Only two of Maegor's Kingsguard outright defected, and both of them were sent to the Wall. The other members were killed in various ways prior to Maegor's own demise.

* EveryoneHasStandards: Although members of the Kingsguard sometimes act as glorified thugs for their kings, the majority of them generally stick to their oathes to serve their ruler... despite what individual unease they may have (even if they occasionally disagree about who the king or queen is). Yet, Maegor's ''whole Kingsguard'' abandoned him for his excesses and, to this day, the Seven Kingdoms doesn't count it as a BodyguardBetrayal. He was just ''that bad''. Since Maegor's battle was against the Faith itself, and the Seven Kingsguard were knights annointed by the Faith, it could be that they chose the Seven over their King, and felt far less conflicted about where the real authority in that situation actually was. Also, if Aerys pushed the boat out with his mad cruelty enough to incite at least one of his Kingsguard to betray him on the grounds of human decency, Maegor was, by all accounts, cruel enough in his excesses to tug a bloody flotilla. So... no surprise.
