Bug Man will shoot bugs.
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.What, Aile and Ashe don't count?
Too little, too late if you ask me The Mega Man series can hardly be called progressive when it comes to gender.
I mean, Ashe is awesome in a can but she might very well be the star of the last real game in the series.

- Does gender even really matter? We're talking robots here.
- Haven't played ZXA so for me it's Aile. How do you pronounce her name anyway? I say it like "aisle".
1. Exactly, gender shouldn't matter at all and yet we still have the boys doing all the shooting and the girls doing all the monitoring.
2. I pronounce it "Ale"

And yet, ZX and ZXA, the games you keep on discounting, put that assignment of gender roles to rest hard. (And so did Command Mission, seeing as, despite having Nana as Mission Control, you had Marino and Cinnamon on your side. And heck, even X8 had the Navigators playable.)
"Ale" is how it's pronounced in-game in ZXA, so I'd assume the localization team did their homework, but the fact that Aile is a French name makes me a bit wary for some reason.
Anyway, I found this and wanted to share it.
Alia and co where just stand-ins in X8. I offered Alia a more appropriate moveset on page 82. Layer should probably go the Boobs Of Steel route and become a slower, harder hitting version of zero using a heavier weapon and Pallet would be hilarious if she had a BFG.
Aww, curse you to-be-continued!

Seriously, Marino needs to appear again.
Shirow, that doesn't make sense. She analyzes the weak points of enemy units. She uses a rapier. She probably has lighter armor than Zero, too. And in terms of power ratings, I doubt she comes even close to matching Zero in raw output. If anything, she'd be the Weak, but Skilled (and when I say "weak", I mean in relation to Zero) Fragile Speedster who relies on targeting her foe's weak spots and scoring critical hits.
I pronounce it "Ale" as well, buuuuuut I've probably screwed up more than my fair share of pronunciations in my time.
I have to admit I haven't played very far through Ashe's scenario, but she's pretty cool (though I'd have to say my favourite character out of her and Grey is the latter).
@Vid:
Heh, cool. Nice use of Command Mission's voice clips/sound effects. Also, when he was fighting the four Master Chiefs/SPARTANs mechaniloids, was I the only one who saw a resemblence to a certain .gif involving Zero and Pantheons?
EDIT:
I thought Marino was kind of amusing, but Cinnamon's cutesy personality just grated like all hell on me. Admittedly this has only occured in recent play throughs, but for some reason I just find Cinnamon kind of infuriating now.

Locking you up on radar since '09Only Ashe has the balls to talk down Prometheus like he's nothing... while not Megamerge'd.
And actually, yeah, I noted the resemblance to that .gif as well. The use of Bakugan props had me laughing a bit. Part of me kinda wants Dragonoid as a boss in a future X game. Only part, though.
I don't think I used Cinnamon much anyway, so I'm not sure I noticed how grating her personality possibly is/was. Marino was cool, though. It's a shame these characters exist some century or so after the main games; it'd be nice to see (some of) them folded back into main canon.
Concerning Command Mission, I was always extremely boring and took X, Zero and Axl with me. xD But then again, I still haven't finished the game yet. I guess it's thanks to those two bossbattles occuring back-to-back without any healing inbetween. I forgot who the two dudes are I have to fight, though. :/
I didn't like the pronunciation "ale" because it sounds like "ail". That's why I picked "isle"/"aisle".
Yeah, that was me, although Spider and Marino saw their fair share of usage. Cinnamon, not so much, and Maximo even less so.
I like Maximo. He fought with a shield on a stick.
... I think you people mean MASSIMO. Not Maximo.

Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Yeah, I dunno why I just misspelled his name. This isn't Ghosts to Glory or Army of Zin.
But that game series was awesome.

Yeah, it was. Too bad about the developers getting the axe because of an unrelated bomb.

Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Which was Capcom's fault in the first place because they wanted something "More american" to the cel-shaded brawler they where cooking up before.
OH HEY LOOK I'M BITCHING ABOUT CAPCOM AGAIN.
So, I just remembered the ZX games exist. What would you want from a hypothetical ZXY?
ZXA fixed pretty much all the problems I had with ZX, sooo... more. More bosses, bigger levels, stronger weapons and a heap of Continuity Nods.
Also, it made the Ingame-Map INFINITELY BETTER to read. I swear, whoever came to that extremely stupid idea of making the map diagonal, without any real pointers to what exit corresponds to what on the map without actually going there and checking for yourself, should get kicked. In the nads. xP
Who'd be the main protagonist of the next ZX game? Some kid who comes across Model Z?
I'll have to play Rokko Chan later, although I'm still waiting on Mega Girl myself.
