A Game of Gods Season 3: Renaissance

Go To

The Malone Report of 21600 confirmed the suspicions of many.

For all of known history, there have been legends of heroes and villains, men and monsters who came to this world from others. At first people theorized they were legends of beings beyond the stars, but as civilisation expanded across the final frontier, we learned we were alone in the universe.

As more incursions came to light, we realized that although we were alone in the universe, our universe wasn’t alone.

We were a playground of the gods, those with enough power to travel across the void, to punch holes in the fabric of reality. No hole was the same, though: some were ragged wounds, left carelessly open. Others were dainty incisions, sealed as soon as their creator’s business was done.

Over time, we learned to peer through these holes. Although we could not travel, we could observe. We learned much, copied some. Some worlds were primitive, some advanced, some filled with awesome technology, some powered by magic, and some a mix of all four.

Then one day, a universe turned black. Here one minute, gone the other. No threat to the universe was observed, no reason for it to suddenly stop existing. As we watch, more and more universes died.

The first, and most prevalent theory, was entropy. From what was observed, a universe’s energy did bleed through open holes in it’s fabric. Some of the disappearances conformed to all the hallmarks of a universe that simply ran out of easily accessible energy.

But some did not.

The Malone Report was a product of nearly a decade’s research. It took into account all recorded cases of a universe disappearing of our collective radar, cross-referenced all the data, and came to a conclusion.

Holes in the fabric of reality didn’t only threaten a universe with entropy. It threatened them with instability. Enough instability that a universe could simply cease to exist at any moment.

There was panic. Riots. Revolution.

But with a threat so huge, it would have been irresponsible for the Malone Report to not provide a solution.

Under seemingly random conditions, a hole could self-seal. Although it was rare, a universe could have the punctures in it’s reality sealed, and become stable once more. If a way could be found to seal the wounds, our universe would be saved.

On the 19th of October, 21606, we found our solution.

Through one of our observation posts, we spotted a figure entering another universe. Whatever means she used sealed the hole behind her. That began the years of research on this figure.

Her name is Rook. She’s a woman, or the female of whatever species she is. According to legend, a being of enormous power stole her away from her own world, and set her a series of challenges. She overcome everything thrown her way, and at the end of it all, she refused the reward offered. Over the course of her trials, she had grown to love the lonely god, and the god her.

The god gave her technology out of the enormous cache they had accumulated, and let her wander the multiverse. And although it is supposed to be impossible to find the home of the god, Rook would always know the way.

This woman has the power to seal the holes in our reality. But we’re on a race against time. Our universe grows more unstable by the day. Through observation of Rook, we’ve developed a way of temporarily reopening the holes she makes as she passes. But it can only be done once. Any team we sent would be on a suicide mission, never to return home.

Because even if they found Rook, even if she sealed the holes for us from the other side, our universe has grown so unstable that we can only afford one more hole, however temporary, before the next one destroys us completely.

But there are more universes out there. Through our observation, we have discovered people of great powers and abilities. Although their universes are unstable, they’re more stable than ours. If we can open Rook’s holes to those universes at the right times, we can gather a team. A team to hunt Rook down.

The problem is, once we’ve reopened those holes, we can’t do it a second time. They have to find Rook or never return home.

We here at the Center for Universal Survival took a vote. Unanimously, we decided this plan was completely unethical.

Unanimously, we decided there was no other way.

Hello, and welcome to A Game of Gods: Renaissance, a third-generation AGOG game. Despite my long-winded spiel up there, the premise is simple: a dying civilization has dragged your characters together to hunt down a woman named Rook, who holds the key to saving their universe.

The catch? Our heroes (or villains, or neutrals) have been chosen because their universes are unstable too. And if their universes collapse, they too will cease to exist.

But what does “unstable” really mean? What it means is that the universe is changed, liable to outside forces. Effectively, a “stable” universe is a canon universe.

And thus, to be played in this game, any character must be an Alternate Universe version of a canon character.

What counts as an alternate universe version of a character? Any change to the canon. Perhaps they were born the opposite gender, and this affected how society viewed them. Perhaps their lineage was different, and thus they were born with different abilities. Perhaps the entirety of their society has changed.

Or maybe, just maybe, the big change is that they’ve been a part of the game of gods before.

What we want from our players is creativity. Think long and hard about the change you’re making to the character. How does it affect their story? Do they even go on the journey they do in canon? Does the change affect their status in society? Would different treatment as a result of this change affect their personality? Would the change hamper or help the development of their abilities?

Please also remember that if you giveth, you should also taketh away. A Spider-Man who kept the power-enhancing black suit would have major changes to his personality, and infact may be more monstrous than the one we know and love.

We’re asking you to take the dominoes canon sets up, and knock them down in a new and strange way. Maybe even keep them standing.

With the help of a Handler feeding information into their ears, and a mobile base of operations/portal generator, our Alternates will track down Rook and save their own lives, as well as those of billions of innocent people.

And if that’s not enough motivation, legend has it that Rook knows the way to a cache of godlike technology. Technology that their Handler is all too willing to give as payment.

Despite this being a sequel to two previous sets of games, you don’t have to be an AGOG Veteran to join in on the fun, and inexperienced players are completely welcome. The plot connection between this game and previous games is extremely loose.

