From what I can tell the idea God is actively involved in every single event is a bit of insane troll logic. I’m guessing people read/hear that he’s omnipotent and equate the ability to do everything with the desire to control everything.
Odd part about this is there are Bible passages the specifically cover the parts about free will and the Christian websites are pretty good about going over things in detail.
Although the opposite is true about the “infallibility of the Bible” idea. In which Christians pick a number of passages that talk about how awesome God and the things he say are and decides that theses passages magically make the entire Bible perfect.

Well, in there defenses it is in the Bible. Though the part where they believe it’s the infallible word of God is certainly in question. Not to mentioned the passage where it’s written that “The Holy Scripture is inspired by God” was written by the same cat who wrote all the misogyny and I doubt he knew the letter he was writing was going to become holy scripture at the time. Also, Paul was using logic out of the book of Genesis. The whole, “Jesus fulfilled the old covenant” thing sort of brings into question some of the legitimates of this logic.
Still, it’s in the Bible! 
Be fair about that- first of all, several errors and outright intentional changes by various people have occured in the thousands of years the Book has taken to get to this point. The harmless confusion about whether Jonah was swallowed by a whale or a fish makes one wonder about more harmful changes. The BOOK, as an object, is certainly fallible, God's word is not. (From a Christian perspective.)

Any time the anti-gay marriage people get to talking about how gay marriage will lead to marriage of father and daughter, or marriage of man and goat, it gets me to wondering if these guys even know how marriage actually works, like how both parties have to not only consent to sign the papers, but have to actually be able to sign the papers as well.
