Yes, it is as bad as everyone says.

Rather than focus on the comic as a whole, let us start with some of its aspects:

Art: I will be frank. Tim Buckley is a horrible artist. While Buckley has learned not to draw B^U faces, he now draws characters with oversized heads, nonexistent top teeth, and over-the-top gesticulations and expressions that would make William Shatner cringe. It does not help that Buckley is known to use Google Image Search for inspiration. And by inspiration, I mean he plagiarizes, only admitting it if he is caught.

Characters: All one-sided and unlikable. Ethan is your classic WACKY VIJEO GAMEZ guy who deserves punishment he never receives, Lucas is a douchebag Deadpan Snarker who got angry when his girlfriend cheated on him after he said they should take some time to experiment, Lilah is a Shallow Love Interest whose sole purpose is to orbit Ethan's dick, and Zeke is Stewie Griffin as a robot. It's sad when even minor characters (Rob the Counterstrike player, Scott the Linux user, etc.) are better-written than our "heroes".

Jokes: Can be split up into separate sections. We have year-old jokes that Buckley believes are cutting age, your classic misogynist/racist/violent/dick jokes, jokes that briefly talk about Game X only to go on a tangent (seriously, you can take half of Buckley's comics, replace one game name with another, and nobody could tell the difference), jokes that are over-explained before even getting to the punchline... The list goes on. All of them are mediocre at best. There are some occasional storylines, but they're so idiotic and long-winded that you will literally beg them to end.

I am not going to cut corners with all the "It has a lot of flaws, but it's pretty good otherwise" shit. This comic, written by an egotistical douchebag with no talent, is only legitimately good and enjoyable if you are incredibly drunk, too withdrawn to read any better webcomics, Tim Buckley himself, or all of the above. It makes me sick to see that the comic's page was whitewashed and locked just to avoid the butthurt of Buckley's "fans".

There are hundreds of webcomics floating on the internet that are better written and drawn then Ctrl Alt Del. You literally have no excuse to read this.

"I am not going to cut corners with all the "It has a lot of flaws, but it's pretty good otherwise" shit." Was that a Take That against my review?

I don't have any personal opinion on the comic, but I find it entertaining that the positiveness in a given review here is inversely proportional to how long it is. Interpret that however you want.

This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish.

Ha ha, this was a good review. I especially liked "Lilah is a shallow love interest whose sole purpose is to orbit Ethan's dick".

@ Kexruct: No. To be perfectly honest, I didn't even see your review before I wrote mine.
@ Artistic Platypus: It's easier to write about a bad show's flaws than of a good show's merits.

^^^^ Or rather, flaws need to be explained at length to justify them, whereas positives tend to be discussed in a concise manner. Ideally, a reviewer should know how to speak of both at length.

I think you were too kind.

@ Gerazzi: Originally, my review was going to be 10 pages of "TIM BUCKLEY IS A HORRIBLE WRITER AND A HACK AND YOU SHOULD PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE IF YOU EVER SEE HIM IN PERSON", but that didn't fit the 400 word limit.

There are still a few parts I wasn't able to fit in, such as the abomination that was the animated series and how Buckley probably wrote in the miscarriage just so that he would not have to write an infant character.

This is ridiculous. Chill out dude, the comic isn't THAT bad. I can definitely see why you would think it's bad, and I respect your opinion, but it sounds like you are insulting people who enjoy the comic. "It makes me sick to see that the comic's page was whitewashed and locked just to avoid the butthurt of Buckley's "fans"." I know it's a horrible, horrible thing, but your opinion isn't law. This wiki is supposed to be neutral, and frankly, your opinion isn't very neutral. Taken from the home page "We are also not a wiki for bashing things. Once again, we're about celebrating fiction, not showing off how snide and sarcastic we can be. "- In other words, keep your opinions either to yourself or on the reviews page. Not the main page.

@ Kexruct: I understand. I'm just saying my opinion, that the comic is bad, on the reviews page (where you can post your own opinions). As for the whitewashing business, that was more of a gripe towards TV Tropes itself, seeing as they just lock any slightly objective series without considering other alternatives.

What better webcomics? All webcomics suck, this included.

Okay, I'm either incredibly drunk, too shallow to read any better webcomics, Tim Buckley himself. I'm not Tim Buckley (I think), I'm teetotal and haven't really had more than a shandy in my entire life => I'm too shallow to read better comics.

I read Penny Arcade, Girl Genius, No Need For Bushido, The Phoenix Requiem (when it still ran), Goblins, Gunnerkrigg Court and Erfworld

So what you're saying is Ctrl+Alt+Del is exactly as good or a tiny shade better than those comics, all of which are crud.

I congratulate you on the efficiency of your review system!

@ Tomwithnonumbers: Be honest. Compared with all of the other webcomics you read, do you legitimately like Ctrl-Alt-Del or do you read it for its So Bad Its Goodness/because you read it for a while and can't stop?

Also, this is simply my opinion. If you feel that Ctrl-Alt-Del is good, then you can write your own review on it.

I actually like this comic myself, I certainly don't hate it like Yahtzee does. I'll admit I didn't like how the original run ended, but the jokes have gotten better then in the rebooted version.
