* The aftermath of the Casino dungeon is just one big roller coaster ride. The Phantom Thieves suspected Akechi all along and wiretapped his phone, soon overhearing that he would only cooperate with the Phantom Thieves just to stab them all in the back. To get one up on Akechi however, the Phantom Thieves make one insane gamble. The protagonist intentionally gets caught, and everything from that point on hinged on him appealing to Sae's sense of justice and Akechi following his own plan to make his move right after she left the interrogation room. Akechi "murders" the protagonist and the guard at the door when in reality, Akechi just murdered Sae's Cognitions of them in her Palace who were an exact copy of the real thing because Sae just saw them in their current state and location. The protagonist effectively cheated death. Akechi then went on to announce that the leader of the Phantom Thieves is dead to the world due to suicide, with him being none the wiser that the protagonist was still sitting in the interrogation room, with a truly well-deserved and badass smirk on his face. This entire sequence is just a thrill ride to witness.

** A rather overlooked one just before that: thanks to a god-like Treasure and the people's utter lack of care, Joker and his friends have just been RetGone from the world. Justine and Caroline, who had grown to be friendly towards him, berate and mock him for his failure right before Igor tells him how he failed and how humanity is doomed to ruin, ordering his execution. And while they're shocked, both wardens comply and prepare for his death. Joker's alone, his friends are probably gone from existence, and all his efforts are for nothing while death approaches from two of his biggest allies. So what does he do? Gets back up anyway, his rebellious will summoning his Phantom Thief costume inside the Velvet Room, shattering his prison door behind him and DEFYING Igor's order for his execution. Not only that, he withstands the combined force of two beings whose power is only succeeded by the Treasure who defeated him, and Igor, through sheer willpower long enough to snap Justine and Caroline out of it. The entire ending to the game happened simply because Joker was THAT defiant.

*** Back at the battle, the Thieves manage to stand up once again, inspired by everyone cheering them on. As the belief tracker hits 100%, Joker summons Arsène and breaks his chains, causing the persona to disappear in a flash of light. At first, everyone thinks that nothing happened, and the BigBad begins to berate their failed attempt... then DramaticThunder sounds, dark clouds spreading across the sky and plunging the whole city into nighttime. Then Joker's's Ultimate Persona, Satanael, descends from the heavens and he's MASSIVE, towering over the Thieves and standing as tall as (perhaps even moreso than) the gargantuan BigBad, wearing an intense, focused DeathGlare as he spreads his arms wide.

** In the same scene, Eiko tries to desperately defend Tsukasa, despite how painfully clear his crimes are. Makoto's response is to slap Eiko in the face and then tells her to accept the truth that's in front of her. Makoto isn't just defending a friend, she's also forcing her friend to see how stupid she's being and to the accept reality of the situation. While Makoto thinks she may gone too far later, anyone can agree that it was the right move at the time.

** Joker and Akechi get in on the action during the third semester. The two are on a rooftop during a stormy night - Akechi makes himself go psychotic before the duo charges at the Shadow, Akechi running and Joker using his grappling hook to pull himself closer. Joker launches himself into the air before doing a spinning slash on the Shadow, leaving Akechi free to hack and cut away at it, finishing the flurry with a powerful slash as the screen turns bright red. After all of that, Joker puts the Shadow out of its misery with a single shot, delivered without even sparing it a glance. Akechi then stalks towards the camera like a total badass. The fact that they improvised this when they were outnumbered also makes it all the more amazing.

* Futaba and Sojiro get a subtle one in Rank 8 of the Hierophant Confidant. Previously, when Youji Isshiki had showed up at Leblanc, Futaba had a panic attack out of fear of him, and even the more composed Sojiro usually had an OhCrap response upon seeing Youji. In this event, Sojiro immediately tells an angry Youji to "...Leave now, or else I'll be forced to contact the police," and isn't at all intimidated by Youji's threats, while Futaba stands up to Youji on Sojiro's behalf, only cowering when Youji tries to hit her. It goes to show that by helping Futaba and Sojiro grow closer, you're also giving them the courage to stand up to Youji.

** In the first battle, with him and Azathoth, the two of them are protected by three tentacles. One of the tentacles will block anything thrown to Maruki, one will constantly heal him, and the last will cast buffs. If all three tentacles exist, anything directed to Azathoth will be reduced to ScratchDamage. And Maruki always revives them after every turn, so you'll have to constantly fight them back as you fight the boss. However, the trick is that the tentacles all have weaknesses, and since there are three of them, that means that the party can perform full party Baton Pass chains to lay the hurt down on either Azathoth or Maruki.

* Morgana gets one when Shadow Okumura tricks the party except for him and Haru into a force field. When Haru refuses to join her father and leave her captive teammates, Shadow Okumura attempts to sway Morgana instead, bribing him with the promise of fame and fortune. Morgana, who'd spent the last few weeks struggling with feeling useless in comparison to Futaba, takes out his slingshot and shoots the remote for the force field out of the Shadow's hand, saving the entire party. But before that, he has a few choice words for Shadow Okumura...

*** Back at the battle, the Thieves manage to stand up once again, inspired by everyone cheering them on. As the belief tracker hits 100%, Joker summons Arsène and breaks its chains, who disappears in a flash of light.

** It's also incredibly cathartic to see the corrupt police force collectively shit themselves and flip out as they realize they've been played like fiddles. Combined with Sae fooling the Conspirators into believing she was manipulated as well via change of heart, and their frantic attempts to search Leblanc in a desperate attempt to find Joker when the Phantom Thieves are already long gone and about to go straight for Shido's treasure, the entire sequence after the calling card announcement becomes incredibly satisfying to watch.
