Gods that created the world aren't going to be an example of the trope. We already know they're older than the planet and all life they've created. The fact that they were created by something even older isn't really relevant. The trope does point out that things that are expected to be ancient (like mountains, for example) are not examples of the trope.
What might be an example of Time Abyss are Ozpin, Salem and Ozpin's cane, since all three are inconceivably ancient by the standards both objects and people. Ozpin admits in Volume 5 that he and Salem have been fighting for thousands of years, he tells Hazel in Volume 8 that Hazel will be unable to comprehend the length of time that Salem has been alive, and the cane has been with Ozma for countless lifetimes and is still going strong.
Edited to add: The trope description does actually mention gods towards the end, which didn't make much sense, so I checked the original trope draft, and gods were not originally part of the trope. I think we might need to ask for clarification on the trope description about whether creator gods should apply since they're expected to be older than the planet.

Hide / Show RepliesUnfortunately, including both the super-trope and the sub-trope is redundant (i.e. Hypocrite is not to be listed when Hypocritical Humor is).

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. There is no Foil relationship going on in the narrative. When two characters are foils, they're interacting with each other and the Cat and Salem have never met.
There's a Foil clean-up thread where the first post gives a break-down of what to look for in a Foil example, if you'd like to ask there for further information.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Okay, from the Curious Cat's character sheet. These are contrast tropes. They cannot both be in play at the same time. Actor Allusion is for actors who are cast in roles that are nothing like their previous roles, but a throw-away reference to a previous role gets made at some point. Casting Gag is when an actor is put into a role that is either mirroring or parodying a previous role.
The only way the two tropes could exist side-by-side is if the actor is in an unfamiliar role with a throw-away shout out to a previous role (Actor Allusion) while also being in a role that is mirroring or parodying their real life (rather than a previous role). Both entries below are about previous roles, so that's a clash that needs to be resolved:
- Actor Allusion: People quickly noticed that Robbie Daymond uses the exact same tone he uses when playing Goro Akechi when playing the Curious Cat. Sure enough, he turns out to be a traitor, and by the end of the volume reveals himself as the Arc Villain.
- Casting Gag: This isn't the first time Robbie Daymond voices a character who can manipulate hearts and aids the protagonists only to turn out to have far more sinister motives.
I'd suggest removing Actor Allusion since that's presumably based on the character's previous appearances before the reveal.
Basically, The Reveal made it into a Casting Gag.
Disgusted, but not surprisedConsidering how unique the setting is, how fast it's building tropes, and how spoiler-heavy it is, should we make the Ever After its own character page and slap a spoiler warning on it?
Hide / Show RepliesOriginally, it was the RWBY Forum thread that decided to keep it integrated with existing pages, I've asked there if there's a consensus for splitting it off and dumped the section into a sandbox just to see the size of the page.
I've asked the question here, if you'd like to join in.
The sandbox is here.

Hide / Show RepliesNo, not really. For all we know, he's just a Guile Hero. We don't have enough to go on right now.

Being the first king of vacuo and ambiguously related to the main antagonist of the rwby spinoff novel seems important enough to be on this page.
Hide / Show RepliesSections shouldn't be created unless there are a minimum of three tropes. I've read the novel, and I think anyone would be hard pressed to come up with enough information for three genuine tropes. However, if someone can do it, feel free to add it.

Hide / Show RepliesWe don't know anything about them. The show hasn't discussed them. I can't think of anything that happens in the Great War episode that gives us anything to trope for them.

Hide / Show RepliesI've got no problem with that, but I don't know how image replacement works — whether you have to open an Image Pickin' thread or not. Perhaps someone else can chime in?

Edited by Wyldchyld If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Shouldn't Merlot be moved to the Eastern Sanus section? The majority of Grimm Eclipse happens around the Kingdom of Vale and Merlot's island can't be too far away from the continent for Beacon's airship to have gotten to it as quickly as it did.
Hide / Show RepliesThe general opinion when the new layout was being discussed was to put him on the World of Remnant because he's in a spin-off work (the video game) and is so far limited to that.
However, given that the Mutated Grimm were incorporated into the Creatures of Grimm page, we do seem to have a handling inconsistency going on here. I'm going to flag your question with the RWBY Forum and see if anyone else wants to chime in on this one.
Personally, I think you've got a point, but I haven't played the video game. In the video game, is he based inside or outside Vale? I'm aware that the plot of the game is connected to the fall of Mountain Glenn, but he's not based there, is he? You mention an island. We know Patch is considered part of the Kingdom of Vale, but is there any indication in the video that Merlot's island is inside or outside the kingdom? I'm assuming it would be based outside the kingdom (even if not very far outside) for so much Grimm experimentation to be going on, but I don't know if that's a safe assumption to make.
Edit: I've flagged your question here.
Edited by Wyldchyld If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. There is no indication how far Merlot's island is from Vale, but it is meant to be remote, uninhabited and probably not a part of the Kingdom in any meaningful sense. As for Mountain Glenn, it contained a base for Merlot's corporation in some unspecified past, but we have no idea if he was ever personally there. An argument can be made for moving him to Eastern Sanus, but I'd rather just keep him where he is, since his connection to Vale is rather questionable.
Edited by Tharkun140 Apathy is Death. Worse than Death, because at least a rotting corpse feeds beasts and insects. There's also the fact that Merlot and the mutant grimm are the only characters of real questionable canonicity. While they did initially say Grimm Eclipse is canon, there's been little to suggest so and the canonicity of the game is currently dubious. I'd honestly think it better to make a character page for Grimm Eclipse and move him and the Mutant Grimm there, while linking the characters in the game to said page for consistency. At least until its clarified again if Grimm Eclipse is actually canon.
Vegeta: I'm back bitches!^ What do you mean there's been little to suggest so? Grimm Eclipse was confirmed to be canon by the writers. They co-worked on it. Unless their statement changes, we should consider it canon. Besides, making a page for essentially two characters seems kind of pointless.

Can we add Time Abyss to the Brother Gods? Since they’re revealed to have been born in the Ever After?
