The self-proclaimed Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist were formed by Shizuma Hoshigaki, the group's main objective was to start a coup d'état in Kirigakure to overthrow the Sixth Mizukage and replace him with Kagura Karatachi, as well as return the village to the era of the "Bloody Mist". Ultimately, the rogue group was defeated and their rebellion stopped before it could actually begin, being written off as "just a scuffle among kids". Afterward, the group's original members were imprisoned in a correction center to undergo rehabilitation.

* ArcVillain: As the group that Shizuma is leading, they also count as the villains of the Field Trip Arc.

Leader of a gang of delinquent ninja who believes in reviving the Blood Mist era of the Hidden Mist. While he claims that it is to restore the Mist to its "glory days", in truth, Shizuma is a psychotic piece of filth who will kill anyone who stands in his way and commits these heinous acts simply because '''it's fun.''' His plans never see fruition when he's taken down by Boruto and Kagura.

* BloodMagic: Using his own blood as a medium, Shizuma can use Samehada's power to taint his Blood Mist Barrier causing to steal chakra from his enemies open wounds.

* DidntThinkThisThrough: Attempting to murder the Hokage's son to intentionally spark a war is probably one of the most stupidest ideas to date. Does he really think he and six other inexperienced brats are going to be able to take on the world in war? Does he think he can face ''Naruto's'' '''wrath''' once the Hokage learns who murdered his son? Does he really think he can [[spoiler:wield the Samehada in the same vein as ''Kisame''?]]

* FauxAffablyEvil: Seems nice enough when we first see him, getting his underling Hassaku to stop attacking attacking Boruto and his friends. Like his clansman Kisame, he's also unfailingly polite, even to enemies, and insists on proper honorifics being used at all times. Under that, he's a dangerous psychotic murderer with no care for anyone or anything save his own amusement.

* HateSink: Nothing about this guy is redeemable. ''Nothing''. In-universe, Boruto considers him a piece of crap for trying to manipulate Kagura and [[BloodKnight Suigetsu]] just considers him an "immature brat" who knows nothing about the horrors of war. Out-universe, the fandom hates his existence not only for the reasons above but for actually thinking he could get away with his goals.

* ParentalSubstitute: Serves as this to Ryōgi, since both of the latter's parents are dead and he was a family friend.

* CloneDegeneration: The fatal flaw in their design. They don't live long to begin with, and the more they exert themselves, the less time they have. This can be delayed, but lacking an aforementioned transplant, it can't be stopped.

* ClonesArePeopleToo: While the Akuta shock troops are more animalistic then anything else, the Fabrications are clearly self-aware, displaying unique personalities. Furthermore, while they follow their defined purpose, it is clear that they are following the letter of the law rather then the spirit, and they quickly take it way too far.

* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: In a sense. Sekiei trusts Mitsuki off the bat because he is a synthetic lifeform just the same as he is and he wants to make a friend, while Kokuyo and the others are more reasonably concerned by Mitsuki's apparent willingness to abandon his allies. While Mitsuki does give him pause a couple times, Sekiei is always reassured with relative ease. Come the moment of truth, and Sekiei does not take it well. Subverted slightly in that Mitsuki did actually like Sekiei, and the betrayal was no easier for him.

* VillainousBreakdown: When Mitsuki shows his loyalties are, and have always been with, the Hidden Leaf Village, Sekiei goes insane. He exhausts all his energy in a desperate fury hoping to kill Mitsuki for his betrayal, and eventually ends up dying as a result.

* Golem: As is befitting of their place of origin, they are certainly intended to bring this aesthetic across. When they begin to degenerate, they crack and break apart, like clay that has dried out. The regeneration process has them immersed in liquid, revitalizing them, but unable to restore what has crumbled away. Likewise, their central dilemma of whether or not they truly have souls and wills of their own is also very much in this vein.

* Sadist: She expresses enjoyment at watching two close friends try to kill each other at her command.

* Lunacy: His shadow powers specifically require moonlight.

First, he kills and eats his second-in-command, Tsukiyo, in order to weed out any traitors that are imprisoned at Hozuki while also concealing his true identity. He runs into Kokuri, a former member of his gang who could spill the beans at any moment, and attempts to kill him in Tsukiyo's form. When this fails, he makes a deal with the warden and tries to have Kokuri transferred to another prison where he would be killed by other Mujina prisoners. Team 7, who happened to be operating undercover as prisoners, help Kokuri break out with them, forcing Shojoji to kill the warden and pursue them, where he is able to once more try and kill Kokuri along with the genin. He loses the fight with the genin, but is able to drag Kokuri into the ocean below and consume him, which forced him to reveal the nature of his Corpse Clone jutsu to interrogators, but also enabled him to go back into hiding and enact his next plan: a power play to seize control of the Land of Fire through his impersonation of the Feudal Lord. That plan would have succeeded if not had Boruto not interfered.

Leader of the Mujina Gang, Shojoji is a mysterious individual that shows up in the Boruto series. He kipnaps Tentou, the Fire Daimyou's son in exchange for a ransom. When Boruto comes to save him, he end up fighting Boruto and almost kill him, if not for Sarada and Mitsuki coming to the rescue.
