Snowclone: Everythings Squishier With Cephalopods

It had been decided long ago on this GarnishingTheStory cleanup thread to split this snowclone into two tropes: Funny Octopus and Tentacled Terror. Now that both have been launched after much debate, I guess it is time to pull the plug on Everythings Squishier With Cephalopods.

I'll try to redirect the examples fitting either of the new tropes over the course of the week.

What's gonna happen with the content of Everythings Squishier With Cephalopods?

I guess we'll see if the examples belong to either new tropes. The examples belonging to nothing (which usually are "This work does feature an octopus somewhere" without any narrative significence, which is Not A Trope) will be deleted.

Same thing happened with Everything's Better With Wolves for example, as it was split between Noble Wolf and Savage Wolves.

There was an old TRS thread for this trope that was closed due to inactivity, but most of its posters didn't think "cephalopods exist" was a trope either.

I put a link shifting all evil examples to the given page, so now we just have to look at the remaining examples.

Do we need the sandbox, by the way?

I wondered if there was a wa to pinpoint where a link is located within a page. I struggle to find the wicks on many a trope page...

I put the current page image under ImageLinks.Tentacled Terror and the single entry on Quotes.Everythings Squishier With Cephalopods under Quotes.Tentacled Terror.

Should we put PlayingWith.Everythings Squishier With Cephalopods, Quotes.Everythings Squishier With Cephalopods, and Sandbox.Everythings Squishier With Cephalopods on the Cut List yet?

I'm sorry I haven't been able to trim down too many wicks these weeks , with my thesis reaching its final stages I can't do much on this site for another month.

^ I'd be fine to cut these pages, although maybe the sandbox can still be useful if the funny octopi examples are properly erased - it would be easier to spot the examples of Tentacled Terror without the funny examples in the way.

We are just on wick cleanup, right?

Also, the image currently on the page would be much better than the current that's on Tentacled Terror.

^^ As for now, I am. Slow as I may be. Got the wick count under 500, which means a lot of more work to do.

Quic question, though, one of the wicks leads me to a tropers personal page, and I am hesitant to edit it myself. Is it OK to erase the wick here ?

Also, I have no experience with how the Pantheon does work.

May I request that this thread be moved to Short-Term Projects to clear up the TRS backlog?

Checking in to see how we're doing regarding the cleanup.

It's clearly ground down to a complete halt. I'll see if I can find some time to finish this.

Someone replaced the image while we were working on this. Honestly, should we put an injunction against any image here, or is this best suited for Image Pickin'?

As someone who occasionally covers for/assists Willbyr in IP, I say take it there. Culprit has been sent an image changes notifier.

Edit: On second thought, the page is being cut anyways once split is done, so the change will be for naught. Let's just finish the split.

Already took care of a couple entries. Both toys sent to Funny Octopus, and Octoroks sent to Tentacled Terror.

Edit: The final unclassified entry in the Anime/Manga section has been classified as Tentacled Terror. That takes care of another folder.

I'll finish up tonight.
