Beast Machines was an experiment in offering the same character in different price points, so you don't have to shell out for the expensive toys to get the big names. The problem was that the designs for the characters were radically different, and the show designs were based off the later designs and not the first wave. So in addition to mediocrity, it was a bad case of Show Accuracy/Toy Accuracy. A handful were okay and there was some cool sculpting, but the look was really weird. It was like Transmetal II meets Tron. Plus many of them were not good enough to stand on their own, let alone pose, which I consider to be a major hallmark of a good toy.
As for the Quintessons, it seems like the movie series is heading in that direction, with almost no hint of Primus in sight. The magical nature of the Allspark is the closest we got to some sort of deity being involved, plus Cybertron itself was destroyed.
Air Attack optimus was released well after the toyline ended, and in another Toyline!
The Optimus I got was blue, and translucent, and lame. The Cheetor I got was decent, but couldn't stand on it's own. And the Nightscream (Because I was a sadist at age 10 okay, I bought three of these things) was so ugly when some kid took it from me, I didn't even care.
It makes the oil crises so much more potent to know that part of the reason we're running out of the stuff was because it was used to build the plastics that made those figures.

So about the new cartoon since the Decepticons are escaped prisoners I wonder if any will be a Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain, Punch-Clock Villain, or Defector from Decadence who don't really care about the war and just want to be left alone and not go back to jail for fighting for the side that lost?

You mean like Grimlock?
Well yes there's Grimlock, but there's apparently a "couple of hundred" according to Fixit. Grimlock can't be the only one who wants to turn over a new leaf. Though has it been made clear why he joined Bumblebee's Team? If I recall the previews correctly he offered to help out for the chance to fight someone (Underbite I think).
Apparently RID 2 will be more lighter, take time to set up jokes, and even be "goofier."
Whelp, sounds like 99% of Comedy Network's series as of late. Now the question is, if this gets screwed over anyway, what will it mean for the network.
Anyway, I'm not looking forward to Transformers Go. Good thing I rolled snake eyes. Always bet on CN if you like losing bets, or regretting betting at all.

Beware of occasional bad attitude. I do Fanfics on deviantART. Witness me make a mockery out of myself there, too.Don't count your chickens before they hatch, bro.
Sure, a lot of CN's funny shows are, well, funny. But they get into heavy territory like it was nothing. note
Who's to say that it'll be all fun and games for RID 2? For all we know, what Word of God says could be just a ploy so that they can catch us with our pants down with their Knight of Cerebus.
I decided to buy Combiner Wars Optimus Voyager. Nice.

Hmm, looks like Cartoon Network's putting Robots in Disguise at... 6:30 AM.
Well, might as well make it official. *rolls dice, gets, you guessed it, snake eyes.*
I'm starting to think our dealer is using loaded dice. Our dealer needs to be replaced. Either way, I'm not betting even a little. Always bet on CN if you like losing bets.

Beware of occasional bad attitude. I do Fanfics on deviantART. Witness me make a mockery out of myself there, too.I watched Transformers Armada at 6:30 in the morning every day for a while as a kid, even though I didn't really like it that much. Having this show in that timeslot seems oddly appropriate to me.
Dude.
The chickens. Have not. Hatched. Yet.
Do not. Count. The unhatched. Chickens.
While I admit, 6:30 in the morning sounds like a tad much, we shouldn't lose faith this soon.
Maybe if we the fans are loud enough, they might reconsider moving the usual time slot to somewhere a little more reasonable.
Really, hasn't it occured to you guys that if we keep talking about how this show is "doomed", then it WILL be doomed?
Law of Attraction, bros. Look it up.

The show certainly isn't doomed. Sonic Boom airs at an early morning timeslot, and still regularly gets better ratings that almost all the shows on Toonami. Transformers Armada aired in an early morning timeslot, and was successful enough to have 2 sequels air on the network.
As long as this show sells enough toys, Hasbro will pay for new episodes, and CN will air them. That's how these things work. The show doesn't even need to be good (but I'd hope it will be).
I remember back when transforming one of these was an actual challange, instead of just flipping something.
Your momma's so dumb she thinks oral sex means talking dirty.I vaguely remember Beast Wars being on in the morning back in the day. Would watch it in my room before I'd go to school. I think the first episode I watched was "A Better Mousetrap". Good times.

