Moon Ray Vaughoof opposes their belief in 'True Good' is because of their endgame in spreading it all over Equus, leaving no room for constructive evil and, by extension, [[PapaWolf those of his adoptive children and friends who follow it]]. He even compares the Vertusians to many Autorist and Tribalist groups who seek to dominate the world and promote racial/tribal 'purity' in all of sapientkind - despite feeling they're not a very good example.

* BalanceBetweenGoodAndEvil: Implied with her present day relationship with [[spoiler:Vicearch Iniquitous]]. Both of them became nigh-unstoppable forces of good and evil respectively, equally matched in terms of strength and wits, and regardless of the effort they put in each others' defeat and destruction all their early clashes ended in a draw. Then the appearance of a THIRD god-sovereign on their level, embodying ''Neutrality'', firmly established the balance between them as she would ensure neither side will ever be able to truly overcome each other. It is implied this is necessary as their respective natures meant that if their power and influence are not held in check in such a way, they have the potential of eventually TakingOverTheWorld and winning the eternal conflict between Good and Evil for their respective side - which in the context of the setting could potentially be detrimental to the well-being of all life and the world itself with the disruption of the balance.

** [[spoiler:A [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/841341265/4842061511 drabble]] revealed that the reason Fairytale was not overly-concerned with Iniquitous having apparently breached the vaults of Princess Regina and studied the Wands of Ponyland she safeguarded in person was that, on top of knowing [[PragmaticVillainy the Vicearch of Malrègnar would not be foolish enough to mess with powers that would magically-damage Equus and leave her open for a fatal weakness as Lavan had]], the Virtuecrat had multi-layered plans prepared just in case Iniquitous went for it, guaranteeing that any attempt by Iniquitous to subvert their power for her own ends would likely be foiled. Having realized this, Iniquitous made a [[{{Touche}} sincere]] [[WorthyOpponent compliment]] of her cleverness]].

** To note, when Virtuecrat Fairytale appeared in Malrègnar to rescue Princess Radiant Rapier from a FateWorseThanDeath by Vicearch Iniquitous, literally all the demons and mortals of the Malrègnar's dark legions - who had just mercilessly finished off Radiant Rapier's forces - either [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere bolted]] or flinched in sheer terror of her presence. Partly justified by the fact that in the Fourth Age, she is considered to be Vicearch Iniquitous' GoodCounterpart, having reincarnated partly to counter-balance the force of inequine evil that Iniquitous represents with the power of transequine good that Fairytale embodies. Indeed, even Vicearch Iniquitous, the only one who stood her ground in the Virtuecrat's presence, regarded and welcomed her with noticeable respect.

** It is [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/834164348/4846321280 heavily implied]] that this state of affairs had became necessary since both beings have become practically nigh-unstoppable forces representing their respective natures, and because of this both side had to be placed into a stalemated balance which must be maintained for the benefit of Equus as if left unchecked, both have the potential of overcoming all opposition, winning the eternal conflict for either good or evil and [[InTheirOwnImage molding the world in their respective image]] - which, [[BalanceBetweenGoodAndEvil given the nature of the setting]], may have serious negative consequences. [[RiddleForTheAges At least]], that is the belief of those who speculated [[AlwaysABiggerFish higher powers above even the two]] of them [[TheChessmaster arranged this for those reasons]]. While a [[{{Utopia}} world]] ruled benevolently by the Virtuecrat may be a good deal by all considerations, the [[{{Gotterdammerung}} ultimate fate]] of previous 'Utopian' civilizations such as that of the Alicorns - who was undone precisely because they were that successful - suggests [[GoneHorriblyRight this may not turn out well in practice]].

* BigGood: In contrast to the inept and questionably noble JerkassGods that Iniquitous of Malrègnar would punish by defeating and devouring them, they were decidedly less flawed and more heroic. They willingly [[spoiler:[[HeroicSacrifice sacrifice themselves]] to protect their mortal worshippers and their domains from a FusionDance EldritchAbomination (a [[GoneHorriblyWrong failed attempt]] by witches to recreate '[[OmnicidalManiac Queen]] [[HumanoidAbomination Dark]] [[TheDreaded Crystal]]') that even they could not defeat and threatens to destroy their lands and terrorize the world]].
* HeroicSacrifice: In the backstory to Virtuecrat Fairytale's rise, the entire pantheon's gods and angels [[spoiler:collectively abandoned their individuality to form a divine vessel whereupon Fairytale, then a disembodied and dormant 'Spirit of Virtue' who persisted in the weave of Equus, could be reincarnated into the world once more, armed with their combined power, knowledge and domains while at it.]] They do this to [[spoiler:combat a FusionDance EldritchAbomination created by witches attempting to recreate the infamous '[[OmnicidalManiac Queen]] [[HumanoidAbomination Dark]] [[TheDreaded Crystal]]' that [[GoneHorriblyWrong went amok]] and threatens to destroy their lands and cause havoc across the world]].

* HeroicSacrifice: On par with his humility, he showed zero hesitation in summoning Fairytale back into the world even if it would cost him everything he is and has. He doesn't care if he would cease to exist as an independent being, being forgotten by everyone afterwards or whatever other outcome that may follow - if it meant that [[spoiler:his people and their lands could be saved from the 'Walpurgisnacht' entity ravaging them]], then it's worth it.
