* [[PhysicalGoddess Xadhoom]] from the [[SugarWiki/NeedsMoreLove obscure]] Disney comic [[ComicBook/PaperinikNewAdventures PKNA]]. you thought [[HellSing Alucard]] was overpowered? Think again. Take [[ComicBook/FantasticFour Reed Richard's]] intellect, [[Anime/DragonBallZ Vegeta's]] abrasiveness, ComicBook/CaptainAtom's Matter/Energy powers, Add it all together and you're only just beginning to scratch the surface of Xadhoom's complex personality.

** Agreed. The Punisher has balls of steel, which is confirmed by the fact that he has his own site on BadassOfTheWeek, and he's often the only person that even dares to bring complete monsters to justice. Also, despite being one of the most brutal Anti Heroes out there, he manages to PetTheDog often enough to avoid becoming a monster himself.

* Kate Kane (AKA ComicBook/{{Batwoman}}) is awesome! She's a proud lesbian who refused to deny her sexuality, even though it came at the expense of serving in the military. She's strong, incredibly brutal, and regularly faces opponents well out of her weight class (including supernatural enemies) and overcomes them through tenacity, intelligence, and grit. She's a horribly sad and angry person deep down, which gives her wonderfully rich layers of characterization, especially sense unlike many characters, she's able to harness that anger and channel it into productive venues (namely, beatdowns). And she's utterly independent of Batman (who, by the way, is her cousin) to boot. She doesn't take his orders and doesn't consider herself part of the Bat-family, even though she'll offer a hand when needed. For the most part, she just doesn't give a flying red slap if Batman approves of her or not, and it's ''so cool''.

* Even though the storyline was [[BaseBreaker controversial as all get-out]], there's a reason that [[ComicBook/DoctorOctopus Otto Octavius]] as the ComicBook/SuperiorSpiderMan has his fans. An AntiHeroSubstitute Spider-Man is one thing, but Otto was so [[NotSoDifferent uncannily similar to Peter Parker]] that it was genuinely ''chilling'' to see him take up the mantle of Spider-Man. Throughout the 33 issues that he donned the webs, you really got a feel for how disastrous it might be if the radioactive spider had bitten someone with all of Peter's fortitude and intelligence, but none of his humility, idealism or sense of responsibility--and it really made you appreciate Peter all the more when he returned to web-slinging. And aside all that...Otto had his own private army of Spider-{{mooks}}, Spider-bots and Spider-{{mecha}} in the classic red-and-blue Spiderman colors, and we got to watch him personally demolish Wilson Fisk's stronghold with them. The guy might have been a dick, but...if that's not EvilIsCool, I don't know what is.

** And Wonder Woman's daughters-by-inspiration, the [[Creator/ChrisClaremont Claremazons]]. You know who I mean, ''ComicBook/{{X-Men}}'' fans. Storm, Psylocke, Rogue, Phoenix, [[MyFriendsAndZoidberg even Kitty Pryde]]...The X-Women rock. 'Nuff said.

* This Troper and her sister have started a "Hugs for [[ComicBook/{{X-Men}} Nightcrawler]]" campaign.

* Lets not forget the other Flash Family. Jay's an awesome old timer, Barry's a loveable nice guy and Wally? He is the character that redefined the Flash; he gave SO much to the title, that its sickening that DC won't let him out to play any more. Wally West is that kind of person who needs to be published again. He needs love, damn it!

* {{Magneto}}, the second greatest comic book supervillain and the quintessential comic book WellIntentionedExtremist.

* Steve Rogers, CaptainAmerica. He really is just the best.

* ComicBook/{{Cyclops}} is the man. With the death of CaptainAmerica, he became the best damn leader in the MarvelUniverse. People complain about him being TheStoic, but that just makes him more badass. Beating up his whole team to teach them a lesson is no problem for him. He needs at least one broken rib to make it challenging. And female telepaths just can't keep their hands off him.

* [[SinCity John Hartigan. Marv. Dwight. Nancy. Miho.]] And those are just the characters I can think of off the top of my head from TheMovie (it's been too long since I read those comics...). Even Kevin has his moments...let's just shorten this and say the only characters from Sin City I don't like are all the Roarks.

* Atom Eve...oh, wait...ok, then...Kitty Pry(damn)...Boom Boom(muther#!@%er)...why do I read these things, again? Ok, well...[[Comicbook/{{X-Men}} X-23]] rocks, so she'll probably get killed by (sucka ass) Daken and his fancy murasma claw...ugh...

* ComicBook/LexLuthor. Greatest Criminal Mind of Our Time. Superman's arch-nemesis, bar none (sorry Zod). IGN's 4th-greatest supervillain of all time (outranked only by Magneto, Dr Doom and SelfDemonstrating/TheJoker). The perfect foil to Superman. [[SupermanRedSon A human being who dares fight a god, surely the greatest of his kind.]] The epitome of the GreenEyedMonster. Second only to Dr Doom in the Never Gives Up Awards. I digress.

* ''{{Supreme}}'' is probably my favorite comic and character in the world. There's just something about him, the fact that even though he's a blatant pastiche it's still new and fresh somehow.

