Because even though he's pitiful, still has parent issues and is nowhere near a role model, if you're going to have a good quality, it might be as well be protecting innocent kids.

* In the ''Barney's Great Adventure'' review, he's sincerely trying to figure out what doesn't work about [[Series/BarneyAndFriends Barney the Dinosaur]] as a children's media character and trying to figure out [[PeripheryHatedom why people hated him so much]], and it boils down to a simple ArmorPiercingQuestion: can you imagine Barney playing any emotion other than happy? He further details out how tons of other children's media like ''Series/MisterRogersNeighborhood'' and ''Series/SesameStreet'' have covered sad topics like death, disabilities, tragedy and loss, while holding onto the essence of those characters and teaching something important. Barney's PerpetualSmiler design and personality prevent him from doing that, making him wear out his welcome more than other media for young children. And bear in mind, Critic nails down this aspect of him after he's been onscreen for ''less than a minute''.

* The end of the ''Film/ScoobyDoo'' review, in which Critic recreates the iconic ending of the ''Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration'' GrandFinale, with his past and future selves joining him in a HeroicSacrifice to save the world from the horrible movie they all watched, with a perfect segue into the SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming|Moments}} reenactment of the iconic poker game from that episode.

* Critic doing the entire ''Film/{{Transformers}}'' (Raiders of the Story Arc) review in a Peter Cullen impersonation. While cosplaying as Optimus Prime.

* Critic acknowledging that the reason "[[WesternAnimation/{{Coraline}}" held up so well after all these years was because it wasn't afraid to be scary for kids ''and'' adults. As he so puts it, this movie ''earned'' its PG rating.

* Naming [[Literature/{{Twilight}} Bella Swan]] the number 1 [[DamselInDistress Dumbass in Distress]], topping even [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Princess Fucking Peach.]] This quote sums it up:

** The entire video is a big CMOA. Because it's a mature editorial, the Critic gives a rather well-explained and rational explanation as to why people have such a hatred of the ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'' franchise. He also points out that people have strong reactions (negative or positive) to all sorts of pop culture phenomenon, but they eventually move on and learn that there's no need to make such a fuss over something as insignificant as a book/movie series.

** Pointing out the flaw in thinking that no Asian-American actors are big names by mentioning just a few movies that [[StarMakingRole made their actors stars]], like Creator/DanielRadcliffe in ''Film/HarryPotter'', Creator/DaisyRidley and Creator/JohnBoyega in ''Film/TheForceAwakens'', or Christopher Reeve in ''Film/{{Superman}}''.

** Calling out how the teacher is a strong smart woman in reality, but Barry's dreams always turn her into a DistressedDamsel.

* Naming [[Literature/{{Twilight}} Bella Swan]] the number 1 [[DistressedDamsel Dumbass in Distress]], topping even [[Franchise/SuperMarioBros Princess Fucking Peach.]] This quote sums it up:

* At the end of ''WesternAnimation/TheSwanPrincess'', Tamara and Malcolm manipulating Critic into reviewing ''WesternAnimation/TheLorax'' because they're so bitter about his mistreatment of them.
* Similar to ''The Last Airbender'' review's message of 'how a bad adaptation doesn't ruin a great franchise', in ''WesternAnimation/TheLorax'', we have the Critic calling out the movie for showing nothing that respects the audience as thinking people and how people will be coming back to the books, culminating in:

* A meta example. After his review of ''Film/TheRoom'' was attacked by [[FanNickname Johnfromtheroommoviedotcom's]] lawyers, Doug put it back up on Blip.tv. Remembering the reason for making the website was to be protected by fair use, this seems doubly awesome.
** And now it's back on the site. He won against Wiseau's lawyers!
** In sharp contrast to Wiseau's whining, the actress who played Lisa had this to say after watching it:

** Nostalgia Chick's [[WhatTheHellHero rant]] about Christian's dickish treatment of Satine, insulting and humiliating her when she was actually being CruelToBeKind. She ''does'' mention that Satine's actions were objectively stupid, but Christian's bitter reaction [[ThisIsUnforgivable is unforgivable in comparison]].
--->'''Chick''': For as many times as he sings about "love", he treats her in the most insulting, dirty, mean-spirited way that you can treat a human being! And the dwarf's over here like "Oh, she wouldn't do that!" and yet ''him'', the one who's in love with her can't figure this out?!
*** She later points out that ''the Duke'' was more gracious about having been played than Christian was - he went into a murderous frenzy, but simply walked away after he was disarmed, rather than calling Satine a whore.
** Let's also look at this from a more meta perspective. Just the fact that Doug managed to piece together a roughly 45 minute long video, packed with scripted songs and cameos, speaks volumes about the effort that was put into it, not to mention the guts it took to tackle such a well renowned movie as ''Moulin Rouge''.

** One more meta: Doug had the balls to let his fans, people he didn't know in the slightest, climb all over his body and pretend to torture him in an occasionally suggestive way. Anyone else would have been scared about letting themselves be too vulnerable.

** In a meta example, the editorial has him talking about how ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'' portrays multiple issues so well. In a later vlog, Doug said that he hadn't watched a lot of the episodes shown and it was essentially just an assumption based on what he already guessed. But! He turned out to be right about all the things he said (the show being relatable regarding abandonment, anxiety, sexuality, inferiority, depression and control) and of course talked about relating when he and Rob got to said episodes.

** Meta-awesome, but the Analysts have got new girls to manipulate (who thankfully look after themselves). Which means Hyper has at least character-developed out of being used by them like she was before.

* A meta example, Creator/RalphBakshi [[ApprovalOfGod liking the]] ''Film/CoolWorld'' [[ApprovalOfGod review.]]
** The Critic [[ShownTheirWork showed his work]] by having Rob!Bakshi elaborate on the original idea that Bakshi came up with near the end - a HalfHumanHybrid (the other half being 'toon) goes into the real world to get vengeance because the father [[DisappearedDad abandoned him]].

* In the in-between of ''Balto'', Doug reveals that their May review of ''Film/SuicideSquad2016'' is going to premiere in a real theatre.
** Speaking of the ''Balto'' review, there's a bit of meta-awesome in the fact that [[https://twitter.com/Jimcummingsacme/status/845002199344136192 Jim Cummings himself]] got a kick out of the Steele Spicer segment, even if he wasn't quite sure what the context for it was.
** The way the little pigtailed girl constantly calls out [[AbusiveParents Aunt Despair]] on her story not making sense, considering we usually just see the kids comply with or cower from her awful behavior.

* Given how explosive the Bay rant was in ''Film/PearlHarbor'', having the stones in “When Is A Movie Just A Movie” to admit the CriticalResearchFailure, explain better his criticisms and realize he went too far.

* ''Butchering'' the ''Neverending Story 3'' DVD with a crowbar. "[[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments I'M FUCKING THE DVD!]]"

** Plus the bookending awesome moments, first gearing up for the review ''Film/HotFuzz'' style. Then, well, how do you top going [[UnstoppableRage batfuck berserk]] with a crowbar on ''Film/TheNeverendingStory 3''? Well, you don't. You go for a different kind of awesome by calling on ''[[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill the]] [[Franchise/StarWars Death Star]]'' to destroy it.

** With this, the "''Film/{{Transformers}} 4'' Auditions" accompaniment and the video about the Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles being mutants, Doug's made his disgust with Bay's penchant towards the MaleGaze blatantly obvious.
