Or are we planning to repurpose Caucasian Asian to cover characters in Western live-action work who were played in, um, yellowface? "John Wayne is Genghis Khan!"
Trouser Wearing Barbarian: I'd say that Mukokuseki is a more accurate term, since it means "stateless" or "culturally neutral." After all, it's not so much that anime characters look Caucasian, it's that they don't look human. I've never seen anyone that had a tiny Cheeky Mouth, huge saucer-shaped purple eyes, and gravity-defying green hair in real life.
The more stylized a cartoon character is, the less likely they are to have any ethnically distinguishing features. Japanese viewers look at cartoony green-haired saucer-eyed people and view them as Japanese by default, while western viewers see them as white.
samperi: Accurate or not, this is a term that almost nobody is familiar with. Unless we intend to be a site for people who click links at random, all the trope titles should be comprehensible.
mkill: And if you want to pretend you know Japanese, at least do it right. "Mukoku seki" makes as much sense as "Nonatio Nality". It's 無国籍, with 無 mu not and 国籍 kokuseki nationality. Anyway, just change back to Caucasian Asian and be done with it.
