Sharon at least has a weapon. He's just a computer tech. His initial hesitation makes it more impressive because he's clearly scared shitless, and you can see from his expression - and the way he's breathing - that he is convinced he is going to get shot, and is mentally preparing himself to go down for his beliefs. Just a normal guy, with a gun to his head, and still doesn't give in.

Then Cap notices that a few of them have their hands on their weapons. One is ''sweating with panic'', and the guy right in front of him has his shoulders set. Also, they've shuffled around so that he's surrounded, meaning that they're planning to attack him. When three ''more'' great big mooks crowd in, the look on his face is ''identical'' to when that movie theater heckler back in TFA wouldn't shut up; "The day's rotten enough, and now there's going to be a big stupid fight. Why can't we all just get along?" He sighs and says:

** It should also be noted that it's been a while since Sam was part of the military, meaning his hand-to-hand skills are most likely rusty. The fact that he's able to ambush Rumlow and get in a couple of good strikes is no small thing.

* A shout out needs to be given out to Maria Hill not only successfully faking Fury's death, but doing so without arousing the suspicions of the Black Widow, who's arguably the greatest spy in the world.

** There is also the implied statement in that line - again, not a threat, boast, warning or intimidation tactic, just a matter-of-fact statement from an old soldier: "If you don't get out and attack me, I ''will'' beat your ass into next tuesday." And then proceeds to do exactly that.

** Addendum: Nat shoots out his goggles. The lens is broken. She uses his shadow to pinpoint his location and ''shoots him in the eye.'' If the Soldier hadn't been wearing goggles, he'd be finished. If she'd hit him a little higher and gotten a [[BoomHeadshot headshot]], the movie would have ended right then and there... hell, there wouldn't be a movie! Natasha comes within a ''fraction of an inch'' of killing the Winter Soldier. Using his ''shadow.''

* Sam makes ''his'' entrance into the bridge fight by taking out a HYDRA machine-gunner with nothing more than a combat knife. In a matter of seconds he catches the guy by surprise, punches him in the face, cuts through his rifle strap and throat and punches him off the bridge--and then he takes up the guy's rifle and starts providing cover fire. Oh, and during the whole mess he somehow manages to re-don his jetpack, just in time to save Steve's life.

*** And during the ensuing shoot out Agent 13 still manages to kick out the chair from under that unnamed S.H.I.E.L.D. technician so Rumlow's shot misses him. [[spoiler:And he survives the film, as he reappears in ''Film/AvengersAgeOfUltron'' and gets a name, Cameron Klein.]]
