* SpannerInTheWorks: There is no StableTimeLoop in effect, as multiple events throughout the game imply that this is the first time they're happening with Crono and the team's intervention, to the point that the Black Omen existing only happens because [[NiceJobBreakingItHero they interfered with time.]] This subsequently means that not a single antagonist or threat in the story can readily account for the party's time travel adventure changing the very course of history up until the aforementioned Black Omen that Queen Zeal awaits the heroes upon; this allows them, and ''only'' them, to be capable of subverting Lavos and every consequence of Lavos' existence.

He uses Magus as a messianic figure to rally the fiends to try and kill humanity, and then makes ''himself'' the figure after the heroes defeat Magus. That suggests the fiends were only turned to mass evil by Ozzie's poisonous influence.

It's not specific to Nazis, but that's the whole *point* of this trope. Ozzie portraying Magus or himself as a messianic figure, implying that the fiends are racially superior to humans, and his being the person who overall manipulated his people into war, all of which are similar to Nazism.

* AlmightyIdiot: Lavos, despite all its power, is simply a parasite that is draining Earth's energy. ''VideoGame/ChronoCross'' confirms this latter point, with Lavos both carrying out plans as well as having dialogue with the player characters.
