Supe's not lying when he says that he could have killed Batman anytime he wanted, [[spoiler:until Batman hit him with Kryptonite gas, which brought his power level down to human levels]].

* Superman pulls forth some fighting spirit to charge Batman in a weakened state.

* Superman engages in an epic BeamOWar with [[spoiler:Doomsday]]. [[spoiler:Doomsday]] wins and throws Superman into a nearby building, but give props to Superman for trying. Superman then quickly recovers and prepares to counterattack.

* The same for Creator/GalGadot. Her casting was initially met with skepticism, but her part in the climax left quite an impression. The success of [[Film/WonderWoman2017 her movie]] then cemented her in the role.

* A bit later, she outdoes herself, when she puts herself between Clark and ''the Goddamn Batman, who was in the middle of a PTSD moment and about to kill the former'',to tell Bruce that Martha is Clark's mother.

** The way Batman handles the goons in the warehouse with the amount of rough punches he pulls out. Many people praised it for not being a bland take-down but rather looking like a live-action fight scene taken from the ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamSeries''. All in all, it's a clear improvement over the fight scenes of ''Film/TheDarkKnightTrilogy''.

Really all the Kryptonite gas did was make Superman weaker and heighten his nociceptive sensitivity, because it attacked him from the inside.]] As a result the fight manages to illustrate what Batman of New Earth states in ''ComicBook/BatmanHush'' "If Clark wanted to, he could use his [[SuperSpeed superspeed]] and squish me into the cement. But I know how he thinks. Even more than the Kryptonite, he's got one big weakness. Deep down, Clark's essentially a good person... and deep down, I'm not." Superman ''is'' stronger, but Batman is infinitely ''smarter'' and more importantly, ''more devious.''

*** Four of the thugs are GenreSavvy enough to forgo MookChivalry and rush Batman from every direction at once with knives drawn. [[NoSell Batman doesn't care.]] With [[BareHandedBladeBlock just his gauntlets]], he's able to deflect and counterattack so swiftly that the fight is over in less than a minute.
