This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Well, since this is the third I've been suspended, I take responsibilities for my actions, and I'd rather be better off moving marked tropes to YMMV/Trivia pages than not realizing that I'm breaking the rules.

I'm trying to fight back any tears right now for what happened. I'll try explain.
There was a game being released for the 3DS Virtual Console. Well, several games. Being a long time Mega Man fan, I got excited over the prospect of "Mega May" that was announced a while back, in which the rest of the GB Mega Man games would be released on the 3DS Virtual Console throughout May and beyond.
Said event happened to be No Export for You for my region. I just... don't even know why. That... turned out to be my Berserk Button.
I don't know what... what I did. I'm just so depressed and upset about my actions now. I don't know what came over me. I've even lost the will to play any games anymore. I'm just so depressed that this has happened to me.
There is nothing that can cheer me up after this. I just want the whole day to restart.

@Ecclytennysmithylove: Not only are you not persuading me, sending me PMs pointing out issues with the wiki that you "could be fixing" is only going to make me turn off those privileges as well. If you want to retain any ability to access the wiki, you would do well to accept our decision.

UPDATE: Last night, I sent an email to the thestaff@tvtropes.org to appeal my suspension. If the resulting decision doesn't turn out what I expect, then I regret that I became a member of TVTropes.
I thought you guys weren't suppose to make me feel bad and distance myself from the site. I trusted you. I'm 23 years old single woman who's desperately searching for a husband. I was diagnosed with Aspergers syndrome at the age of 10, and I sometimes lose my temper whenever things don't go right, though I'm slowly getting better.

You thought wrong. Our job isn't to make sure you don't feel bad. Our job is to protect the wiki. And what your life is or isn't is not really anything we can do anything about. The "poor me" card has no value.

Well, you guys are really helping me getting over my problem.
And you're right about the "poor me" card having no value, but it's the truth about me. I've also been a victim of emotional abuse in past (as mentioned in my Doctor Who DMOS post on the episode "Father's Day"). Example: being insulted by someone because of my poor communication.

We're not going to lift your wiki-editing ban. The point that matters is that however well-intentioned you are, you're making messes that have to be cleaned up by someone else. That doesn't make the wiki better, it makes it worse and it means someone else has to do extra work just to bring it back to the condition it was in before.

I feel better now since my rage the other day.
I still feel really, really bad about it, though. I just want to forget the whole experience. Just thinking about it now makes me really sad and depressed.
Well... I feel ready to edit again.
I just don't want to be reminded of my rage from last week though, because that now gives me a horrible feeling of depression in my stomach and makes me feel down and not want to do anything for a while.

I'd like to think you can be trusted in this, but the very last kind of person we want editing the wiki is a violent mood-swinger who thinks that a video game not being available is worth the kind of anger you displayed, on both the wiki and forums. Maybe we aren't a match for you.

I guess the damage then, is irreparable. I want to go back in time and stop the whole ordeal from happening in the first place.
This is the worst month to occur in my life. I feel like I want to kill myself, but I don't want to die either. I want to live my life to the fullest.
Perhaps I should take a longer break from here for now to help me calm down.

A brother of mine has spoken with me in the last half-hour in a lone and quiet conversation. He mainly told me to stop getting angry over video games not being released in my region, especially posting angry things about it, as it would lead to bad things like this happening. He also told me that games could just be taking a long while to come out in the region, using Earthbound's Wii U Virtual Console release as an example of a game that took many years to finally come out in the region.
He told me that TV Tropes was just a fun, silly website. Nothing more. He told me that I was happy before I even signed up, and that even if the worst comes to the worst, he told me that I could still read it and all the comments on it after I can't edit it anymore.

Alright, so here's a rundown of how it all happened.
-An artist listed on the Nu Metal page that is pretty much universally considered to belong to the genre got removed by bornofself. Homeboy listed flimsy reasons for why they didn't belong.
-I restored it, thinking he didn't know any better.
-He reverted that, repeating the original reason for removing it. I restored it again and an edit war ensued.
-Septimus Heap reverted that and called for a discussion topic. Fair enough. I went in and stated my position.
-Homeboy was given at least five days to respond. Didn't hear a peep from him, so I figured that he had forgotten or given up or whatever.
-Decided to restore it because I was under the impression that it was over; additionally, I left a very clear message stating that he had been given plenty of time to state his case and that his failure to do so meant that I wasn't going to wait for him any longer. The edit stuck.
-Came back one day to find out that homeboy was back, had reverted my edit, and had left a rude message that contained a personal attack in the discussion page.
-Between the rudeness and the strong likelihood that he was aware of the discussion and just didn't feel like participating, I was pretty annoyed. Didn't feel like being nice, so I went off on him. Admittedly, this wasn't the best way to go about it, but wasting my time trying to be constructive and civil with someone who clearly doesn't feel like doing the same isn't something I feel overly inclined to do.
This is where we are now. I'm still not happy with the situation, but given that this is a bump in the road as a whole, not being able to edit over something as asinine as this is certainly frustrating. Any idea how this is going to be resolved?

Hey. Just here trying to figure out why I'm suspended. Also doesn't it seem a little weird to not let us even look at discussions or lost and found while we're suspended? I mean you could just have it set up so that we get the notice when we actually try to post. I get that you want us to talk to you but it seems a little too "in your face" to have it set up like that.

In fact I can find no trace of his alleged personal attack anywhere.

"Stop vandalizing this page" is pretty unambiguously hostile and reads like an attack. If anything, the person doing the vandalism was him - removing a valid entry just because definitely fits the bill.

@Hastur: That's why we have discussion pages, PMs, and all the other various tools of communication — to give you a way to work out disagreements that don't involve turning the articles into your battleground. Worst case, just report the issue and let us deal with it.
There is never a call for what you said, ever.
@Spoon Elemental: You were properly natterfied about Manga.Jo Jos Bizarre Adventure and then made a rude response via PM. The notification tool is designed to help people learn from their mistakes. Treating it as a personal attack is not only missing the point but will cause you to lose the right to edit.

Homeboy was given a chance to discuss it and appears to have been aware of the thread's existence. Did he respond? Nope. Ball was in his court; if he didn't return, that was his problem. I've better things to do than wait for someone who apparently doesn't care to actually try and reason, which was the original approach I tried.

This is exactly what we're talking about. Most people, seeing a message on the article reading "No examples, please" would realize that we mean No examples, please. Not you, apparently, which is part of the reason we're here. You aren't the only person who's able to transplant YMMV and Trivia examples, either.
