** Also for many, Creator/LiamNeeson and Creator/TildaSwinton as Aslan and the White Witch, respectively. And holy crap!? Creator/EddieIzzard voicing Reepicheep?! Unfortunately, Eddie won't be reprising the role, but Creator/SimonPegg will be replacing him and may be just as awesome.

** Colin Trevorrow has confirmed there will be no genetic hybrids in ''Jurassic World 3''. JP is all about real dinosaurs again!

* Marvel's ''ComicBook/{{Runaways}}'' film was met with the normal amounts of trepidation. However when the casting notices failed to mention that Nico was Asian American you could almost here the collective fandom about to draw breath to scream. However, before they could Marvel issued another press release specifically stating that they were looking for an Asian American actress and the press release would be adjusted accordingly. This not only gave the fandom the idea that Marvel were trying to stay true to the original comic but [[Film/TheLastAirbender it wouldn't be a repeat of other recent adaptaions]].

* A new ''Franchise/{{Ghostbusters}}'' movie? That's cool. Wait, Creator/ElizaDushku? And not as some heroine, either, ''as one of the new Ghostbusters?!?'' This one may have induced ''actual'' orgasms.

* A new ''Film/ChildsPlay'' movie? And it's not goofy and jokey?

* ''Film/BillAndTed 3''. Creator/KeanuReeves and Alex Winter will be returning as Bill and Ted, with the original creator/writer duo of Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon as well. To further cement things, in an interview Winter said that the movie will retain the spirit of the originals without giving into "retro cynicism".

** After the initial cast revealed that Daisy Ridley was the only new female main character, fans were afraid that the sequels would be victim of TheSmurfettePrinciple like it happened in the previous two trilogies (even if these movies at least will two female main characters instead of just one). Fortunately it was shortly announced that it wouldn't be the case, as more women in leading roles were announced. And among those women are Lupita Nyong'o, who's an Oscar winner, and Gwnedolyne Christie, well known for her role as [[TVSeries/GameOfThrones Brienne of Tarth]].

* ''Film/{{Justice League|2017}}'' (which was more of "ExecutiveMeddling: The Movie" than Creator/ZackSnyder's own) left a bad taste in pretty much everyone's mouth back in 2017. Then, in May 2020... ''Film/ZackSnydersJusticeLeague'' was announced for release on Creator/HBOMax! The [=#ReleaseTheSnyderCut=] fandom won its crusade.

* Four words: Release The Snyder Cut. Ever since ''Justice League'' was released in theaters to a disappointing reception, fans (and even the film's cast) have been clamoring for Warner Bros. to release director Zack Snyder's intended version, since he had to leave production after a family tragedy and Joss Whedon took over. On May 20, 2020, Snyder, who was hosting a watch party showing of ''Man of Steel'', announced that ''Zack Snyder's Justice League'' would indeed to released on HBO Max in 2021. The fandom, and the internet in general, went berserk.

* The ''VideoGame/WorldOfWarcraft'' movie will be directed by Creator/SamRaimi, of ''Franchise/EvilDead'', ''Film/SpiderMan1'' and ''[[Series/XenaWarriorPrincess Xena]]'' fame. YES.

* A live-action ''Disney/BeautyAndTheBeast''? The original film is perfection, is this really necessary?... Wait, Creator/EmmaWatson as Belle? Creator/EmmaThompson as Mrs. Potts? Creator/IanMcKellen as Cogsworth? Creator/JoshGad as Lefou? All right, Disney, ''now'' you have my attention.

** When the teaser to ''Film/TheRiseOfSkywalker'' was released, the fandom reacted with excitement to Emperor Palpatine's laugh. It is unclear how much of the fandom connected him with the reassuring voiceover that "no one is ever really gone."

* It’s so hard to be excited for Franchise/StarWars anymore after all the controversy over Film/TheLastJedi. Honestly, I’m just watching the trailer for [[Film/TheRiseOfSkywalker Episode IX]] out of obligation. Yeah, yeah, Rey vs. Kylo’s TIE Fighter, Kylo bodyslamming someone and reforging his helmet, sure, sure... Lando flying the Falcon with Chewie, Poe and Threepio on some sort of deset skiff, blah blah... heartwarming scene with Leia, voiceover from Luke, OK, OK... “No one is ever really gone...” ''Wait.'' ['[[EvilLaughter iconic cackling ]]'] Oh. My. God. '''PALPATINE’S''' ''RETURNING IN SOME CAPACITY!''

* When the cast for [[TheFilmOfTheBook the film of]] ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'' was announced, to say that fans went into an uproar would be an understatement. From complaints that [[Creator/RobertPattinson Robert]] "[[Film/HarryPotter Cedric Diggory]]" [[Creator/RobertPattinson Pattinson]] wasn't good looking enough to play Edward, to people whining that Bella was not being played by [[Creator/EmilyBrowning Emily]] [[Film/ASeriesofUnfortunateEvents "Violet Baudelaire"]] [[Creator/EmilyBrowning Browning]], there was backlash to be seen miles away. And then promotional pictures, trailers and behind-the-scenes stories came out, winning back the fandom's support. Even so, there remained a [[UnpleasableFanbase small, but nonetheless vocal, faction]] still [[AccentuateTheNegative complaining about anything they could think of.]] All of them still went and saw the movie on the day it came out.

** Though it's often forgotten because many fans love to hate the prequels, ''Film/ThePhantomMenace'' was greeted with just as much joy and anticipation as ''Film/TheForceAwakens.''

* The golden rule of horror movie marketing is this: if interest in your film is wavering, and people are responding to the marketing in the wrong way, going for an R rating rather than a "watered down" PG-13 will get a lot of horror fans on your movie's side. Even better is getting into fights with the MPAA over a potential NC-17 rating, or with other countries' {{media watchdog}}s and {{censorship bureau}}s over a potential {{ban|nedInChina}} -- that's an easy way to tell people that your movie has [[BloodierAndGorier "extreme"]] written all over it.

It was considered a success by the fandom that the director announced that the movie would be delayed so Sonic would be redesigned.
