Is Ryouko going to be un-chibified at some point? Would be nice.

I think we agree that telling Kyon's parents about the supernatural, at least for now, is a bad idea because they won't be able to handle the truth, but what if they can? I mean, Kyon and Nonoko quickly adapted to the whole saving-the-world business, how can we be sure that Akane and Yuuto would not? Maybe it's something that runs in the family.

I don't think Ryouko can really apologize to Kyon's parents without telling them why she is doing so. IMO, the best way she can atone for it is learning why she should and she is doing a good job until now.

I think that the Data Overmind might have allowed her to be captured in the hopes of activating a hidden program or subroutine or something at the least opportune moment for Kyon and the gang — like when there's no more open loops to Kyon can be dealt with without paradox happening — but Asakura will by then have realized that what she did in the past was wrong, and even when forced to try and do something against the Brigade she won't because that would mean betraying Nonoko.

With some help from Yuki and Kuyou, Asakura gets rids of the unwanted programming, and also gets her old form back as a bonus/sign of trust. She chooses to remain in chibi mode most of the time though, so as to conform to Nonoko's expectations of her.

I can totally see Nonoko reacting to full-size Asakura as Nanoha reacted to human!Yuuno. "You were a human?!"

@Grahf: I think the IDSE deliberately sent Ryouko to be captured because it was predetermined that she will have a pivotal role against the Combine invasion and helping Kuyou to learn to communicate.

@One More: Nonoko is more savvy than that. She probably is going to directly ask why Kuyou can have a human form while Ryouko can't.

Now I think about it, if Ryouko's chibification becomes optional I think she would like to have an excuse to remain un-chibified and visible to normal people. Otherwise, what would be the point?

How about if Tsuruya says to Kyon's parents the un-chibified Ryouko is the personal assistant that she assigned to Kyon? In that way she can visit Nonoko without making them believe she has an Imaginary Friend.

My first idea was introduce her as part of their assigned security detail, but I think it would be more difficult to believe.

Why not both? If Ryoko becomes a trustworthy member of the Brigade, then she could be given some basic fighting abilities(hand to hand, no blades for obvious reasons*

) and join in on the head bashing of the Sumiyoshi-rengo, should they try something again...

Her powers are tied in to and limited by Skynet in her present form; it may be possible for her to slip out of the limiting effects if she's allowed to resume human form. As much as Haruhi might trust her, I don't see Yuki or Kyon ever trusting her enough for that to happen.

Also, so far she's been a lot more valuable in the information-handling/CIC role. Hint: 65-thousand-target precision artillery barrage.

I don't, considering she "knew" Kuyou was a "fairy person who has a smaller form" it isn't strange she'll believe Ryouko has a human-sized form, even if this form is still a augmented reality construct.

@Mad Kitsu: Ryouko as a renowned yakuza enforcer? Her canon counterpart would definitely fill the role, but the K:BDH version?... Wait, I take that back. In this scenario, Ryouko only needs to put on a convincing Knife Nut persona and I'm sure she could if the situation warrants it.

I wonder if she would get a stabby Badass Nickname.

@Sabre's Edge: I'm not sure that Yuki would be against the idea of lessening Ryouko's restrictions. After all, she seemed ashamed of the whole good-child-mode fiasco.

About Kyon, as Nonoko said, there's no way to get on his bad side forever.

Even if his parents could deal with the reveal about the supernatural, being aware of the possibility of the end of the world and not being able to do anything about it is not much fun. Those of you old enough to remember the Cold War with any clarity have some point of reference here.

She could get an awful lot of reputation points in a hurry just by showing up unexpectedly with a knife in Kyon's presence. Anything that would make Kyon visibly nervous would strike the fear of god into those who know Kyon's reputation.

@alethiophile: That approach sounds very plausible. Ryouko in full-interface-power (without IDSE support, though) could be reserved for emergencies.

@Pax Empyrean: How about telling them about the supernatural without revealing its full magnitude? Maybe something along the lines of "the members of the brigade have some special abilities and there are several groups of bad people interested in their powers", in other words, making the Brigade look like a group of ESPers who joined the Tsuruya-tachi for protection. In that way, the Brigade could show a limited version of their capabilities (Haruhi's TK, Kanae's Jumps and Koizumi's Telepathy) to Kyon's parents (and possibly Haruhi and Kanae's) as the first step of many in preparation for a full disclosure in the future. I don't know if Koizumi's family knows about his powers.

In CBS-3 Mori visited Koizumi for breakfast and gave him an envelope from his family. From this scene we can infer that he lives alone in Nishinomiya and Mori is probably his legal guardian. In Fa-1, it was mentioned that he visited his family in Tokyo during Golden Week.

The troll thing was posted using the troperhandle "gafooruddin". As far as I can tell, other 73 threads were affected in a span of 5 minutes. For some reason twice in Madoka's thread case.

The simplest (and boring) explanation would be that Koizumi's family sent him money via Mori.

Wondering about their past, I can help but remind some old WMGs of mine about the Organization. For example, the fact the Organization were in control of a clinic of all things caught my attention. I theorized that that was the result of their search for ESPers. I mean, the awakening of Psychic Powers could be easily confused with metal illness, so paying attention to the psychiatric ward of several hospitals could be an efficient way to look for them. An easier approach could be to make up a rare psychological pathology from the symptoms common among known ESPers and divulge that the hospital in Nishinomiya (or Kobe?) has the best treatment for it. In that way, the Organization can make ESPers come to them instead of the other way around without attracting too much attention to itself.

Before I forget: "[Mori] had better be the pretty-boy's aunt," according to Miyoko at least.

On asakura being a fighter for the sos brigade 1) thats seems like an idea Haruhi would have. We need asakura to have a reputation.... Send her to help kyon without telling him, his reaction will be good enough. And 2) giving how protective she is of nonoko she may want a form that lets her go to school with her. Just pass her off as yuki's cousin.
