Alright, confess odd things.

For example, I'm jealous to my big brother becuase he discovered The Smiths first. Dammit, now I can't have a crush for Morrisey without feeling weird about it.

I found this scene from Fate/Stay Night to be genuinely clever.

I felt kind of disgusted halfway throug BioShock Infinite (Warning spoilers!)

After Elizabeth kills Daisy Fitzroy, she changes her white dress to the most often seen in advertisements, blue skirt and white corset. This made feel bad because during the whole game I was protecting her, kind of like if she was my sister or daughter I predicted the plot twist!. The thing is, seeing her cleavage made me feel ashamed of myself (Let's be real here, she has huge tracks of land), like suddenly someone I knew developed in seconds and made everything awkward. I already knew that she was eventually going to use the skirt/corset combo (It's on the fucking cover after all) and I hadn't actually given much thought to her attire. But in that moment all I wanted to say was "Now Elizabeth! You are not going out wearing that!".

I don't know if this makes me sexist, conservative or a future overprotective dad, but kudos to 2K for making me experience something I hadn't felt before, specially when it makes even more sense after watching the ending.

I am not a crep, okay?

[down]Not quite the word I was looking for but sure fits the description

I fucking abhor that outfit.

I don't care so much about how it's sensual, but rather thanit's so bloody damn tacky. It's a freaking eyesore.

To me, at any rate.

Random thing, but believe it or not alcohol actually saved my life a couple months ago. Towards the end of March I had hit a low point, and made plans with my stepdad to go to a local gun show. The intent was to get the means to shoot myself. However I got completely shitfaced on AM Fs the night before, and was too hungover to go that day. Then, I realized how stupid my idea was and began to pull myself out of the hole. Now, I'm doing much better.

Yeah, that was a dark moment there, lol. Now I realize how foolish that line of thinking was - after all I got viruses to study and cure!

And looking back I'm damn glad I was mega-hungover.

I thought the Kenny Wayne Shepherd song "Blue on Black" was a country music song that weaseled its way onto the classic rock station.

I feel ridiculous. I just cancelled my Neopets premium membership that I got I-don't-know-how-long-ago out of curiosity and soon realized wasn't the best choice regarding what to do with my money. I set the reason for cancelling to "other", and since I was apparently supposed to explain what that reason was exactly, this is what I put in:

I take too many hiatuses for this to have ever been a good idea. I would have canceled long ago, but... I know this sounds pathetic, but I'm too shy to even fill out this box.

Hard to explain and to express, forever just a work in progress (he/they)

Whether or not I like a song depends more on the genre than the actual quality of the song.

I've only seen people say the reverse, so I thought it was odd. Is there anyone else here that agree that the genre matters more than the quality when it comes to what you like?

Nope. Except maybe in a very general sense in that I'll take a shitty song from a genre I like over a song from a genre that makes me want to puncture my eardrums, but beyond that no. I will take what I consider to be quality over some song from my favourite genre in every other case except for the above mentioned.

I don't particularly like grunge, rap, or metal. In fact I HATE grunge. Probably because it was all they ever played on Pandora in my drawing class

Really? When I took art classes back when I was a kid, all they would ever play is impressionist and New Age music.

And then my art class in high school, I mostly remember a lot of Beatles, including one time where the teacher just up and put on Yellow Submarine. (As you can probably tell, my art teacher was an aging hippie.)

[up]Most of my life, I deliberately shunned anything that wasn't country, probably in part because my peers at least pretended to shun everything that was country, and call me a hillbilly for listening to it. Although I bet every single person who made fun of me owned every Alan Jackson album.

Now I hear people saying things like "Well, I really like Sam Hunt's songs, but they're so far-removed from country in their sound that I hate him just because he's hijacking a genre for a quick buck... he's about as country as Daft Punk" etc. etc. I just say, "Well, if you like his music, why get hung up on what genre it's being marketed as? If it's a good song, the genre is ultimately irrelevant."

It doesn't really matter to me, as there are a number of rap (I think it was Gorillaz that showed me Rap isn't as bad as I thought) and dubstep songs that I like. Country never grew onto me, so it's exempt.

Does anyone listen to half a song (or the first quarter) and then realize you don't want to listen to it and skip it?

Life is hard, that's why no one survives.

I find it hard to listen to whole albums

If i buy an album i just end up listening to a few of the songs from it that i like most over and over

i just dont have the attention span

of course i dont mention this around musical people so i dont get throttled to death

im just a song person rather than an album person
