* AluminumChristmasTrees: Some readers have expressed disbelief that Kate would (or could) have any sort of positive opinion about the military after her dismissal under DADT, let alone still think of herself as a soldier, to the point that some think she should be explicitly antimilitary because of it. However, many real troops discharged under DADT did end up reenlisting after its repeal; while Kate didn't reenlist, her continued, overall favorable view of the armed forces isn't unprecedented for such individuals. Additionally, Kate was raised on an Army base with two career soldiers, which would obviously influence her views on the matter in a positive direction, something that tends to be true of real [[MilitaryBrat Military Brats]].

* WouldHitAGirl: He beat up Kate Kane in a bare-knuckle boxing match during her training.

* BoyishShortHair: As a cadet, she kept her hair just long enough to comb into a side part. In the Rebirth era, it's buzzed almost to her scalp.

* PyrrhicVillainy: He avoids being captured by Batwoman, but gets beaten up during his dealings with her and ultimately disposes of the gold stash he was after, declaring it cursed. Even if he had decided to keep it, Kate had put out an Interpol alert for it, making it impossible for him to sell the coins and rendering his entire venture as Wolf Spider pointless.

She wasn't Kate's sole or even primary reason to be good, but as children she was typically the one to calm Kate down when Kate got excessively angry or violent (such as when Kate gave bullies a pummelling). After she was believed dead, she became a perceived MoralityChainBeyondTheGrave to Kate in the same downplayed sense; not Kate's sole source of morality, but a cautionary voice in her head.

* GadgeteerGenius: He "designs and builds self-replicating nanotech," apparently in his spare time.

* CutHimselfShaving: The day after their first costumed encounter, Evan and Kate bump into each other at a police station, where Evan is trying to cover his tracks by reporting a burglary at his apartment. He explains his bruised face as being from said burglar, when Kate (unbeknowst to her) actually did it.

* A poisonous Arkham inmate who briefly escapes due to a distraction by Wolf Spider.

* TheShrink: Of course. And a good one, too. Despite some initial resistence from Kate, she does eventually cooperate and get some benefit from their sessions, and he shows genuine concern for her after she becomes ensnared by Nocturna.

* ClarkKenting: In ''Shadows of the Bat'', she poses as a psychiatrist at Arkham Tower using only a long (but still red) wig and possibly brown contacts, in addition to adopting a somewhat nervous demeanor.

* KnifeNut: Downplayed. Kate almost never actually uses knives, but does have quite a few in her collection of weapons (including a bolo, a Ka-Bar, and several karambits), and her training flashbacks show she's quite capable with blades.

* KnifeNut: Noted in his profile as an "expert with knives".

* KnifeNut: With a name like that? Of course. She has a collection made up of all sorts of blades.

* BaldOfAwesome: Aside from a mustache to rival Morely's, he's completely clean-shaven.

He and Catherine live in an enormous mansion, but otherwise Jacob seems to have a pretty frugal life, down to using his old West Point drawstring bag as his personal luggage. Like Kate, he has a small collection of cars that are even more modest than hers, and his everyday vehicle varies between a late-80s or early-90s Jeep Cherokee and a Honda CR-V.