So, your mission, if you choose to accept it…

Rules:

Signup Rules:

Characters must be A Us of canon characters. These A Us may be created by you, inspired by other people’s takes on the character, be a “canon” AU (for example, House of M, Marvel 1602, Flashpoint, or that one universe where everyone is evil and Spock has a goatee), or simply be a character who has been in an AGOG game before and remembers the experience.

One character per player. Any more than that will be taken on case-by-case basis, but if we believe that you’re able to handle it, we’ll allow it. Try and stick with two maximum to start with, though, even if we believe you could handle three or four.

Duos are allowed, but we’ll taking it on a case-by-case basis. In the past, “duo” has meant characters such as Jak and Daxter, where only one is combat-effective and the other just serves as someone to bounce off of, personality-wise. If you feel like your character’s personality works best when they have their constant partner around, but both are combat-capable (for example, Grif and Simmons from Red Vs Blue work best as a double act), send the pair at us and we’ll discuss it.

We’d also like to keep powerlevels at a reasonable standard, but anything can be nerfed. Even if you think your character is too powerful, send them our way and we’ll discuss it. Rule of thumb, though: if your character can cause or fix natural disasters single-handedly in a short length of time, expect some nerfs.

Gameplay Rules:

No real specific rules, but keep to general R Ping etiquette. No ghosting (simply ignoring any attacks sent your character’s way); no autohitting (whether your character’s attack lands is up to the other player, not you); no taking control of other people’s characters, etc. Of course, this being etiquette and not laws, you can make breaches if they’re discussed with the other player beforehand.

The only real rule is that GM rulings are final, and must be obeyed, though if you have objections these rulings can be politely discussed.

And of course, please obey all Forum Rules, especially those relating specifically to the RP Forums.
Once you’re done here, head on over to the Discussion Thread (Don’t try and read it all, we prefer our players alive) and the actual game thread.

Your G Ms (Makaioh, Meanken, wikkit and Katarsus) hope you enjoy your time playing in A Game of Gods: Renaissance.

I'm gonna be honest, guys: having thought about it, I'm not sure I want to allow second characters in Renaisance just yet. It's a pretty damn big group already.

And Grey, this would be your sixth character across the three games, not counting the Naruclones. Dontcha think that's a bit much?

They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!

Yeah, I'll admit it's getting a bit much. I got a wee bit too excited and carried away there so I'll withdraw that signup I guess.

Hey all, a quick GM post announcement from your newest overlord in charge of management. We'll be accepting second characters over in Renaissance so if you have a hankering for a second PC, then by all means go on ahead and post them here.

Also I guess I'll be switching Naruko out for someone else for a variety of reasons, the biggest one being she'll be a huge pain to write for if I want to be both in-character and G Ming the game.

  • Name: Jeda Roxford
  • Age: 30
  • Appearance: "Carry a great weapon to fight great evil."
  • Universe: Dungeon Fighter Online
  • Personality: A steadfast and righteous man who burns with anger when encountering evil, Jeda is someone who wants to do good for the world... often by bashing in evil's face with a large weapon or even his own fists. Believing that violence is necessary to combat the depravity of villains and monsters, Jeda ascribes somewhat to the school of "might makes right", something he has in spades. That said, for all his religious inclinations, the Priest sometimes questions why God would let horrible things happen and why certain events have gone on far longer than they should have. Though he looks grim and stern most of the time, the holy man is actually extremely empathetic to others and will often try to help others in their time of need. Surprisingly malleable and will not judge demon-tainted individuals preemptively if they are shown to be good at heart. He tends to ham things up in battle with his battle shouts and can surprisingly get hot-blooded in the heat of the moment.
  • Backstory: Jeda is a member of the Priest Order who had trained in the Lemedia Basilica Cathedral in order to fight the Imposters, warped and tainted demonic beings spread by the corrupting touch of the Twelfth Apostle, Ozma of Chaos. It was due to this being that a great deal of mankind suddenly went berserk and slaughtered one another, something that the Priests wish to prevent at all cost. In response to the depravity and slaughter that the demi-god was committing, the Order has sent out rigorously trained individuals to strike down the source of woe and agony gnawing at Arad. Jeda is but one of said Priests that had trained for his day to come, leaving on a journey to help out the helpless and slay monsters. After a long journey of venturing in brutal dungeons, the tempered man finally managed to slay Ozma in a great battle along with his comrades. Still, the battle itself had severely shaken him due to several revelations concerning Arad, the Apostles, and even the creator of his own Priest Order, Mikhael of the Holy Eye. Still, even with all of this, the devout man continued to adventure and do God's work for the betterment of others. He's also unexpectedly goofy once you get along well enough for him to let down his persona as God's Agent, in which case you'll find an extremely eccentric individual.
  • Powers/Abilities/Equipment: Jeda has trained a long time to get good at what he does, and what he does is God's work. His body is extremely robust and strong, overflowing with endurance and holiness. The man has such great physical strength that he could easily endure long journeys while shouldering the great weight of both armor and weapons that all such Saint wears, namely magically reinforced plate mail, magic enhancing rosary, and a giant cross shaped bludgeon as tall as his own height. His strength is so great he can punch regularly sized humans across a large room with ease, fling large logs with one hand, and slam his weapon into the ground with enough of an impact to cause strong localized tremors. His defense is incredible as well, considering both tools and his own powerful body would make it easy for him to use his own frame as a giant shield. Speed however is Jeda's greatest weakness, for his choice of combat style leaves him heavily burdened and slower than most when he is carrying the cross on his back. Putting down his cross lets him move significantly quicker and by that point in time, he can pummel enemies with punches way faster than his size would suggest at the cost of overall defense and power.
    • Despite Jeda's bear like strength, his real specialties focus on being an incredible supporter. His holy magic is geared towards drastically improving survival of all team-mates by having dozens of healing spells that can perform along great ranges- anywhere from repairing minor scrapes to dispelling poison/miasma/hallucinations to regenerating large chunks of missing flesh. Great as his clerical power is though, Jeda is not at the level where he can regenerate organs that have been pulped or regrow severed limbs, though he can reattach them as long as the cut is clean enough and said limb is either on ice or put close to where it should be as soon as possible.
    • The other half of his school relies greatly on shields and buffing, asking the very Heavens to bestow upon his comrades their blessings. Usually this would mean either they have a localized holy barrier surrounding them in a person-sized dome/reflective rectangle that tanks a certain amount of damage while at the same time letting their own attacks freely leave said bubble or in the case of buffing, become stronger physically/able to discharge more magic at once while paying the regular price/enchanting weapons to be able to tear through more defensible objects. The more magic Jeda pours into his blessings and shields, the stronger and higher level they become.
    • Offensive spells are also something Jeda knows, most of it geared towards smiting evil but they can also be used to punish the wicked of non-demonic/ghostly origin. Due to all of such magics being Holy in nature, they deal quite a bit of extra damage to things such as undead, ghosts, demons, and eldritch beings. Usually his attack magics are some form of light either turned solid like a Light Spear that is thrown at high armor piercing speeds, creating giant hammers of hard light to smash things to a literal pulp, or used more creatively like the Flash Shrapnel which takes the form of a moving light orb that does like its name implies and becomes both a stun and a fragmentation grenade He can even use shields offensively by creating a large solid light wall (ten feet high by ten feet wide) to slowly move forward to rebound enemies or do it better and summon two at once to crush the target in between. Other fun stuff Jeda can pull out are crystals that can shoot out a hail of intense lasers, an enchantment that lets the target strong electrical currents into the enemy when they're either struck or strike out with their own attacks, gain large angel wings and the temporary ability to fly while being drastically empowered via Ascension, or even summon a literal weapon of god in the form of a giant double-headed golden warhammer that grants him god-given might both physical and magical while evolving all attack techniques. Ascension and the Jupiter Hammer can only be used once a day.
  • Differences From Canon: I'm gonna be combining multiple interpretations of the Priest into one composite being due in part to DFO being an MMO and also because of the multiversal shenanigans where he runs around in distinct future alternate paths with different histories.