** [[ComicBook/Batgirl 2000 Cassandra Cain]] was raised by an assassin to be the perfect killer. She was abused in ways that would make Tywin Lannister disgusted. She has a background that would work perfectly as a FreudianExcuse for a mass murderer. But instead of being a WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds, she continues to be possibly the most morally upright member of the Bat-Family. Despite her HeroWorship of Bruce, she makes it clear that it is not him that she is really loyal to, but the justice that he represents. She is nothing but kind, strong-willed, and utterly devoted to ThouShaltNotKill. That kind of strength of will, that moral courage, in spite of her horrible past, is why Cassandra is tied with Wally West for my favorite DC character.

* SquirrelGirl!

** I would say that [[Main/CharacterDerailment pre-One Year Later]] Batgirl is even better, although marginally.

* Helena Bertinelli, AKA ComicBook/{{Huntress}}. Picture Batman if he'd been a Sicilian mobster's daughter and never developed that "no killing" rule, and that's essentially her. She's a CombatPragmatist who can go toe-to-toe with opponents who far outrank her, she's an expert shot with a crossbow, she's not afraid to defy Batman in his own city and dispense justice on her own terms, and she's wonderfully [[DeadpanSnarker snarky]] to boot. But the real reason I love her so much is that she's a {{Determinator}} to the bone. She's taken bullets and brutal beatings in order to save people, and wouldn't hesitate to go all the way and give her life if it meant others would live. ''That's'' the mark of a superhero to me.

* Eugene "Flash" Thompson aka the the fourth {{ComicBook/Venom}} has become one of this troper's favorite comic book characters ever in a very short amount of time. I like him so much because of the fact that he is more like Spider-Man than the actual Spider-Man in recent years, Flash goes through so much crap (from [[HandicappedBadass lossing his legs in Iraq]] to DemonicPossession), [[IronWoobie yet he still wants to help people]] because [[AscendedFanboy he was inspired by Spider-Man all those years ago]]. That's a really inspiring character and you really want to root for him to succeed in the struggle between him and the symbiote(and possibly the Demon)

* This Troper became a newly formed (pun intended) ComicBook/PlasticMan fan... He is so creative when he expresses his elastic powers visually. Plus, his recent TV incarnation is voiced by none other than the guy who does SpongeBob.

* [[Main/ScottPilgrim Knives Chau]] is one of the most adorable characters in anything I've ever read. Wallace Wells is all kinds of awesome too.

* [[NewGods Mister Miracle]], creation of [[JackKirby Jack Freaking Kirby]], master escape artist, and lucky, lucky husband of Big Barda.Oh, and did I mention his name? [[MeaningfulName Scott]] [[AwesomeMccoolname Free.]] Hell Yeah.

* Orion of the NewGods. Perhaps one of the defining examples of an Anti Hero. In fact, he's barely a hero. He borders on becoming a full villain at multiple points. It's clear that he only has a loose grip on his own sanity and could easily lose it at any time. In fact, he does on a few occasions! "Orion is his own monster" indeed! And yet, this makes him a very compelling and interesting character who's a ton of fun to watch.

* [[{{Transmetropolitan}} Spider fucking Jerusalem]]. What a perfectly written character. He's a mean, spastic, violent, crude drug abuser, and you can't help but like him. Why? Because he's also noble, articulate, brilliantly clever, surprisingly kind, and absolutely dedicated to the truth. He's surrounded by a decaying, corrupt, materialistic and brutal society and yet remains consistently optimistic because he knows he can change things. What makes him so awesome is that he goes ahead and does all the insane things we wish we could do to go about fixing the world. [[CrazyAwesome The religion convention]]...[[LargeHam The Chair Leg of]] [[CrowningMOmentOfAwesome Truth]]... He's one of the most brilliantly unique protagonists in comics.

* {{Deadpool}}, The Merc with a Mouth who's [[CloudCuckoolander not exactly the saniest guy in the asylum]] but is hilarious for [[NoFourthWall constantly smashing the fourth wall]].

* [[JusticeSocietyOfAmerica Abigail Mathilda "Ma" Hunkel.]] One of the first female super heroes. She is made of Golden Age win.

** Don't forget Rorschach, a [[NeverGiveUp uncomprimising]], [[CombatPragmatist pragmatistic]], [[SociopathicHero sociopathic]] VigilanteMan with a constantly shifting mask who's the UnintentionallySympathetic grandfather of [[AntiHero antiheroes]].

* "I'm [[BlueBeetle Paco]], and I'm going to [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome demonstrate my awesome]] by hitting you with this stick until you get the *&^&^ off my planet." In addition to that, we would also like the say that Jaime Reyes is adorkable and made of win.

**** Why hasn't anyone mentioned Scarecrow yet? The dude invented a toxin with which he can make you experience your worst nightmares. And there was this one time that he didn't use his Fear Gas, just to prove that he can be pants-shittingly scary without it. His reputation gained him [[BlackestNight a spot in SINESTRO CORPS]]! Now if that isn't badass, I don't know what is.

* How about Mera? Ever since BlackestNight, I've been really intrigued by this character. She's just so powerful and awesome, with the right amount of angst and self-doubt. Per the Blackest Night page, there's talk of a Mera spin-off. Please, DC, give her one!
