Aside from Celty every character is a bit character.
I do not know what you mean.
Many characters have focus or importance, but the central piece holding everything together is the fact that celty is there on Ikebukuro.
Episode 12
Shizou's quitting the Dollars. Well I suppose that's good for his anger management.
lol he was totally gonna throw that bike.
Varona just slung a knife at him. ….. now he's got a fun new target to chase! :D
Crud, Shizou found a car to dribble!!
"I gotta kick him in the legOW I IMMEDIATELY REGRET MY DECISION FUCK! HURTS!!"
She's just your friendly neighborhood Celty.
It looks like little girls are Shizou's weakness.
BOOB FONDLE!!! Thank you!!!
He recognizes that Mikado isn't fit to lead the Dollars.
Woah! Mikado takes the deal!
YES!!! MIKADO DOES SOMETHING VIOLENT FOR ONCE!!!
Oh hey it's Izaya. …..
….. :O !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally caught up with the show.
Holy crap Mikado. I get wanting to be special but casually stabbing a guy's hand? There's some darkness in your soul, kid. Then again, this is DRRR.
Got a catch to listen to the English version. So far, the other change made is with Mika from Carrie Savage to Kira Buckland.
I have to admit Kira sounds really better with Mika IMO. Of course, Carrie did a good job back in the first season.
Heard that Brina's doing Vorona as maybe one of the major roles she has in anime outside of Texas (Maybe I'm wrong on that front though)...

The dub is definitely great so far (letting go of hearing the wonderous voices of Steve Blum and Crispin Freeman again). Even if its annoying me that Aniplex hasn't updated the cast list for each new character. The only real confirmation we have for any of the new cast outside the original announcement is Cristina Vee as Ruri which she stated via Twitter.
Everyone else has to be guessed on voice alone, which is can work but it's better to have actual confirmation. Still it's interesting if that really is Brina, I know she's worked outside of Texas before (mostly for onscreen work). Though to be honest Varona's Russian accent really throws me off in guessing who her Eng V.A. is when I first heard her.
On the front of Carrie being replaced with Kira. I'm alright with it, hell I forgot about Mika pretty easily after she lost relevance in the second half of S1. Either she should do fine.

I wonder why Carrie Savage couldn't return. Maybe she WAS available but the casting director wanted to go with another approach.
If the rumors are true, Varona just might be Brina's first California voice acting role.

Well would you look at that, the rumours are true.
- Varona: Brina Palencia
- Chikage: Grant George
- Ruri: Cristina Vee
- Mika: Kira Buckland
- Akane: Brianna Knickerbocker
I'm pleasantly surprised and wondering if Aniplex is spying on me, since I was complaining about a lack of cast confirmations yesterday :P

Brianna got another role already after her debut. Can't wait to hear her as Akane.
It's official.
Brina Palencia is now getting Los Angeles voice roles.
I have no idea what this means. Is she planning to move there? Does she go to CA often?
She's done voices for a few L.A. dubs here and there. And she's had some on-screen work lately (she appeared on a recent ep of Castle)
I don't know if she's moving there or not. But it's nice to see her in a reasonably big dub. Rather funny too that she's the second cast member from Baccano's dub to be in Durarara (the other being Carrie Savage)

Brina has a Funimation engineer brother (Gino). She clearly has ties with Texas. Maybe she finally built a custom home recording booth.
Carrie Savage has been in FMA:BROTHERHOOD, Ouran, starred in Selty Rei, and many other Funimation titles despite living in California.
So this is the first anime I've actually kept up while it's happening and the wait for July is endless.
At least I got time to actually watch Baccano now.
Richard Epcar as Sloan just makes things very funny.
Anyone know who voices Yodogiri?
Never mind. Heard mention that Simon Prescott did the old man who talked to Sloan and Vorona and Liam for the one Izaya talked to on the phone.
I chuckled at that scene. Reminds me of something Persona related that can work.
The moment I realized it was Liam was interesting to say the least — I've clearly been watching too much Critical Role, as after it dawned on me and Jinnai stabbed Izaya in a sneak attack, I made the lame pun that's been somewhat of a running gag in the series.

Christ I've missed you, Izaya; you are exactly the biggest prick.
Should've checked the list. The best prick some might say.
Watching the episode now for the Ten!! season.
I'm just laughing at how the most manipulative bastard in the show is confined to a bed. :D
OK, Izaya tricking the cops into believing that Shinra was responsible for his stabbing was pretty funny.
This whole episode was basically a rerunion of Durarara bit characters.
