Naturally, the topic of "Should Deadshot return in sequels" can be quite vicious.
* Surprisingly for her character, Harley Quinn has been especially divisive in this game, mostly from a story perspective. While some fans like her CharacterDevelopment [[AdaptationalHeroism into an actual hero]], as well as her brief, but interesting relationship with the now-long-dead Joker, others find it more questionable. Given how she was at least partially responsible for causing the destruction of Metropolis, [[CynicismCatalyst and in turn the terrible things that]] [[StartOfDarkness began the Injustice universe]], whether she was too EasilyForgiven is a hot debate, especially since nobody seems to hate her anywhere near the levels of [[HateSink The Joker]], or even [[HeelFaceTurn Green Lantern]] [[ReformedButRejected and The Flash]], and is in fact ''trusted'' wholeheartedly by people like ''Batman'' to the point of [[spoiler:being inducted into the Justice League]] in her arcade mode ending. Similar to the Joker, her more ''[[Film/SuicideSquad2016 Suicide Squad film]]''-inspired appearance and attitude don't help to reduce the arguments.
* The [[Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles Ninja Turtles]] became this the moment they were revealed. Some fans think they're a fantastic choice, others think the game should have fewer {{Guest Fighter}}s (since four of the ten DLC characters aren't from DC), and still others are upset because they wanted ''different'' Guest Fighters (with ComicBook/{{Spawn}}, [[ComicBook/{{Watchmen}} Rorschach]] and [[ComicBook/TeenTitans Beast Boy]], winners of official Twitter popularity polls, being the most commonly cited).
* The Enchantress splits the fans for similar reasons as Deadshot in that she is perceived as being in the game due to ''Film/SuicideSquad2016'', which notoriously features the character with a heavily criticized portrayal. Fans are split between being angry at her inclusion for this reason or excited due to the character's power set and being a more obscure character than most of the cast.
* Like Superman, Wonder Woman is this for many for fans of the character. Like with Superman, some argue that her portrayal as an unapologetic LadyMacbeth figure is fine as it's set in an AlternateUniverse and liberties should be allowed. The other camp arguing that it being set in an AU only goes so far as unlike Superman, she is portrayed as far more villainous but has far less of a motivation for her actions. There's also those who dislike turning the premier female superhero into a SatelliteLoveInterest for a disinterested Superman. That she also gets told off by Harley Quinn for her actions despite Quin's [[StartOfDarkness direct and complicit involvement in the events that started the whole mess in the Injustice universe]] is also a BerserkButton for some.