Right, I'll be taking this one. The tremors are gonna be nerfed down to 10 feet max range and, you know, keep in mind it'll effect allies in range as well.

Otherwise, basic stuff, stronger attacks should use more mana, don't be spamming massively powerful abilities one after another. Should also keep in mind the "Cooldown" effect as well to prevent chain spamming. Also as a counterpoint to the "Light hurts dark" thing, I also suggest that in the event he faces any holy enemies, that his magic skills are less effective on them.

@Meanken: Yeah, I'll agree to the nerfs since they're all things I've expected and thus was willing to do anyways.

@nman: After a round of GM talk, we're okay with Bastion 47 and thus would like to extend our acceptance of him into the game.

  • Name: Seija Kijin
  • Age: 47
  • Appearance: Looks like this, but nowadays dresses more like this. Even when trying to avoid suspicion, she can't help but wear flashy clothing.
  • Universe: Touhou Project
  • Personality: Impish, irreverent, duplicitous, flamboyant and always trying to make others miserable for her own enjoyment. Like any member of her species, she hates being loved and loves being hated, which certainly confuses a lot of people and generally makes her not a fun person to be around. She's certainly able to act like a normal person, and doesn't necessarily act like an asshole to everyone she meets at first glance, but she's going to at some point in the future. A good amount of the time, her transgressions are just light inconveniences and mild pranks, but occasionally they become much more serious. As of late, her successful crime spree and dodging the long arm of the law has gone to her head even more than usual. She's now convinced that she is some kind of great, untouchable paragon to all the hated people in the world, re-writing the laws of reality to make sure that she'll never face retribution for her crimes. She's not entirely absorbed in her delusions of grandeur, but she's close.
  • Backstory: Seija, being the incorrigible jerk she is, decided to begin a lengthy crime spree of stealing people's junk and running around flaunting it. After ten days of evading the impossible spell cards of the rest of the population of Gensokyo, Seija briefly considered herself the victor. However, they didn't stop. They started coming back, first alone, then in pairs, then in groups. Even with her uncanny dodging, she was being worn down from these constant games of cat and mouse and had to come up with an ingenious solution. This ended up with her deciding to simply leave Gensokyo.
    • Not the easiest task in the world, considering the impenetrable barrier keeping everyone in their place, unless you're able to coerce a tiny midget with a reality altering artifact to break it apart temporarily. Now, beforehand she had managed to just piss people off by stealing their stuff, defacing shrines and temples, kicking dogs and Kyouko for no reason and being an all-around cur. This action, to break open the barrier, was considered the singular most grave offense possible in all of Gensokyo. The willing and able-bodied women of the land stopped treating her as a simple criminal and more like the most hated single person in all of her world...which is a fact that Seija absolutely loved.
      • Now trying to move incognito through the modern world, the ever-persistent pursuers are desperately trying to stop Seija from blowing their collective cover while also maintaining theirs. Seija herself has all intentions to mess things up just to piss them off further, but is currently enjoying the new sights and sounds of modern-day Japan...and occasionally bothering random passerby for shits and giggles. Such is the daily life of Seija.
  • Powers/Equipment:
    • Reversal: Seija can flip things over. With merely a thought, things can be levitated in the air and have their orientations changed in a number of ways. While the effect is very quick, the effort expended changes with what's being flipped. A piece of paper could be flipped in her sleep, to land a human on his head takes effort, and lifting the high end of her capabilities (the average station wagon) is plain tiring. She can't move objects with this levitation, but she can keep them suspended in air.
    • Amanojaku Physiology: A little stronger, tougher and more spry than a human. She's going to react to bullets in the same way you or I would, but she's more resistant to pain and her body a little more resistant to blows. Has minor regenerative abilities, where an average wound would take a day or two to heal instead of weeks.
    • Flight: She can fly, and scientists from our foundation are declaring her average velocity to be in the rough, very touhou-ey ballpark of "not the fastest". However, she is extremely good at dodging things in midair. Actual bullets will still probably hit her if aimed right, but arrows, bodily strikes or other slow projectiles are simple enough to avoid.
    • Nimble Fabric: A checkered purple blanket, surprisingly soft. More importantly, by placing herself behind it or wrapping it around her body she can temporarily vanish from existence. Even she isn't aware of where she ends up. She can only disappear for, at most, around 10 seconds at any given time. It's supernaturally resistant to wear and tear, still as comforting as ever, but since it's the last of her stolen artifacts to not have been forcibly reclaimed she never lets it out of her sight. Often worn like a cape for this reason, if not folded and stuffed into a pocket.
  • Differences from Canon: The events of Seija's side game, Impossible Spell Card, leave the ending entirely vague. The ending here is defined, in that she continued trying to fuck with people for a while before going even grander in her schemes, beginning to think a little too high of herself in the process.

