The caption doesn't really add anything, imo, and stretches into the example list even with "Wide Load" mode turned off. image any caption

Agree with removing that caption as well. However am open to any better suggestions.

Remove the caption, at least.

The only other thing that comes to mind as an alternate suggestion is the first panel here.

This◊ image from the Image Links page portrays the modesty part better than current.

I must say, I like 10.1 a bit more than the current.

Does the girl herself have to be "proper", or at least classic proper/demure? Or are tomboys who wear tights under her skirt an example too?

They gotta be proper, thats the stereotype. Tomboys will not typically wear tights their lifestyle will not allow the tights to survive long.

Yoga pants or Modesty Shorts sure.

I do prefer 10 to the current.

I feel like the current's outfit is a more standard example, but 10's posture is more modest so I wouldn't really be opposed to a change if it came to that.

Modest isn't really the look this trope needs though and it looks more meek to me which works against the image. They need to be Prim and Proper akin to the Proper Lady trope or Yamato Nadeshiko.

The current has all of that in the body language.

I would have suggested Perrine from Strike Witches [1]◊ however Skirts don't exist in the universe.

How about Elise from Trails of Cold Steel◊? Armed as well◊ for the Lady of War element that commonly comes with this trope especially the Yamato Nadeshiko ones.

But I know a Tomboy with a Girly Streak character who knows judo and is a Genki Girl and nowhere near delicate, and still wears tights under her skirt. Is that just a coincidence in design that's not this trope, or a played with example, or...?

Yeah that is not the trope.

I feel like current is good enough. I like 16.2 and 16.3, but those are minor improvements at best.
