Protagonist of Anime/RebuildOfEvangelion, our readers find our alternate Shinji in the tragic aftermath of Rebuild 3.0, barely functioning as he is dragged to the WILLE fleet by Captain Shikinami. After having a rough time, his luck finally starts to turn around upon having a face-to-face with himself.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero / NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: He ends up triggering two impacts by accident in 3.0, the first because he tried to save a fellow comrade and LoveInterest, the second because he wanted to undo the damage. [[DeconstructedTrope Deconstructed]] as he ends up in an AngstComa and is barely recovering as a direct consequence of the guilt he feels for being involved.
** [[spoiler: NGE!Shinji pulls him out of it, however, by pointing out that Shinji actually [[SubvertedTrope subverts]] these tropes. Had Third Impact not happened, then the Angel would have broken through the Geofront, caused Third Impact, and everyone would have been screwed anyway. Similarly, Fourth Impact happened because he kept getting mixed signals from everyone, as they were either denying him info out of spite, or deliberately misinformed him for their own agenda, until it was too late to do anything about it. Former friend and co-worker of Shinji Ikari, our reader finds her watching a trio of SEELE MP Evas overlooking a duplicate Unit-01 that fell out of the Room of Gauf, as she attempts to drag ROE!Shinji, Rei Q, and herself through the desert to the Wunder, in the aftermath of 3.0

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: 14 years later, she's still just as obnoxious as she was before, calling people demeaning nicknames suck as 'brat', 'idiot', or 'doll', and generally being unfriendly even to the people she's close to. But she keeps a spare set of spectacles for Mari in case she loses them, keeps Shinji and Rei Q safe on the way to the Wunder, and when NGE!Shinji offers to help ROE!Shinji get of his HeroicBSOD, she takes him up on it, albeit in her seemingly uncaring way.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero / PoorCommunicationKills: Trying to kill Shinji, and only attempting to talk him out of pulling the spears when she literally had no other option, was ''not'' the wisest decision she's made. She knows it, and it's likely why she's relatively soft towards Shinji.
* NotGrowingUpSucks / OlderThanTheyLook: Because of the Curse of Eva, she's a 28 year old soldier stuck as a teenager and she's not happy about it. The fact that she suffers 'childish' emotions as a consequence of being perpetually hormonal doesn't help either.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Sacrificed Unit-02 to take down Unit-13. NGE!Shinji is shocked that she did so.

* RunningGag: Both NGE!Shinji and Aria call her Sohryu, and both times she corrects them, the first time with frustration, the second with a bit of shock.

Here, it becomes clear that she's actually something of a TokenGoodTeammate of WILLE, as she ''wants'' to be a good person, [[ShootTheDog but has to compromise with the demands of taking on NERV,]] [[RevengeBeforeReason as well as satisfying her crew.]] [[spoiler: After her HeelRealisation, she starts stepping up and repairing her relationship with Shinji.]]

* TheUnfettered: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted.]] Turns out, she's got way more moral hang ups than anyone suspects, and Ritsuko spends a lot of her time trying to get her to become this. NGE!Shinji points out that she won't be able to beat Gendo as she is, since she's not wholly committed to the task.
* UnwittingPawn: As NGE!Shinji points out, WILLE only got access to Unit-01 and ROE!Shinji because NERV let them. All of their actions, and even their treatment of Shinji, was calculated in advance by Gendo himself, and Misato played along perfectly.

Between injecting Tevos with a tranquilliser for rabid dogs, and considering execution for Shinji in spite of saving her and Misato's life, Shinji's admittance that he doesn't like her much is easy to understand.

* KnowNothingKnowItAll: [[PlayingWithATrope Played with.]] She ''is'' a scientific genius, after all, but there's really no denying that she makes some stupid decisions and assumptions due to not knowing her limits. For one, she doesn't even consider that as an asari, Tevos ''might'' react differently to chemicals than an animal or human would, with near lethal consequences. [[IRejectYourReality She also tries to deny that NGE!Shinji]] was an Eva pilot on the grounds that he [[OlderThanTheyLook hasn't suffered the Curse of Eva,]] without considering that even her knowledge of the Evas is somewhat limited.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Tranquillising Tevos instead gets her into a ''coma'' and very nearly causes brain death, because neither her nor the other WILLE doctors have dealt with an asari's physiology before. This causes a chain of events beginning with ROE!Shinji turning on WILLE, and ending with [[spoiler: Aria and him conquering the organisation.]]

* WouldHurtAChild: Encouraged Misato to decapitate ROE!Shinji with an ExplosiveLeash in 3.0.

* AffablyEvil / WildCard: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed on both counts.]] She's not evil, but she has little real loyalty to WILLE beyond their commitment to saving the world. She'll prevent Aria from taking NGE!Shinji, but only because WILLE would not tolerate her doing her doing otherwise. Outside of that, she proves surprisingly apathetic on what happens to her crew, just watching from the sidelines as Shinji ploughs through them.

* NiceGirl / ThePollyanna: She's perpetually cheerful and full of support, even if she comes across as weird to everyone else. When ROE!Shinji, at the tail end of 3.0, freaks over the idea that there's another him walking around, she comforts him with an explanation, and refers to him as 'Puppy-kun' as a term of endearment.

* PunchClockHero / PunchClockVillain: She's with WILLE because she enjoys piloting Eva, and doesn't have anything against either Shinji despite the two being WILLE's {{Designated Villain}}s. She doesn't even mind that NGE!Shinji is an Angel, but for WILLE, that's a big no-no, even for a loose cannon like her, so she can't willingly let Aria have him back.
