I just realized I'm a year older than Domon.
Damn, I'm old. And compared to him, I have accomplished NOTHING with my life.
Domon's saved the solar system before he's even reached the legal drinking age. I don't think any of us would do well to compare ourselves to him.
"If there's a hole, it's a man's job to thrust into it!" — Ryoma Nagare, New Getter RoboThat being said, how old is Rain?
Neither goony beard-men nor rainbow-haired she-twinks will stand in the way of my dreams!mass wild guessing here;the devil gundam is a reaper or based on reaper tech]]; think about it, it desires the extiction of humanity, has the ability to revive dead organics as zombies (AKA husks!!) and appears to be able to warp the views of others towards it's own (AKA indocternation!!)
Thread Hop: Man, I loved this series.
^^^This series runs off of sheer camp, so that fits in.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelIts greatest achievement, perhaps, is sticking to the Gundam franchise's themes while being completely out-of-genre.
That being said, how old is Rain?
She and Domon are both twenty. In anime protagonist years, they're kinda getting on in their years. (Seriously, who decided that sixteen was the prime age to pilot a giant robot anyways?)
"If there's a hole, it's a man's job to thrust into it!" — Ryoma Nagare, New Getter RoboExecutives, apparently. Tomino originally wanted to make Amuro 18.
Not only is G Gundam the best Gundam series ever for me, but it's also sort of what Gurren Lagann should have been the whole way through. No cop-out True Art Is Angsty ending in this stupid, cheesy Hot-Blooded Giant Robot show; it stuck to it's tone and morals all the way!

Fun game: when watching TTGL, see how many scenes from G Gundam you can recognize.
G Gundam is about the only Gundam series I can stand; no complicated emotional issues, political messes or IT'S A GUNDAM!!! here, just good ol' cheese-coated martial arts robot action! With lots of shining/burning fingers to boot.
EXACTLY.
And handling it differently is why G is much more bearable. I hate to shit on Wing, but I about fall asleep every time it's an episode with nothing but talking.
Don't forget Domon inadvertently trolling Kamille:
Domon: ARE YOU MAN ENOUGH, KAMILLE?!
Kamille: What do you think, of course I am!
And the Domon/Zechs/Puru team, can't forget that. Pure hilarity.

Neither goony beard-men nor rainbow-haired she-twinks will stand in the way of my dreams! How true.
Essentially, G Gundam is the franchise's way of recognizing its Super Robot roots.
I'm so annoyed about episode 45 because Allenby is just unconscious after Rain saved her, and there's no interaction between them on this episode, and so on the episodes after this.
Guys no! You have devoured all the scenery! You will have major indigestion!
Now I do love G Gundam because it made it's own rules and stuck to them. And once the silliness was properly realized it became a whole lot more bearable and enjoyable.
That and I cried at the deaths of Kyoji and Master Asia as I stated in the original Gundam Thread.
Also TTGL being inspired by G Gundam is possible. A friend and I compared the Devil Gundam's lower torso/crotch to the Gunmen of TTGL.
Someone edited a video of the TTGL ending using audio from the G Gundam ending. (like with Simon having Domon's lines, Anti-Spiral being defeated with Sekiha Love-Love Tenkyoken, etc.) It was amazing.
TTGL drew on every super robot show before it, so there must be some influence.
I felt that the Devil Gundam's design was a real weak point. Just a Gundam torso... on a Gundam head. It doesn't look wrong as in eldritch, it looks wrong as in someone mislayed the parts. It would have been better to give up the iconic Gundam head for that one design and go for a techno-organic look, a mass of tentacles with no clear center.
A blog that gets updated on a geological timescale.Didn't it combine both designs with the Colony gundam? Mass of tentacles and giant head.
Nothing beats finding out that Tomokazu Seki also voices Ezio Auditore da Firenze.
Neither goony beard-men nor rainbow-haired she-twinks will stand in the way of my dreams!
This has to be my favorite Gundam mainly cause it introduced me to Gundam, I'm also a fan of the dub.