  • Name: Real name : Mary Bromfield/ Mary Marvel.
  • Alternate to: Black Adam and Mary Marvel.
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 17
  • Universe: D.C. Comics
  • Appearance:

Powered form :here with her black suit!

And as a civilian: like this (full body) ) and A closeup of her too

  • Mary is a tall, yet slender goth girl. She wears, almost exclusively, black clothing and she also uses a dark makeup that contrasts with her pale skin. She has two piercings on her eyebrows, and one in her tongue.
  • In her superpowered persona, her hair grows even longer, and while she retains her slender figure, her muscles get noticeable bigger, she looks more athletic and she grows slightly in size.
  • Personality:

While she tries to have an image of being a selfish jerk, this is, in part, just a façade to avoid being hurt and betrayed. She is somewhat pessimistic and cynical. As a big flaw of hers is that she is easily influenced. Deep inside, a very small part of her, still clings to old-fashioned hope and idealism, even if she wouldn't admit it.

She is a rebel with a sailor's mouth. She despises authority, and as such, she plays by her own rules. She is not above lying or stealing. But she will hardly do evil ( without a pragmatic reason). She won't hesitate to kill, if necessary. But she isn't a murderer.

She is an introvert, shy and very slow to fully give you her. Although she does express sorrow from time to time she is not wangsty. She just has seen the worst the world has to offer. She is extremely loyal to those few she considers her friend. But she is currently friendless and lonely.

  • Powers: She has the same powers as Black Adam. When She says the magic word "Shazam," she transforms into her powered form. “ A slightly taller, buffer, and more powerful version of version of herself. With it, she is granted the following powers derived from ancient Egyptian gods:
    • Stamina of Shu: Mary can withstand and survive extreme physical assaults. Additionally, she does not need to eat, sleep, or breathe and can survive unaided in space. My Nerf: She is bulletproof at least an extremely though. However, enough physical trauma can cancel her transformation, leaving her mortal and as vulnerable as any woman her age would be.
  • ***Only her mortal half ages.
  • **Swiftness of Heru: This power gives her super speed. She is at least faster than any car.
  • The strength of Amon: Basically she would be strong enough to lift a car. My Nerf: She would be as-as strong as Starfire from the cartoon and ergo much more weaker than comic's Black Adam.
  • **The wisdom of Zehuti: She has access to vasts level of scholarly knowledge, and this makes her able to know multiple languages and in general be much smarter. My Nerf: This mostly means that I'll play her being smarter and knowledgeable than a poor student, as she is, would.
  • **The power of Aton: This giver her the power fly, fuels the magic lightning bolt that transforms her, and provides magical resistance against a massive amount of magic spells and attacks. Like the new 52 Black Adam, She can also shoot lightning from her hands as an offensive skill. This would be comparable to Korra's similar skill with fire-bending.
    • The courage of Mehen. This one is mainly psychological and spiritual. This gives her inner strength, willpower, discipline and fighting skills.
  • Abilities:
    • She has no issue killing.
    • Knows how to fight in a "fight dirty to survive in the streets" kind of way.
    • She can be selfish, and uncaring for those outside her circle of trust.
Equipment
  • A, probably stolen, iPhone.
  • Backstory:

Even the most optimistic would have to question Shazam's sanity when the wizard chose goth-teenager, with a dark and troubled past, as his first champion. A runaway surviving in the streets for some time; joining gangs and stealing to survive. A "trouble child" and a "rebel teenager."

