* "[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/1857017/1/The-New-Teacher The New Teacher]]": Peter Parker successfully applies for a teaching position at the Xavier Institute, and at first only Logan is aware that their new teacher is Spider-Man. Over time the rest of the staff and students become friendly with their new colleague, until Peter admits his real identity after helping stop the Brotherhood's latest attack on the Institute (although a few others learnt his secret beforehand, such as Kitty walking in on him changing out of his costume and Rogue recalling memories she absorbed from Spider-Man in a previous encounter). While Peter isn't an official member of the X-Men, he is far closer to the team than he has ever been in canon, to the extent that [[spoiler:he and Mary Jane essentially adopt X-23 and the X-Men help rescue Peter from a twisted alliance of his four main Goblin-themed enemies (Norman Osborn, Roderick Kingsley, Jason Macendale and the Demogoblin), two of whom have been resurrected for this crisis]].

** Nick Fury was the one who recruited Agents Richard and Mary Parker (Peter Parker's parents) into SHIELD in canon, but it's never been established how well they knew each other (with it being implied that their relationship was strictly professional). In [[https://archiveofourown.org/works/52879939/chapters/133864879#workskin Chapter 29]], it's shown that Fury was a trusted friend of the Parkers, and that Richard and Mary trusted him with making sure that, should [[DoomedByCanon anything happen to them]], he'd make sure that custody of Petra was given to Ben and May (though she wasn't with them [[DoomedByCanon for]] [[DeathByAdaptation long...]])
** In canon, the Agents Parker saved Logan from being interrogated/tortured by the Baroness, and he saved their lives shortly after (and being the first one to congratulate the Parkers when they learned that Mary was pregnant). It isn't established how close the three were. In this fic Logan was one of the Parkers' closest friends, to the point that they invited him over for Christmas once or twice and introduced him to baby Petra. He tells Petra as much when he meets her, and [[TellMeAboutMyFather tells her stories about her parents when she asks]].
** In canon, Doctor Octopus, Doctor Curt Conners, and Doctor Baxter Stockman never met. Here, the three were college friends (although the friendship fell apart after [[StartOfDarkness Ock had his lab accident and Stockman was fired]]).

*** Peter is ChildhoodFriends with MJ, Susan, and Johnny, and has been close to Felicia and Silver since he was at least a tween. In the comics, he doesn't meet any of them until much later in life.

** Jessica is friends with Liz and Sally rather than being a social outcast who never interacted with them.

* In ''FanFic/APrizeForThreeEmpires'', [[Characters/MarvelComicsCarolDanvers Carol Danvers]] and [[ComicBook/XMen Gladiator]] start a relationship. In the canon Franchise/MarvelUniverse, they hardly know each other.

* In canon, ComicBook/SpiderMan is a professional acquaintance of the ComicBook/YoungAvengers at best; in ''Fanfic/SpiderManTheYoungAvenger'' (in a continuity mixing elements of the comics with the MCU), Peter Parker is not only a member of the team but has a long-standing friendship with Cassie Lang that leads to them forming a relationship when they both realise the other's secret identity.

** In the original series, Spike was (more or less) Twilight's adopted sibling, on top of being her trusted assistant who lives to please her. And they've known each other since he hatched and she was a child respectively. Here, he's just her roommate she meets on the way to Ponyville in the first episode that she strikes up a close friendship with, he's [[OlderThanTheyLook actually older than her in pony years]], and (while he still does the cooking and a lot of the house work) he's not her assistant and often argues with her on even footing.
** Also in the show, Rarity and Sweetie Belle are blood siblings that had a loving relationship. Here [[spoiler:that's just their cover story to go along with Rarity being a [[AdaptionalSpeciesChange changeling defector]] in this continuity. With Sweetie Belle serving as [[ChildSoldier military handler]].]]

** In canon Finn and Marceline stayed entirely as friends and never really developed feelings for one another. Here Marceline becomes Finn's FirstLove [[spoiler:though they end up breaking up.]]
** Finn at first hated the Ice King for kidnapping princesses and threatening him and Jake in his attempts to befriend them and it took finding out his past as Simon Petrikov for the two to become friends, here Finn initially goes to stop the Ice King but upon seeing how miserable he is begins to take pity on him earlier on and the Ice King becomes one of his earliest friends.

