* AdaptationSpeciesChange: While he is purely human in his home series, here, it's noted numerous times that Lelouch is more like a ''Galra'' than a human, only furthered by the revelation that [[spoiler:Marianne was in possession of a Luxite Blade, the identifier for members of the ''Blade of Marmora'', heavily implying that not only is Marianne a CompositeCharacter with Keith, but also that she, Lelouch, and Nunnally are all [[HalfHumanHybrid part Galra]] by virtue of Krolia.]]
* AdaptationalBadass: Lelouch had no personal combat skills in canon and only managed Knightmare victories in machines customized for his personal usage. At the same time, his Geass was more suited for manipulation than combat. Here, however, his Geass gives him ShockAndAwe powers, and he's able to outfight ''Cornelia'' using the Black Lion.

* CharacterDevelopment: Due to bonding with the other Paladins and talking with Alfor, Lelouch is taking steps toward becoming far kinder than he was in canon. Already, he's become quite a bit more trusting with others.

* FamilyOfChoice: Lelouch considers the Paladins to be his true family, [[TheExile since he was more or less abandoned by his real family]].

This is what almost convinces him to leave the Paladins during ''Fall of the Castle of Lions'' and is also leads to him [[spoiler:attempting to recklessly charge right into a trap his father set with Nunnally as bait.]] His friends have been working on tempering this issue, though.

** Lelouch is an ''extremely'' pronounced one with Zarkon, [[spoiler:the former Black Paladin.]] Zarkon is TheEmperor of the Galra Empire, is a OneManArmy [[OrcusOnHisThrone but is usually content with using his minions to do his dirty work]], [[spoiler:and has ''incredible'' [[SwissArmyWeapon versatility with his Bayard]].]] Lelouch, meanwhile, is a [[spoiler:[[UnevenHybrid quarter Galra]]]] {{Fallen Prince|ss}} of the Britannian Empire, is [[NonActionGuy physically weak]] [[FrontlineGeneral but leads from the front]], and lacks any personal weaponry, instead relying upon his [[ShockAndAwe empowered Geass]]. Additionally, Lelouch has near-total trust in all of his friends, to the point of sharing his identity with the rest of the Paladins, while Zarkon only has total trust in Haggar, and otherwise rules through fear. Even their origins are opposites - Zarkon was the beloved leader of both his people and the Paladins and only turned evil due to outside influence, while Lelouch had one of the worst childhoods imaginable but became a hero despite it.
** Lelouch is also one to Lotor. In addition to the points listed under Lotor's entry, both also try to establish themselves as distinct from their fathers while being surprisingly similar to said fathers. The difference is that, ultimately, Lelouch really is more moral than his father and, as shown in canon with [[ThanatosGambit Zero Requiem]], is willing to accept that his actions were wrong and try to atone for them, while Lotor ultimately is little better than his father and, when faced with his mistakes, will try to downplay/brush them off.
** Lelouch is also one to his half-sister, Cornelia. Both are {{Frontline General}}s that use personalized mechs for fighting. Both are also {{Benevolent Boss}}es toward their subordinates, and have weapons with unique functionalities (Cornelia uses a sword [[WebAnimation/{{RWBY}} that is also a gun]] while Lelouch uses a knife [[spoiler:[[MorphWeapon that can turn into a sword]]]]. * UnwillingRobotization: Played with. Prorok, in particular, didn't want to go, but Myzax volunteered for the chance to get revenge on Rai.
* WasOnceAMan: Robeasts each require a living organic mind to form the nucleus of the new creature, which is usually a Galra solider. Oddly averted in the case of Drazil, who was apparently a simple reptile before its transformation.

* GladiatorGames: A former undefeated champion in them.
* LizardFolk: While still fleshy, he was humanoid but covered in armored scales.
* WakeUpCallBoss: Myzax gave the Voltron team a run for their money and forced them to learn to use some of their weapons systems.
* WarmUpBoss: The only Robeast that Voltron defeated outright in its first encounter, without help and without coming back for a rematch.

* LeanAndMean: While Myzax was bulky, Drazil is clearly built for speed, with all its limbs pinched uptight.
* LongRangeFighter: It has enough ExtraEyes to pull off a BeamSpam via EyeBeams, but it's never shown to possess any close range attacks - it doesn't even try hitting the paladins with its arms.
* MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily: Has a big maw full of spiky teeth.
* SdrawkcabName: Its name is "lizard" spelled backwards.
* SealedEvilInACan: It's so powerful that the Paladins aren't able to destroy it -- even after they beat it at the end of the chapter, it stood back up for another round. It was only defeated when the Balmera grew a massive crystal around it to seal it in and immobilize it, leaving it still intact but trapped.
* WaveMotionGun: Its chest blaster is the most powerful of its many beam weapons, and it can combine all its energy beams into a massive torrent of energy capable of overwhelming even the Orange Lion's Energy Bow.

Additionally, while we've been introduced to sympathetic Britannians who still side with their empire, the only sympathetic Galra seen so far are part of [[LaResistance the Blade of Marmora]].
