Level E and Madoka Magica are the best shows of the season, from what I've seen. Not to say that they're the same at all, it's just that both are excellent but in different ways. Hourou Musuko works better in manga format, I feel, due to pacing and seiyuu issues. I haven't watched Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka because it seems too... typical and gimmicky?

I didn't care for Zombie myself, but a fair number of people really like it

Fractale is decent, and Star Driver continues to be...well, basically the same as it was in the fall. Whether that means "awesome" or "terrible" depends who you ask.

I guess it is.

I'm actually planning on checking out Star Driver sometime, even though I'm not a mecha person. I'm a fan of HAM and Ho Yay, and I hear that this series has oodles of both.

Star Drivers Ho Yay levels are vastly, vastly, vastly overstated, but there's still some of it.

It's more that you get desensitized to both the camp and the Ho Yay after a while. This last episode in particular was basically nothing but Ho Yay

Madoka ftw. Onii-chan is funny yet stupid, and I'll take it anyway.

Downloading Mitsudomoe 2 but not watching it cause I'm only at the first season - I'll comment on that when I get to it.

Anyone want to do a season rundown of what you thought was good/bad/So Bad, It's Good?

Disappointed in the ending of Star Driver, but that should probably be talked about in it's own thread.

Looking forward to more of Digimon Xros Wars.

Dragon Crisis needed more episodes... SO MUCH LEFT TO EXPAND ON! I wanted to see the dragon country (with requiset meeting of Rose's parents) at leastsad

Cardfight Vanguard took me by surprise. It started out as a generic TCG show with no real plot other than the main character, who is a complete noob to the game, wanting to fight the person who got him interested in the game and has stayed that way. No Big Bad, no End of the World as We Know It, no Damsel in Distress, etc., just the main character going through the paces of learning how to play the game and the characters around him. It works because the game is different than I have seen before (with a number of new nuances if you can get past the "basic tutorial" first few episodes), the people are quite the "characters" and easy to relate to, and is just fun to watch. Basically, a Breather Show.

(I think it Needs More Love and am talking about it here because I can't think of a better place to put it)

From the sound of it, I should check out Madoka Magica and Level E, if I ever get the time.

...does Index count for this season even though it premiered the previous season?

Good: Gosick, Dragon Crisis, Level E, that incest show with the comically long name, Kore Wa Zombie Desuka?

Better Than Expected(surprised that it's good): Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica*

, Infinite Stratos*

So Okay, It's Average:Freezing*

Shit:Wolverine*

...Sturgeon's Law my ass...

...but I wish they made atleast 1 GAR show this season or next season...I want to experience something like Needless again.just bugs me

The best season is..."something cute", "something sweet", "something booby" and "something GAAAAAAARRR!!"...the last part is so hard to find. I think they tried to achieve that with Wolverine. But Wolverine is no Adam Blade...

...so how's Yumeki Merry? Didn't have time to check it out.

[up]@Freezing: Check out the manga. It's much better. I admit I didn't see past the first couple episodes of the anime and it hit "They Changed It, Now It Sucks!" for me, but the interactions between the main characters and the necessary setting information are laid out in a much more logical fashion at the beginning. It helps that he has to actually work to get her acceptance/affection.

Didn't watch much this season but;

  • Kore wa Zombie desu ka: Worth a watch.
  • Oniichan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara ne* : Better than I anticipated.
  • Madoka Magica: Easily the best show I watched this season. If I only watched a few more shows I would say it is the best this season.
  • Infinite Stratos: Nothing special but it wasn't dissappointing, so it has that going for it.
  • Remember my Lovecraft: Easily the worst show I watched this season. The only thing worthwhile about it was KSPAM's reaction.

With a few others I've had my eye on, I'd say it wasn't a bad season.

Remember my Lovecraft

I completely forgot about that show!(since no one talked about it...) Gonna go watch it...

edit:It's a flash anime sad...I was hoping for....anime anime....

It helps that he has to actually work to get her acceptance/affection.

So the manga wouldn't make the audience wish she would cut off the persistent nosy kid's hand in the first few chapter/episode?

Nope. Mostly because she is not far from doing it... at least initially.

I dare say it would be tolerable as an anime. But as an 5 minute flash*

it is very lackluster. To make things worse, I've seen amateur flashes on Newgrounds done in better quality. Check it out if you want, but it is one of the few things that I'll say is not worth it.

[up][up][up][up] Can I get a link to KSPAM's reaction? That sounds amusing.

And with a title like "Remember my Lovecraft", I have to see it, even if it's horrible.

Well, some of the flash artists in New Grounds genuinely spent years working on their skills and just making a single flash animation...so while 99% are complete crap, with that many people there, you're bound to see atleast 1 talented artist.

^^ Just check out this thread's first page. He mellows out by page 2, but it is still lulz worthy.

^ That's the thing, it's not just one artist. There are many people who made flash one-shots better than all 12 twelve episodes of Haiyoru. Granted, Sturgeon's Law is in great effect there, but when you have amateurs beating professional even when they should lack the resources of the latter, you know something's wrong.
