In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

After years of doing shit around here, I finally fixed the post timestamps to correct timezone,
"Screw it, I AM going to enjoy this game!"DAY 6 OF THE BLACKOUT SEASON
What's worse than waking up during morning right before the house is powerless? Waking up during early morning right after the house is powerless. Why they think it's a good idea to shut down the power at 4 am until 6 am (yes, only two hours, meaning they could have waited just fine until 6 am if they weren't going for a 4-hour blackout) escapes my comprehension. I couldn't sleep during the following hours, so when it was 6:20 am I had the daily walk so I didn't have to do it during after. It backfired, because at one point (sometime around 8:20-8:30 am) the gray clouds gave way for the Sun to blaze through the streets as if it was summer midday. My feet now have some small-but-annoying blisters, and I had to sleep two hours afterwards to recover the lost sleep time.
You know that iconic scene in Matilda when the little girl shows her teacher that she has psychic powers? It appears to set up a heartwarming scene between the two, only for Trunchbull to interrupt it when she forcefully brings the rest of the students to the classroom. That's what came to my mind when my dream (one of the finest I've had in recent times) got interrupted so unceremoniously due to the blackout.

135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Matilda is my all time favorite book. I've read the book and watched the movie too many times to count. I finally got to see the musical on Broadway a few months ago. I've had all the songs on the soundtrack memorized for years, and still listen to it constantly. I get the metaphor
I watched it not too long ago on TV, so my memory on it is fresh.
I also watched The Good Dinosaur last night. I liked it, though I still prefer Inside Out.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Ugh, lord, I gotta stop agreeing to go out with people. I went out for a dinner with a group of friends after ducking them for ages and had a horrible time.
月を見るたび思い出せSorry to hear that. :( *hugs*
I like to keep my audience riveted. So, my brother was going to participate in the big Rocket League tournament qualifying rounds that he was really, really excited about. And then a glitch caused a third of the teams playing(bro's included) to not receive confirmation emails and the organizers didn't react smartly or something. Point is, he and a teammate are currently drowning their sorrows in junk food and anime. Poor dude. He was even gonna livestream his matches and he'd have gotten a lot of money if he won even just the qualifying rounds and his You Tube channel would have gotten tons more traffic and all sorts of stuff. I do not begrudge him having a pity party one bit, especially if it was partially the fault of the organizers.
Blog linkI went out bowling with some guy I wish I could have as a friend and the rest of his friends. But since I didn't know any of them, I'm terrible at bowling, and then we went to a bar and I never drink, I figured that it just wasn't my kind of crowd.
Also, guy I've been seeing hasn't answered me at all this weekend, so I guess he's just not that interested in me either.
Outings go so much better when you have more control over them.
@Otaku So sorry about that. That's another reason I don't go in for video game tournaments...they still aren't fair when they can be brought down by simple technical problems.
Ah, I sympathize, Key.
月を見るたび思い出せI just showed my mom When Marnie Was There. She said it was complicated, but she liked it. I had a feeling she would. :)
I like to keep my audience riveted.Holy hell, I've gone from full New Orleans to full Portland in the span of two weeks. Went from jazz in the streets to drum circles in the park. I already miss New Orleans.
I've really got to buckle down now. I have 49 days left to finish my book.
I like to keep my audience riveted.I dunno if you're talking about reading or writing but
I finally got around to starting the Second Apocalypse series over because book 6 is slated to come out in like a month or two and I've already preordered it
So I have like 5 books of like 700 pages each to read in the next month
Gogogogogo
I meant writing. And now it's 48.
I like to keep my audience riveted.Yeah well
I have about the same amount of time to read like 3500 pages so
I think you'll be okay :p
If books be the topic, I just found a book called "Playing with Religion in Digital Games", which looks super exciting. Though, I can only have it for a month and this month I'm supposed to be finishing my Master thesis. But one can always squeeze in some time to read about video games.
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!Love the new Avatar Solip.
[does not say anything, just makes this face]
I am quite happy, since my cycling instructor allowed me to put on the Liquidity Year Mix to the speakers and everyone was into it. Next class, I will subject them to the horror that is modern neurofunk.
DAY 9 OF THE BLACKOUT SEASON
I haven't been able to login in my computer these days because the CPU was sent for a cleanup/repair check. Right now I'm surfing through the web via a laptop connected to my computer's screen, which allows me to continue using Internet. Since a laptop's performance is always slower than that of a home computer, the browsing pace is slower, and it gets annoying to edit the wiki this way, so for now I won't check the articles. =(
On the positive side, my brother is paying us a visit and he'll be here for a week or two before returning to his new home.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300I just finished another book on my reading list. Last night I finished reading The World Without Us. I thought it was pretty good. Maybe not quite as great as all the reviewers were saying, but pretty good.
I like to keep my audience riveted.Like blackouts and a brutal clueless dictatorship weren't enough, eh? Your computer had to give up too?
I got two days to get my shit together. I arranged a photoshoot for Saturday and I cannot fuck it up - there's only me, her, the camera and six hours to do everything before I have to GM the first session of Black Crusade.