Perhaps he did saw some good on her. Or maybe Shazam just wanted a chance to redeem a lost soul.

The fact that she doesn't like to be controlled and that she has refused other imposing her a destiny she didn't ask means that she hasn't said the Magic word that would give her, her powers—yet.

  • Differences from canon:
    • Premise: What if Mary Marvel was a rebel goth teen instead of a goody-two-shoes nice girl?
    • She takes Black Adam's place as the first champion. But she is from modern-day America.
    • The backstory changed completely and in turn this change who she is. Unlike the original, she doesn't come from a nice wealthy family nor she was rescued by a nice robot in an orphanage. Nobody saved from having no family or people abusing her. She is still an orphan but life hasn't been nice to her. Her heart has been hardened as she has needed to be "though to survive" but maybe there is still some good in her.
    • Mary hasn't transformed so far due because she wants to prove she doesn't need anyone's help or pity. This won't last.
    • Unlike Mary She has a Sailor Mouth and she is not PC at all. Like Adam she is pragmatic, and she can have a very personal sense of justice.
    • Canon Mary is a cinnamon bun, old-fashioned nice girl. She is the opposite here as a rebel teenager.

Tl;dr

I'm thinking she would be closer in power to cartoon starfire than comic's Black Adam. That guys is way too Op for this game so I already nerfed him—I think.

The abilities are fine for the most part. The only thing that me and the other G Ms have a problem with is the fact that this is basically an Original Character armed with a canonical character's abilities considering the original Black Adam was previously alive. If you would tweak your words a bit so that the girl took the original BA's place, then you hsould be good to go.

Hey there I just altered her backstory( so she is now an alternate Black Adam) and I also changed the ilustrative picture for her Civilian identity.

What do you think?

Dropping Yi for this fellow over here.

  • Name: Foxtrot 813
  • Age: 4 (Physically 20)
  • Appearance: "Die, mother fucker!"
  • Universe: F.E.A.R
  • Personality: During combat, Foxtrot 813 is brutal, relentless and swears so much like his fellow Replicas that it makes you wonder why Armacham programmed the Replicas with a severe case of sailor's mouth. Out of combat, it's another story. Just like his fellow Replica, which can only act like actual human beings in combat, he is stoic, professional, his interactions with non-Replicas is very awkward, often bordering on the uncanny valley, though he is attempting to understand more how a normal person interacts, and has actual thoughts about what his future would hold.
  • Backstory: Foxtrot 813 is a Variant VII Replica Soldier, the Replica Soldiers are cloned soldiers designed by Armacham Technology Corporation under the auspices of Project Perseus. The Replicas were raised in response to a Department of Defense directive for Armacham to develop genetically engineered super soldiers that could be telepathically controlled. Without a psychic commander to control them, the Replicas are stuck in a trancelike state. Foxtrot 813 was currently deactivated along with his fellow Variant VII Replicas, waiting for orders that never came.

    • Though for an unknown reason, Foxtrot 813 awoke from his stasis pod, yet he wasn't told to be awoken by a psychic commander, and he didn't received any orders in his head at all. Somehow, Foxtrot 813 managed to develop self awareness and a personality, and freeing himself from the need of being psychically controlled to be awake. Foxtrot 813 was last attempting to reach the Auburn Hospital in Fairport City to reach an extraction point of evacuation from the city, not only having to fight Variant VI Replica Forces who considered him a hostile due to being a rogue replica who developed self awareness, but also ATC forces, Nightcrawler Mercenarys and Alma's psychic apparitions.
  • Powers/Abilities/Equipment:
    • Heightened Reflexes: With the awakening of his personality and self-awareness, Foxtrot 813 somehow gained the ability to activate supernaturally fast reflexes and movement at will, which allows him to temporarily react and move 2 times faster than a normal human for 7 seconds, and it takes 1 minute of cool down before he can use the reflexes again. During the duration of the Reflexes, while Foxtrot 813 perceives the world in slow motion, to others he is moving and reacting at a fast pace.
    • Replica Soldier Armour: Compared to the Variant VI Replica Forces, which their armor mainly consisted of soft Kevlar, The Variant VII Replicas wore several varieties of prototype armor, mainly composed of hard ceramic and metallic plates, making it slight tougher than Kevlar. The helmet also has a built in HUD which tracked the Replica's vital sign, ammunition count and other things.
    • SHO Series-3 Combat Shotgun: The SHO Series-3 is a manually operated pump-action repeating explosive 10-gauge combat shotgun. It has an eight-round tubular magazine and smooth bore modified choke barrel. While the Series-3 has limited range and penetration and modest rate of fire, it is devastating at close range. Due to it's explosive shotgun shells, the results of shooting a unfortunate normal human being at point blank range would either result in dismemberment, cutting the victim in half or leaving nothing but a a cloud of red blood and gore behind.
    • Patten PK470 Assault Rifle: The Patten PK 470 is a gas operated, selective fire assault rifle that is celebrated for its ruggedness and dependability. It features an ACOG scope and 30-round magazine. It has superior range and excellent stopping power.
    • Andra FD-99 Submachine Gun: The Andra FD-99 is a lightweight, selective fire submachine gun (SMG) that fires from a closed bolt. The short barrel and folding stock make it ideal for close-quarters combat. It is a reliable, easily controlled weapon that fires a low recoil pistol cartridge. Comes equipped with a reflex sight and a high capacity magazine.
    • Differences From Canon:
    • The events of Perseus Mandate and Extraction Point are canon.
    • Foxtrot 813 gained self-awareness and a personality by himself, instead of Paxton Fettel controlling him and then possessing his body.
    • The Variant VII Replica Soldiers were never activated.

