Describe I Read It For The Articles Discussion here.

Jordan: How about a redirect to I Read It for the Articles, an excuse for reading Playboy which is used in common speech.

— Whatever works. I was going to add some examples in, but I'm rushed for time at the moment.

Whatever: Does watching something because it's very narmy actually count? I get the impression that this is sort of a guilty pleasure trope, rather than watching something because it's so terrible and trashy it sends you into fits of giggles.

Flysh :Just curious; is this trope for when it's an excuse ("Oh, uh... I'm reading it... for... The politics. Yeah. Politics.") or if you actually mean it? ("Well, I'm studying for a psychology course, and even though there's lots of really weird fight scenes, the characters have good psychological profiles...")? If it's A, isn't it (contrary to the page's description) Freudian Excuse, and if it's B, isn't it covered by a crapload of other tropes? (Springing to mind is Ensemble Dark Horse and So Bad, It's Good, but I'm sure there's more)

Antheia: It's for when it's an excuse. And it's not Freudian Excuse; see that page for why. If it were B, it would be It's for a Book (Ensemble Dark Horse? So Bad, It's Good? Why those?)

Broken Chaos: Page moved. Per: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=qib11v2cv3caotyuu2bwckdf
