* PerpetualFrowner: Hilda essentially never smiles. Oga is extremely weirded out when she briefly doesn't act this way [[spoiler:due to amnesia.]]

** BadassDamsel: Behemoth's 34 Pillar Division captured her, but they didn't have an easy time of it. Despite having been locked in a cell for a few days, being heavily outnumbered, and not having her sword, she still had it in her to take down five pillar generals before she was subdued.

She gets caught by some low level delinquents with the excuse being that they drugged her, but then it turns out she just wanted to lure Oga into getting into a fight. She was fine the whole time. [[spoiler:Played much more straight when she is kidnapped by Behemoth and Jabberwock; despite [[BadassDamsel being badass about it and not going down without a fight]], she's eventually overwhelmed and has her memory wiped.]]

* InnocentCohabitation: Everyone assumes he and Hilda are sleeping together. In fact, at least at the start, he doesn't even want to live with her. Even after they've warmed up to each other, she apparently sleeps in his sisters room.

* AssKicksYou: In chapter 228, when Oga and Beel think Furuichi is acting like a pussy (read: [[OnlySaneMan acting rational]]), Beel somersaults off of Oga's shoulder and [[http://www.mangareader.net/beelzebub/228/5 gives Furuichi a facefull of his ass]].

** When he first 'fights' Aoi he merely dodges all of her attacks, leading to the impression that he won't hit girls. Hilda is angry but lets it pass. Later, they have a genuine fight showing it's not quite true but it was a sanctioned and controlled match, and he still uses more grapple attacks than anything like his normal punches. His sister, Misaki, might have something to do with that.
** During the Akuma Academy arc, he tries to avert this one and hit the female Pillar Generals he was up against, but without much success. The implication is he is perfectly capable of treating women as dangerous enemies, but the problem with this fight was that a number of the girls acted like innocent, terrified girls whenever he was about to hit them, causing him to freeze up for a moment. Otherwise he'd be okay with it.

** In Chapter 107, Oda declares that [[spoiler:as his father, he will make Beel this.]]

Beel, realizing this, takes off running, briefly powers up Aoi to win her fight, and then teams up with Kanzaki to have him destroy the machine, aiming to turn the bleak situation around.]]

* HeroicComedicSociopath: NominalHero? Check. Sociopathic towards everyone and enjoys being excessively violent? Check. {{Jerkass}? Check. Usually gets away with it? Check. It's all PlayedForLaughs? Check. Oga is definitively one of these.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Early on, he tries dumping Beel off on more people, but when he finds people who are sufficiently vile he ends up attacking them instead out of disgust rather than giving them Beel. Later on he drops attempts to get rid of Beel and is nicer overall.

He gets a gentle confrontation saying that since he surely knows how Kunieda feels he should just take care of the situation and he agrees... and then assumes she's feeling hungry and invites everyone to lunch. On the other hand, he does pretty pointedly ignore the implication that [[spoiler:amnesiac Hilda might represent Hilda's actual suppressed feelings.]]

* StudentCouncilPresident: By default, as by defeating all four of the Tohoshinki, Oga is technically ruler of the school. [[spoiler:It helps that the King's Crest by definition indicates that all four in some way see him as their boss, even if they never admit it.]]

* ObliviousToLove: Has no clue about Aoi's massive crush on him, despite her blushing whenever she's around him. [[spoiler:Although if we go by what's seen in previous chapters, he's finally beginning to catch on, if only on a subconscious level.]]
* OneManArmy: When [[spoiler:Hilda]] gets kidnapped, the enemies propose a TournamentArc to settle things. Oga then decides "Screw it, that'll take too much time," and after a quick five-minute conversation with his friends, attacks the enemy base head on. By himself. [[spoiler:While he probably would have failed without his eventual backup, he chews through about a third of the army before he even gets winded.]]

While Oga is quick to drag him into weird situations for [[ItAmusedMe his own amusement]] and never hesitates to beat him around when he has the chance, the moment someone else so much as smashes Furuichi's face against the table, Oga will waste no time to kick the crap out of them, as Himekawa painfully found out early in the series.

** During the Akuma Academy arc, he tries to avert this one and hit the girls, but the implication is that if they're not acting like combatants he hesitates too much even if they're clearly hostile. Otherwise he'd be okay with it.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: Has taken to using wrestling moves quite a lot in his fights lately.

* DistressedDude: when he was kidnapped by Himekawa along with Hilda. While he was capable of holding his ground against him and was not intimidated, his calm attitude and his talk with Oga the following chapter suggests that this was not the first time this had happened to Furuichi.

* AntiHero: Early on, he was a pretty straight blood knight that tried passing Beel off to whoever would take him and was lacking in any friends beyond Furuichi. However, by the end of the Ishiyama High arc he had evolved into a jerky but otherwise standard shonen protagonist. Still doing good things, but not exactly because they're the right thing to do so much as entertaining or part of his responsibility to take care of Beel.

* BattleCouple: That's what the whole school ''assumes'' he and Hilda are.

* BerserkButton: Don't interfere with his fights and don't mess with his TrueCompanions.

* BlueWithShock: He often ends up like this.

* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Is abnormally strong even without Beel's powers. This is the whole reason he's been able to survive as his parent so far.
* ChasteHero: He has shown no interest whatsoever in girls, relationships and other gender-related high school trappings.
* ChickMagnet: For some reason (and to Furuichi's utter dismay). He himself is completely oblivious (at least consciously), putting him in CluelessChickMagnet territory.

* FreudianExcuse: Had one for why he hated people walking behind him as a kid. When you're back there, he can't keep an eye on you during his fights so you don't get killed and you could be saying mean things about him as if he can't hear you back there. Furuichi was the first person to instead walk right beside him.

* GenreSavvy: Sometimes, due to him being a RPG player.

* HeroicComedicSociopath: Type V antihero? Check. Sociopathic towards everyone and enjoys being excessively violent? Check. Jerk? Check. Usually gets away with it? Check. It's all PlayedForLaughs? Check. Oga is definitively one of these.

* HotBlooded: Sometimes. Usually he's too apathetic, though.
* IdiotHero: Frequently pointed out by Furuichi. A RunningGag is that he seems to think everyone else is a bigger idiot than him, and when he encounters anyone particularly clever he asks them ridiculous trivia questions.

* AlmightyJanitor: Despite her excellent combat performance which surpasses that of actual demon soldiers, she's just a nurse, surrogate mother and bodyguard.

* GagBoobs: Bound to happen once in a while, especially if it involves (A) Aoi, who is [[ACupAngst very flat in comparison]] or (B) Furuichi in his fantasies about Hilda. Yuka even calls her "cow tits".
* HateAtFirstSight: Subverted with Aoi Kunieda. They didn't hate each other during their first meeting, but they did develop a rival relationship. However, [[spoiler:when Hilda got amnesia, she became a kind, innocent, sweet and naive girl with an obvious crush on Oga. New Hilda hated Aoi (and Furuichi) at first sight]].