Hey there I saw two characters were allowed, so I would like to try this:

  • Name: Wonder Woman(title) / Ororo Munroe ( Real name)
  • Age: Young adult (in her 20s).
  • Alternate to: Wonder Woman and Storm (Amazon)
  • Appearance: like this and: this
  • Universe(s): D.C +Marvel comics (Amalgam universe). They merged briefly in a crossover event and it was official.
  • Personality:She has a conflict balancing her more restrained parts of her personality with the warrior she was taught to be. Ororo can be relaxed and enjoy the thrill of battle and the company of warriors. She was a strong sense of justice and honor. But she can also have very deep moments of introversion and periods where she wants to be alone and meditate. She is very loyal and heroic at her core.

  • Backstory:

The first Wonder Woman was the queen of the Amazons Hyppolita, the queen of the amazons. One day in a mission in Africa, a young orphan called Ororo tried to steal from her money to feed her village. Impressed by her good heart Queen Hypolita adopted her and brought her to paradise Island.

Little did she know that she would manifest her mutant powers later on. The amazons were secluded from the world and were unaware of the mutations of the outside world, as such the amazons believed her to be an olympian goddess, daughter of Zeus. But she was a mutant.

Zeus, impressed by her lightning, adopted her as his daughter and blessed her with the powers of a demigoddess. He did so by giving her a part of his divine blood.

The day came were the world of man and the world of women would need to reunite for a crisis was coming. Ororo was the only one that had lived in both words. A tournament was held and she won the right to become their ambassador as Wonder Woman.

  • Powers/Abilities
    • Combat Experience: She is a master in hand to hand combat and all forms of ancient weapons.
    • Super strength: Strong enough to carry a car, at least.
    • Limited invulnerability: Although, she is very resistant to blunt damage, she is much more vulnerable to piercing weapons (likes bullets), hence the reason she needs to block bullets with her bracelets.
    • Super Reflexes: Fast enough to deflect bullets with her bracelets.
    • Enhanced speed: fast enough to keep up the pace of a sports car by running (with extreme effort).
    • Flight: As fast as the wind.
    • Weather manipulation: When Wonder Woman controls the weather her pupils turn white. She can control the wind, clouds, etc
      • Derived from this she can generate and control lightning.
      • Also she is resistant to extreme temperatures. Meaning she wouldn’t need a coat or sweat a dessert.
      • Also derived is the ability to sense changes in the weather.
    • Equipment:
    • Lasso of truth: It is unbreakable and whoever touches it is forced to always tell the truth without being able to refuse to answer.
    • Bracelets of submission. Wonder Woman is able to use her bracelets as an unbreakable to shield herself from damage: MY NERF: Unlike the movies, she can’t protect herself from explosions. As another weakness it can only protect the small area they cover.
    • An magic sword: My nerf: Its metal is as hard and as resistant as a diamond.
  • Weaknesses:
    • She suffers from claustrophobia. If forced to be in a very tight space she might start to lose control of herself or even panic to the point of being helpless and unable to do anything
    • Her skin is more vulnerable to piercing weapons than every other form of attack.
  • Differences From Canon:
    • Premise: What if Storm was Wonder Woman?
    • There was never a Diana Prince.
    • Comes from an universe were DC and Marvel characters co exist and in some cases are mixed.
    • Instead of being recruited by Xavier to the Xmen, she was recruited by Queen Hypolyta of the amazons.
    • She is both a mutant and a demigoddess.
    • Her personality is a blend of Storm's reserved personality and Diana's warrior self.

Just a quick thing. I'm doing a purely cosmetic retcon on my character's superpowered form. It hasn't made an appearance so I don't think it contradicts anything established so far.

I updated the sheet for reference sake.

So I've been working at this sheet the whole of today as a consideration for a second character. I'd like to bring her in whenever it's most convenient for the GM's, provided she is approved.

