I'm just amused that her Gae Bolg seems to take inspiration from the Fate/EXTRA version.
I guess it is the more visually impressive one.
Also yeah, we see the origin of Lancer's weird tights get up.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.So I got my folks caught up on the UBW anime and, after taking a long time to explain to my mother Heroic Spirit EMIYA's backstory and why he wants to kill Shirou (among many other things), my mother thought everyone was forgetting about Gilgamesh and that he would save Rin.
The idea of Gilgamesh saving Rin is so ridiculous that I'm surprised I didn't laugh.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!If I recall, doesn't Gilgamesh spend most of his time during this arc of the route basically just looming in the background?
Also, really? This is the route where Gilgamesh's big scene is him slaughtering a Master and her servants (both big S and small s), and that's just from the VN. I am not caught up with the anime (...by a longshot. .-.) but the opening act added a scene which basically confirmed more that he was a villain.

Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Yeah, the anime had Gil slaughtering them, too. I have no idea why she believed that.
EDIT: Oh! Something I've been meaning to ask: What was Gil talking to Sakura about during the prologue?

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!If I recall, he was calling her trash and telling her to go die.
Something like that.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Sounds like Gil. Oh, what a character he is.
He says that to almost everyone. In other words, she's "normal" by his standards.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Question: which is older, Grimmjow or our beloved Lancer?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.@Marq - that comes from her profile on the FGO official site. It's been there since she's been announced.
...
Also damn, that outfit looks very flattering on her. I never though I'll say it, but Cu you lucky bastards!
.........
Yeah, Gil spends mos of UBW just doing nothing and somehow tolerating Shinji. Not what people who liked him in Zero were expecting I'm sure.
Yeah I always wondered what importance the scene with Sakura and Gilgamesh was supposed to have. I think it was meant to be setting up Sakura knowing about the war and stuff but Gilgamesh has fuck all to do with the HF route.
There are official profiles already? I suppose that it's still glossing over her and other Servants' true identities, right? What about already-known ones, like Arturia?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. The profiles are added as soon as the Servant is announced.
And yep, for some reason they are hiding Saber identity, though what's the point I don't know.
It's not Artoria at all, it was Guinevere all along.
For new fans/newcomers only. Anyone who plays or reads first Fate series might avoid the spoiler stuff.
... I thought It Was His Sled / Late-Arrival Spoiler is in full play for Saber's identity by now.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. So was Archer, but Fate/EXTRA hid that for the entire game.
Well if you were a newcomer, what is your first time you are going to learn about Saber?
Her class servant name than her real name, of course.
To be fair, I know two people who were watching UBW as their first foray into Fate (though one of them I know watched Fate/Zero first). Neither of them knew Archer's identity in advance, though they both ended up guessing it before the "official" reveal.
Then again, the hints get progressively less and less subtle as they ramp up to it.
Archer's reveal isn't treated as a Stunning revelation
cause Shirou himself treats it more like... the simple realization of... "So I'm the Asshole." -which is the alternate title to UBW... I was the asshole all along.
I mean its just kinda a matter of fact at that point.
But Arha, "Guinevere" never really existed, it was always Arturia putting on a (different) dress and pretending to be her own wife.
Nobody was actually fooled but she seemed to be pretty happy that she could act ladylike for once so no one had a heart to tell her.
Well, that certainly complicates their relationship with Lancelot.
From the Archer Matrix:
A hero without a name. A fictional Legendary Soul. A fake.
The remnants of a person who spent his human life in the pursuit of justice. While the man who spawned this Legendary Soul was once a real, living being, the slow passage of time has completely erased his entire existence from the records of human history.
The weapons he uses in battle are not technically real, but are created using thaumaturgy technique known as Projection. All of the weapons at his disposal are simply manifestations of those he sees in his mind's eye and then materializes in the real world.
02 - "Ally of Justice"
In his mortal life, Archer was a magus who barely deserved the title, although he was a Master in a previous Holy Grail War. While not even remotely in the same league as Rin Tousaka, he did possess Magic Circuits capable of a single function.
While many people prate about the justice and equality, he actually went out of his way to be an "Ally of Justice", often at the expense of his own freedom. When faced with a potential disaster that was beyond his power to prevent, he willingly sold his soul to the Moon Cell in return for a miracle. Now, instead of playing the part of the hero, he willing plays that of a Servant instead.
As for the human he once was, no traces of that person exist. Instead, he is now the personification of what most people would imagine one who holds the title of "Ally of Justice" to be.
From Fate/EXTRA Material:
The source of this Heroic Spirit differs to others, it can not be said that this Heroic Spirit is legitimate.
(...)
The Archer in stay night is noted to share the same existence (but not the same person), however both Heroic Spirit identity is different.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. That seems like a needlessly technicality laden hair splitting convolution... Just so you don't have to outright say Archer in Extra is Shirou but Archer still uses the Emiya theme.
Hey someone remembers Canaan.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.
