I'm interested, it looks both awesome and hilarious.
I can honestly say this has peaked my interest, and I got a feeling I’m really going to like the guy who was taking LSD for eleven years.

"If you make people think they’re thinking, they’ll love you; but if you really make them think, they’ll hate you." —Don MarquisWait - so it's not based on last year's Broadway play about that artist?
Fanfiction I hate.Yes. A thousand times yes.
^^Nope. It's based on a graphic novel, and RED is some sort of acronym.
I wonder how many people on this forum have even heard of the play...
And yes, I'm quite excited for this movie.

Flora Segunda | World Made By Hand | Monster Blood Tattoo ^You should read these series.Retired Extremely Dangerous.
Fight smart, not fair.Someone please make the page for this. Holy crap what a funny movie.
The whole theater was laughing out loud at the wacky antics of all these retired government agents blowing crap up.
Red if you want it.
Fight smart, not fair. The movie's page should probably have the letters capitalized, seeing that it is an acronym and is shown as such.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/Doesn't matter. Red or red both lead to the same place. Making Film.Red might be called for though.
Fight smart, not fair.I actually live in Pensacola, so our theater was pretty amused to see our little "Wow, people outside the military actually know our city exists" moment in the movie....and even more amused to hear the heroine pronounce "Mobile, Alabama" like it was a telephone or a house on wheels.

Those scenes were shot in New Orleans, by the way.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/I just got back from seeing this about an hour ago, and... I'm not entirely sure what to think about it.
I mean, it wasn't complete shit, and I didn't have any thoughts of asking for a ticket refund (even if they don't go beyond "thought", as I know it won't happen), but the best I can say of it was "it's okay".
There were some laughs here and there, and it wasn't "damn, I don't know if I can stay awake" boring anywhere, but I kinda expected more, especially considering that Willis has a decent resume in both the action and comedy genres, and the other big-names aren't exactly shabby actors, either.
And did they really have to kill Joe?

All your safe space are belong to TrumpSeeing as it was based on an Ellis story, I was expecting Joe to show up again at the end and turn out to be a bad guy. I mean, c'mon! It's a movie about spies and assassins! You can't make a movie about spies and assassins without a double-agent!
Did anyone read the original thing? D'you know if they changed the ending?
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!I am not quite sure, but was the opening scene suppose to be in Cleveland? I thought I saw the name of the city on the garbage container, but am not sure.
It's a suburb of Cleveland. The scene was shot in Toronto though.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/A lot of this movie was shot in TO. Every ten minutes I was recognizing places.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!I'm with Nohbody on this — it wasn't a bad movie, and it had some hilarious moments, but all in all it was below my expectations. The best bits was in the trailer, and I kept waiting for Joe to reappears, especially since they had already fooled us in thinking he was dead. Again, it was a nice movie, but with the actors they had, they could have done much, much more.
BTW, when Marvin and Victoria were commenting on the Secret Service being not as tough as they remembered, who was it that first brought it up? I forget who made the first comment, off the top of my head, and my brain won't let go... but it's not holding so tightly I'm going to buy another ticket just for that one scene.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpMarvin said it first.
Fight smart, not fair.I suppose technically I should start a new thread for RED 2, but it doesn't seem like there'd be much of a point.
I just got back from seeing 2, and I can't say I'm much more impressed with the sequel than I was with the original, as I mentioned up-thread.
The romantic parts between Sarah and Frank were kinda annoying, but what really bothered me about the former was their involvement in the action. There were a few times (at least that I can recall) where they were playing like it was a game instead of something that can result in people dying, but only the PG-13 rating and the writers fudging things keeping that from happening.
I was amused by the flirting between Victoria and Ivan during the sniper scene, though, so it's not just "romance bad, blowing shit up good".
