From the Western Animation subpage:
I don't think this fits, but it could just have poor context since I haven't seen the movie. If it does fit, here it is:
- You'd never believe it, but Beavis of Beavis And Butthead invokes this in Beavis And Butthead Do America, greatly upset that he'll never be able to "score". Then, the bus driver kicks his ass.

From the Western Animation subpage:
- An American Tail: Fievel, lampshaded by other characters.
- (The Lion King) Also, Nuka
- (Lilo And Stitch) Don't forget Stitch himself: "I'm...lost..."
- The eponymous character of Bambi and the pheasent who ends up getting shot in that movie. Poor thing
- Coraline
- Heck, the real father, Charlie Jones. Fortunately, things look better for him by the end.
- Don't forget Coraline herself.
- The Land Before Time
- Ducky is this, too, when he first meets her. Petrie, who can't fly initially, is largely this in the first film (and a lot of the time in the sequels!).
- Even Cera gets to be a woobie at one point, when she cries by the waterfall.
- Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs:
- Flint Lockwood and Sam Sparks.
- And even Brent, during his Break the Haughty scenes.
Chained Sinkholes
- Treasure Planet has James Pleiades Hawkins. His troubles all started when he was born. It takes a morally complicated cyborg bear / space pirate father figure to get Jim out of his seven-year-long funk.
Is the X-Men: First Class example accurate? It mentions Hank Mc Coy being outed in front of his father. I don't recall anything in the film suggesting that the unnamed CIA guy (Man in Black Suit) had any relation to Hank. I'm pretty sure he was just the guy that ran the facility, and Hank worked for him.