  • Name: Ragna the Bloodedge
  • Age: Mid 20's
  • Appearance: Hmm, something ain't right here...
  • Universe: Blaz Blue
  • Personality:
    • Ragna's a rough type, with little time to spare for anyone else's problems. She is an extremely focused and single-minded person more often than not. However, her moral compass and sense of empathy, along with her general naïveté show that she is really a kind person. If you present her with your problems, she'll empathize, as well as apologize and say that she has her own problems to take care of. You've got to really latch onto her leg, beg and plead, or alternatively just get under her skin to get her involved with your crises. Or, alternatively, get her wrapped up in a multidimensional scheme to hunt down a woman named Rook with no way out.
    • If you're a decent enough person, Ragna will treat you with the kindness you deserve. However, she also bears serious anger management issues, which are not helped by the Azure Grimoire. If you're any number of people who've dealt some form of injustice that she remembers, expect no mercy. If Ragna loses sight of her goals and focuses solely on her rage, she could very well become the monster many think of her as.
  • Backstory:
    • There were once three sisters, Ragna, Jun and Saya. Having lived the first years of their life in a mysterious laboratory, they were rescued by the cat beastkin Jubei and put into the care of a young priest in his church. For a while, life was good. Until, of course, the church had suddenly begun burning to the ground. Ragna, wandering amongst the flames, found the burnt corpse of the priest, then came face to face with a man in a jet black suit carrying her unconscious sisters. His idea of saying hello was cutting off her right arm.
    • As Ragna writhed and bled, the man known as Yuuki Terumi introduced himself, and whispered this into Ragna's ear; 'remember me'. The next thing she remembered before passing out was a tingling sensation in her empty arm socket.
    • Upon waking, her wounds were being treated by Jubei. Yuuki Terumi, Jun and Saya were nowhere to be found. And strangest of all, Ragna still had her right arm, but it was now colored a pure black. Jubei explained that her new arm was the Azure Grimoire, a legendary object of desire for many, and that though it should never be considered her power, it would grant her the opportunity to move forward. She continued to explain that Jun and Saya were still alive, and that whatever Terumi's plans were, the two siblings were at the center of what was to be a deadly war of the gods. The old hag of a cat had leaned forward to Ragna in her bed as she treated her burns, looked her in the eyes, and asked her what she was going to do next.
    • A decade and a half later, after having trained in the ways of the warrior under Jubei, Ragna set out with the sword the cat had gifted to her, and vowed to find Yuuki Terumi, get revenge and rescue her sisters. Her first stop was the Hierarchical City of Akitsu, where Saya was last seen. Upon discovering a series of weaponized clones of her youngest sister, her vengeance has now extended to the world government responsible for them, the NOL.
  • Powers:
    • Ars Magus adeptness: With the Azure Grimoire, Ragna was granted a startlingly high proficiency with Ars Magus, the functional magic of the Blaz Blue world (though actual magic and sorcery are different things, and far more ancient and powerful). Ars Magus comes in various forms, but the only two that Ragna keeps in handy are Barrier, a magic shield that forces her to stay put, and Burst, an all-encompassing explosion of energy that does no actual damage, but is meant to blow enemies back.
    • The Azure Grimoire: Much less a fashion accessory and more as much a part of Ragna as her other limbs; the Azure Grimoire is an artifact of legend, but not one Ragna can use to its fullest potential yet. It grants Ragna the use of dark flames in her attacks. These streaks of darkness, upon hitting their enemy, will damage their soul as well as their body, and the severed portion of their soul will be absorbed by the Grimoire and used to heal Ragna's wounds. She can also kick the Grimoire into overdrive, increasing the potency of her soul eating abilities, but at the expense of any of her personality traits not related to anger. Overusing the Grimoire can result in her becoming naught but a big, blind ball of unbridled rage. As her Azure Grimoire is really a counterfeit made from the remains of an apocalyptic creature that knew only destroying whatever was in its way, this is a given.
  • Equipment:
    • Blood-scythe: Ragna's sword. A massive slab of sharpened steel, it can also unfold its blade to take the form of either a spear or a scythe, hence the name.
  • Abilities:
    • One hell of a cook: Jubei taught Ragna how to cook, and she's pretty good at it. She particularly enjoys cooking meat dishes. She even makes a great pot of tea.
    • Dry wit: Expect Ragna to regularly comment on the ridiculousness of the situation around her.
    • Bad luck: You can also expect Ragna to regularly get the short end of the stick, which often leads to the above.
  • Differences from Canon:
    • The obvious: more than a handful of Blaz Blue characters get a genderbend.
    • Due to me feeling the above alone was insufficient, there were also changes made to the canon lore and cosmology of the universe, particularly regarding the Sankishin: Amaterasu, Susanoo and Tsukuyomi. This delves into spoiler territory; so it will not be listed here.
    • Ragna is given the Azure Grimoire by Yuuki Terumi rather than Rachel Alucard. The reasons delve into spoiler territory. See a pattern here?
    • Ragna and Rachel Alucard (still female) get along somewhat better. They can even outright be called friends. The vampire has managed to teach Ragna some additional skills as a result, such as the aforementioned tea making.
    • Ragna is not as cynical as her male counterpart. In fact, she's even a little religious. She is, however, every bit as short-tempered and impulsive as her male counterpart.

@Latverian Badger: Accepted on the conditions the soul stealing is directly proportional to physical injuries being dealt, with scratch damage not doing all that much and so forth.

And now going for my second character.

