Watching these specials is a trip through Anime animation history itself; the art is usually shared with other anime studios, and often follows whatever art style trend that studio is currently using. DependingOnTheArtist has affected Fujiko the most, but none of the cast is immune to the effect. Because Lupin is a franchise beloved by Japan, the specials are usually kept more to the kid-friendly {{Shonen}} genre, rather than the true-to-source {{Seinen}} genre. A fan observation is that if Lupin's shirt is Black, character deaths will involve {{Gore}}. But if his shirt is Blue, a DisneyVillainDeath is most likely.