Going by some of the previews they released it seems Optimus is alive by very early in the series. You see him Throw underbite off a cliff and talk to Bumblebees team. I fully expected Hasbro to not have the balls to keep him dead that long but i didn't expect him to be back this fast.
The more I see the more I get the feeling this will be a sequel to Prime only in very loose terms.

Dudes.
Hasbro's doing it. They're doing a Leader class Ultra Magnus figure that's based on his appearance in the IDW-verse! And he even comes with Minimus Ambus!
Also, the Protectobots are joining the Combiner Wars!
So I read the draft of the original Transformers movie. There's a lot of interesting ideas there that I feel got unused. The battle at Autobot City feels less like a curb stomp that kills off the 84-85 Bot cast and more even. Special mentions go to: Bluestreak cutting Thundercracker in half (though he appears later on Cybertron-only to get eaten by Ingestor/Unicron with Skywarp and Shockwave) and Powerglide and Warpath tag teaming Blitzwing and sending him smoking into the fishing hole.
Dinobots do better here then in the final cut sending the Decepticon forces scattering. "we FOLLOW DINOBOTS IN as they TRANSFORM AGAIN and, in dino mode, SWOOPS OVER DECEPTICONS, LANDING ON THEM with crushing results, tearing, stomping, SCORCHING AND FIREBOMBING this way and that as Megatron runs, shouting, blasting~, trying to regroup his fleeing troops"
The Predacons were originally meant to be "Anibots" (Simba/Lion, Pardo/Leopard, Shriek/Eagle, Thump/Buffalo, Clump/Rhino). Also Wheeljack has speaking parts and doesn't die.
The whole "Life Spark" concept is interesting and yet confusing. As I understand it the Life Spark needs to be placed into an urn less it rise into space and fade into oblivion. Oh and Megatron isn't dumped into space he "dies" in the Hall of Heroes while his forces are fighting over who'll lead next. Specifically the in-fighting causes a statue to fall and crush him into "a thousand metal pieces". The graves of the other "heroes" (Ghoulon, Murdron, and Bloodron) are similarly wrecked and they all float off into space together. Wow, great job respecting your dead, guys!.
Still I could see Unicron "summoning" Megatron's life spark to him given he was like an Eldritch Abomination as the Ingestor particularly since he's become the TF's equivalent of the Devil later on. Especially with Megatron swearing vengeance as he fades which leads in to his Deal with the Devil moment. Even if it might not make much sense I like it more then "jettison some weight" and the fallen Decepticons just happen to meet up with Unicron. Also with the other dead ancient Decepticons becoming Galvatron's minions it avoids the whole "who became Cyclonus/Scourge/Sweeps/Armada" issue.

I prefer the way megs went in the film, but that scene would probably make more since then Astrotrain suddenly being able to house all of the 84-85 cast including a combined Devestator.
Got me a Masterpiece Star Sabre.
He's a tall fucker.
Nice. Never cared for the design myself, but it looks like a neat toy. Three seperate units, four if you include the brainmaster. He's a few centimeters taller then Masterpiece Ultra Magnus.
3 units WITH the brainmaster
Brain of Courage
Saber (Red Jet)
V-Star (Space Pontoon thing)
4 will be if they make Masterpiece Victory Leo (He does come with combiner ports for a potential Leo)

So.
We've been having quite the news regarding female Transformers recently, haven't we?
Windblade's coming to Transformers: Robots in Disguise!
Also, we're gonna see our first female Combiner!
As you can see, I've changed my avatar symbol and other things for the occasion.
So, Takara has announced Masterpiece Ironhide (With picture)
And.... (Roll Drums)
Masterpiece Optimus Primal
No pictures or details yet but it's assumed to be Season 1 Optimus.

That reminds me as 2016 comes closer so does the 20th Anniversary of Beast Wars.

95% ass. Air Attack Optimus Primal is actually kinda cool. And Blackarachnia's toy was okay. Probably the only one that resembled herself, despite the giant FU fingers.
