I've never wrote a single fan fic (or heck, any not-a-school-work story) in my life, but just recently I got this idea of a Metal Gear Solid and Kingdom Hearts crossover I couldn't get out of my head (an idea I posted on the "Fanfics only you would like" thread).

I got some basic drafts on it on my hardrive, but I won't post anything to the internet unless I got it all finished and I'm satisfied with it. I am a very self-critical person, I would never post something I find badly done.

I'm a fanfiction writer of the "meanwhile in..." kind.

I write fan fics that take place in the universes of certain books, but not with the main characters per say. I like to write stories about what's going on with other characters while the main characters do their own thing. Sometimes with OC, sometimes with minor characters. I prefer it, because it gives me an opportunity to get creative with unestablished ground.

I do write fanfiction. However, I rarely, if ever, post it in public. The only one I have actually posted is The Darkest Void, which is mediocre at best and is currently on a hiatus due to me no longer having a PC to write it on.

I've written some fanfics on Fanfiction.net. One of them, The Scream Of Jeepers Creepers, even has it's own page here, but I have now discontinued it due to the fact I just could not get any more ideas. but I will be writing a new, bigger, and hopefully more successful slasher crossover fic soon.

The Sonic Wiki Curator I'm currently thinking of one right now. It's kind of a Zelda/Sonic crossover. The tentative title is Sonic and the Mask of Majora. One problem: what to do with the time-travel gimmick. Should I use that Mystic Melody flute from SA 2? Or should I use that time-travelling method from Sonic the Hedgehog 2006?

... Yeah, I'm still working on a significantly revisioned version of this, although it's under a different, more original name now.

Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.

I do! I am one of the more "mature" members of FF.Net, meaning that I could be the mom of a lot of other members. I only started writing fanfics since last fall, and am hooked. I am a beta reader, but hopefully won't get too swamped with beta requests. Here's who I am over there:

That irritating moment when someone accuses you of ripping off a fanfic that was first published nearly a year after yours started.

Working on my first, which is a long one, right now, but I just started a few weeks ago, so I have nothing published yet. I'm probably not going to put anything up until I'm much farther along in the story and after I let a few friends with critical eyes attack the stupid parts.

I've been writing fan fiction ever since before I knew what the Hell fanfiction was.

My current primary effort is Repairs and is currently sorely in need of critique. No one is ever willing to stop and actually tell me what they liked/disliked.

I have an original story in the works (if that counts) It has 6 chapters (and a bonus chapter),so far I'm finishing the Chapter 5 boss fight. Need to dedicate more time to it. The title of it is on my trope page if anyone wants to know(don't expect story details).

I want to write fanfic, but I never have any idea as to what would be in character for someone. I have a hard time picking up on specifics, like how an existing character talks, or how they act, or what they'd think of the same situation vs. what someone else would.

Which is odd, since I seem to have no trouble doing that with my OWN characters.

Of course they aren't. Especially not on ff.net. You'll be lucky if one review in ten is more than "LOVE IT!!!! update soon"

[up]Yeah, that's usually the case. Still, that means they like it. That's better than nothing. Although my fic actually tends to have reviewers that point out what they like about the fic...

Fanfics should never be written for the commentary. Because you can never know if you will get any comments, or even if the ones you will get are worth it (some are good criticism, but others are clueless or just trollish.) Simply put, write fics because it fulfills YOUR desires to do so. And write them however YOU want. If others like them, great, if not, no loss on anybody's part.

[up][up][up][up]Sounds like you need to do research on the characters you want to use first. That is OK, happens to many of us. Luckily there are many "character bibles" already available in the net (in Wikis, mostly) that help just with that. Use Google to find them.

[up][up]Wow. Have you ever considered actually writing a longer fic?

As for the reviews, sure, you should write because you want to write. Having fans makes it feel worthwhile, though. Well, if fanfics can actually have fans.

Yes, I write Warrior Cats fanfics.

Right now I'm working on one called Golden Dawn: Lost Sunrise, which is about three young Clan cats trying to stop a war.

I do fics for Total Drama, Criminal Minds, 6teen, Victorious, World of Quest, and Professor Layton; I only have a couple fics published, though.

Here's the one I'm currently working on. Enjoy!

I don’t even know anymore.