* In canon, [[ImpersonationExclusiveCharacter the real Tom]] barely had the chance to interact with anyone. In ''Fanfic/{{Eleutherophobia}}'', he's [[IntergenerationalFriendship close friends with Eva]], begrudgingly gets along with Marco, helps Tobias deal with his grief, tries to fix Jake and Cassie's relationship, et cetera.

* ''Fanfic/{{Deadshots}}'': Mai fakes Zuko's death (and soon after, her own suicide) following the disastrous Agni Kai. This changes quite a few relationships.

* Due to Mirellia revealing Malty's duplicity earlier than in ''Literature/TheRisingOfTheShieldHero'', in ''Fanfic/ASpecialKindOfMagic'' Ren and Itsuki gradually end up becoming friends with Naofumi. It helps that Naofumi
genuinely helps them and has others willing to believe him to explain things to them.

* In canon, Sasuke and Hinata had almost no direct interaction with each other throughout the original series (their first direct conversation taking place in sequel series ''Manga/{{Boruto}}''), with Hinata only ever having eyes for Naruto as opposed to just about every other girl in their year-group crushing on Sasuke. In ''Fanfic/WhiteEyes'', the two of them are placed on the same team with Naruto, and while there's some initial hostility (mostly on Hinata's part), they eventually develop incredible faith and trust in each other as teammates. Ironically, when Sasuke is asked early in the story which girl he would pick to be with, he thinks for a moment and then says Hinata, precisely ''because'' she's the only one of the girls who isn't fangirling after him. (Of course, it's a Naruto/Hinata fic, so they become the OfficialCouple while Sasuke later identifies as asexual.)

** Zoé is specifically Audrey's ''illegitimate'' daughter here, who has been raised by and stays with her father.

* ''Fanfic/TemporalAnomaly'': In canon, Zero is completely hellbent on murdering the rest of the Intoners in order [[spoiler: to prevent the Flower from fully blooming and destorying the world.]] She even refuses to view them as actual ''people'', but aspects of herself brought to life thanks to [[spoiler: the Flower.]] Here, now that she's presented a way to achieve her goals without needing to kill the other Intoners, her relationship with them is much more amiable, with her even being downright ''supportive'' of them at times and vice versa.

** She's no longer in the same class as [[AlphaBitch Chlo&eacute]], who continues to feel [[EntitledToHaveYou entitled to her favorite victim]] and tries to keep harassing her through whatever means she can use.

** Downplayed with Stella & Lincoln. The teo kids forms a friendship here, but they are also partners in this story.
** Stella and Luna never meet each other in canon, but these two forms a small friendship here.

** Adrien and Chloé have a LikeBrotherAndSister dynamic instead of Chloe wanting him romantically like in canon. She even finds the suggestion of any sort of romance between them ill.

** Due to Marinette switching to largely being homeschooled so she can help out at the Dupain-Cheng bakery more after her mother's passing, she's much more detached from her classmates, not feeling particularly close to any of them. The biggest exception to this is Rose; while they aren't ''super'' tight-knit, Rose admires and appreciates how Marinette supported her during an especially harsh time at the hosital.

* ''Fanfic/LeaveForMendeleiev'' explores a world where [[WhatIf Marinette is transferred to Mendeleiev's class at the start of the school year]], before she becomes Miraculous Ladybug. As a result:
** She's no longer in the same class as [[AlphaBitch Chloe]], who continues to feel [[EntitledToHaveYou entitled to her favorite victim]] and tries to keep harassing her through whatever means she can use.

** Adrien and Chloe have a LikeBrotherAndSister dynamic instead of Chloe wanting him romantically like in canon. She even finds the suggestion of any sort of romance between them ill.
** While in canon Chloe had admiration for her mother ([[AbusiveParent despite how she often forgets her own name]]), here Chloe outright loathes Audrey for cheating on her father.
** While initially as cold and hostile to her half-sister Zoe like in canon, this time because she associated her with her mother's affair, Chloe in chapter 41 starts to bond and form a healthy relationship with her sister.

** In ''GT'', Nappa immediately tried to get revenge on Vegeta for killing him when he escapes from Hell alongside all the other villains, This is very much not the case in the abridged series, [[spoiler:where he takes being accidentally revived by Mr Popo in strive, settling into more of a VitriolicBestBuds relationship with Vegeta and is even treated by Bulma as an HonoraryUncle for baby Trunks.]]
