Agreed on Miyuki being recognized. That just wouldn't be any fun. And yeah, the first time Haruhi dragged Kyon into closed space in front of Tsuruya, she promised to prove to Kyon that their "harem" could work by the time his birthday came around, and then charged him with getting them to Hinamizawa on that day. Kyon doesn't know that these two things are related (judging from his narration then and since, at least), but they are.

Ah! right...

I got the idea Haruhi decided first about going to Hinamizawa for Kyon's birthday abourd the time Kyon told them the date and later (no later then thet Closed Space scene) decided to use that chance for teling Kyon about the beta harem.

That reminds me, Kyon seems to have modeled his ideals of friendship after his uncle and aunts. Maybe now he will understand why he only got one non-Love Interest nakama for his efforts .

More seriously, Kyon is genuinely unaware of the beta harem and I'm having troubles to predict his initial reaction. My current bet is denial, but it will depend on who is going to do the reveal.

Re. Takahashi

I'm pretty sure Sasaki knows Takahashi was framed with something but it's possible that she remained uninformed about the specific charges. BTW, does Sasaki even know that Nonoko was "kidnapped"?

On a related subject, I think is likely that Miyuki knows about Takahashi (she tried to kidnap the little sister of the Kowa Keigo) but I still wonder what she thought of her declaration about magical girls and battles against an army from another dimension (I'm guessing the police is required to file the statement verbatim). I suppose it only could be a problem if Miyuki sees something of that with her own eyes and makes the connection.

Random WMG.

Since the moment I noticed Miyuki has the same Purple Eyes than Rika and Hanyuu I have been wondering if she has some kind of supernatural power. AFAIK, the only unexplained phenomenon that took place close to her was her father's Ripple-Effect-Proof Memory. It would be amusing if Miyuki has the power to see "fairies".

Before I forget to share these again, Esuyuki recently did some pictures of Miyoko. Most◊ of◊ them◊ are her◊ in the K-On school outfit◊ like so.◊ There's also a more traditional◊ head and shoulders shot.

Sasaki visited Kyon and Nonoko in the hospital after the kidnapping, so I'd say yes, she knows.

I'm not sure the officers have actually taken a statement from Nonoko yet. But then last time something like that happened it was entirely offscreen and not really mentioned until later, so who knows.

I'm somewhat confused about that. IIRC, Sasaki heard from Kunikida that Kyon was challenged to fight during class and when she called Haruhi to find out more about the matter, the latter let slip that Nonoko was involved but quickly assured her that Kyon and Nonoko were alright. I suppose Sasaki didn't ask about the fight because she didn't want to appear to seem too nosy about "family business" before the moment she was supposed to.

I haven't watched K On yet, is the anime any good?

If you like the genre, yeah, it's pretty good. I tend to think it leans a bit less towards actual humor and more towards "look how cute we're acting!" as opposed to Lucky Star which I feel is the opposite (although both elements are present in both shows), but it's not bad.

I think that Esuyuki did age Miyoko, since I think he's trying to put her into the K-On universe, so she'd be 15 or 16 maybe in those pictures?

She is 28 in the game, 33 in K:BDH. Miyuki is one of the few characters in Higurashi whose birthday is explicitly stated (Shōwa 53 = 1978). Probably Older Than They Look is in effect, "Mion"◊ doesn't look 40 to me either.

I've been busy with work, company, and Guild Wars 2 Halloween festivities. I should have some free time soon though.

Luckily, my area, as well as the rest of Queens. Manhattan, the Bronx, and Brooklyn, aren't that bad off. Staten Island, however, I cannot say for sure. Still it isn't nearly as bad as what I've seen out of New Jersey.

And you're continuing work on the VN? Since I don't have any time to assist (chem majors have it bad), I'd be curious to know if anyone can provide an accurate status update.

Discussion about the next release point is tentatively complete. We have directing done up to that point but still need a few more sprites and a lot of polish work to get it release-ready.

Also, I'll need to get off my butt on the technical end and figure out just how getting the new content will work.

Re: The VN progress.

As Alethio said, we -are- making progress. We're up to chapter 13. If anyone of you guys has any visual novel (hentai, too) they wish to donate for sprites, i'm happy to receive it. Same thing if you have sprites for anything, spritesheets, backgrounds. I'm always searching.

Just got a response from Rainy via PM'ing her on FF.Net. As I feared, she's been banned yet again (and even she is apparently not quite clear on the reasons why), and had already lost motivation to return to the site anyways.

I'm from NY, and I'm alright. I'm far from the coast, so the hurricane didn't affect me much. Power went out Monday night and returned the next day.

One moment, everything was normal. Then I blinked and all the avatars changed.

Wait. Chapter 13? When was chapter 12 done?? (And I don't think Eamil and The Dark Freak started the easy bits of 11 yet!)

I probably won't get a chance to work on the VN until Monday. I've got to get ready for DnD this weekend, I'm the DM. I'll still hang out in the IRC though.