  • Name: Han Jee-Hyun
  • Age: 18
  • Appearance: "I didn't ask to be a real life game character you know."
  • Universe: The Gamer
  • Personality: Han Jee-Hyun is an energetic young woman who wears her emotions on her sleeves most of the time. Generally friendly to people she isn't on bad terms with, she tends to be a ray of sunshine that goes around, often-times annoying people by continuing to compare everything to video games. Though rather intelligent, she can and will often times forget more obvious things due to being somewhat dense in some areas.
  • Backstory: Han Jee-Hyun used to be an ordinary high school student simply studying for exams and playing boatloads of games daily before she awakened to a supernatural ability- The Gamer. Drawn into the world of the Abyss, the supernatural underside and mirror to the human world, Han Jee-Hyun had to go through a couple of adventures to ensure she would be able to become strong enough to protect herself from the dangers of the rather Darwinist undersociety she finds herself in. Luckily due to her rather peculiar abilities, she is quickly becoming a rising star and thus established some rather nice connections with the bigger fish in the ocean.
  • '''Powers/Abilities/Equipment: Han Jee-Hyun's is a Natural Ability User with a specialized skillset given by Gaia herself, the gestalt consciousness of the planet Earth. In her particular case, she was granted The Gamer, which essentially turns her into a living video game character. This means she has a health and mana bar that only she can see, an inventory and stat screen, and various other "game options" such as the party system or titles. She has the ability to heal herself from any injury that isn't outright missing body parts by going to sleep for a full eight hours, can heal herself in battle by consuming edible substances (though potions work a lot better than bread and the likes), and she has an inventory system that acts as a Bag of Holding which can stack like items in one slot depending on their size (small stuff gets more stack numbers than bigger stuff).
    • Her main method of getting stronger is essentially grinding for Level Ups (where she has to kill literally hundreds to thousands of small fries or one boss) to level up, or repeatedly perform an action over and over again to grind her stats (being hit repeatedly a hundred times will raise her endurance by one). Sometimes monsters will drop items based off of their appearance that she can pick up, even if they are illusions (ghosts drop ectoplasm instead of just fading away for instance) or a turtle drops its shell refashioned into a shield. Her last main function is the Skill System, where she can learn various passive or active skills by performing special actions such as smashing a bat on a tree to learn Blunt Weapon Proficiency as a passive and Smash as an active, or outright absorbing records such as books or scrolls that detail how to perform magic spells or martial arts to learn the magic ability (though it can't be theories and actually has to be rather detailed). So far Jee-Hyun is in the level thirties and her job is basically "sorceror" with a few melee abilities thrown in just in case opponents come close, her physical ability when not buffed by mana are above average baseline humans by a small margin and her magical power rather large for her age due to her dumping most of her stats into Intelligence.
    • Her main techniques are based off of unarmed/melee combat that lets her briefly power up physical prowess via a special martial arts dubbed the Chunbomoon School Techniques through specialized breathing and circulation of mana inside of her as well as basic magic techniques without an elemental affinity that allows her to shape said magic into the forms of arrows, rope, exploding balls, barriers, etc. Other techniques picked up so far are Telekinesis (which only work on nonorganic matter less than five kilos), Life Drain which she filched off a zombie (which leaves her completely defenseless and immobile due to the concentration to perform the technique so she can only use it on immobilized enemies or plants), and a few passives that make her magically oriented and specialized for slinging spells from the rear.
    • She has a summoning contract with Gnome, the low tier earth elemental which takes the form of a small girl in yellow made out of the earth itself which also lets her do things like dig holes super fast, raise earth spikes, or throw high speed rock balls. A separate technique lets her create up to three golems out of dirt and stones to act as sturdy and strong but also really slow tanks to take damage for her.
    • The Gamer also learned a few support skills such as Remove Curse, Yunhon Soul Recovery (basic healing spell), Crafting (which lets her fashion items into things like swords or armor), and various things that help her spellcast such as Magic Control and Mana Regeneration. Her best passive is Gamer's Mind, which allows her to not be psychologically effected too long by things such as illusions, intimidation, and mind control while Gamer's Body lets her recover from grievous injuries by resting in a bed. Her Undead Executioner title grants her special bonuses when fighting against ghosts and the undead.
    • Her inventory system has various food related items, water bottles, towels, clothes, martial arts weapons such as swords, spears, and bows from Chunbomoon, and her magical crystal tipped wizard staff that helps her power up her magical attacks. On her ear is an earring that helps replenishes her mana reserves 1.5 times faster than average.
    • By partying with other people, she can let people use the game functions such as Instant Messaging and Inventory as long as she doesn't disband the party, and they can also learn skill through absorbing books (though people without magic obviously won't be able to use magic, they can consume a driver's manual to learn how to drive cars good). Enemies they defeat will also have a slight chance of dropping loot and they can also look at a minimap to determine their relative location that'll automatically fill in as they explore their surroundings.
  • Differences From Canon: Han Jee-Hyun is a girl instead of the canonically male Han Jee-Han and though she's similar in some regards, she's more willful and less passive than her laid-back male counterpart, preferring to take action immediately rather than waffling about. Also the entire world is genderbent too I guess.

FallenLegend Lucha Libre goddess from Navel Of The Moon. Since: Oct, 2010
Lucha Libre goddess
#223: Nov 2nd 2016 at 1:26:22 AM

Identity:

  • Name: Morrigan Aensland.
  • Age: 300+
  • Species: Demon/Succubus.
  • Appearance: There she is! .
  • Universe: Capcom/Darkstalkers fighting games.
Personality:
  • Morrigan is a very approachable and extroverted woman that loves to seek thrills, and hates being bored. She is friendly and approachable.
  • She is incredibly flirty, seductive, vain and will probably have a crush with anything that moves.
  • As a difference from canon she has a conflict between trying to be a better person and her selfish nature. This means that she could do something evil and selfish or selfless and heroic without notice.
  • She is catholic, but she sins a lot ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).
Powers/Abilities/Equipment
  • Eternal Youth: She doesn't age regardless of the passing of time.
  • Enhanced healing:. Out of combat, she can heal much faster than any human, reducing what would take day to heal in hours and hours in minutes.
  • Enhanced durability and stamina: She is tougher than a human in that she can take a lot more hits from say a gun, but they do hurt her and could eventually put her down. She is a lot stronger than any baseline human and she could break a rock with a punch and dent metal.nerf:Handguns to bounce off of her but a long enough machine gun salvo will really hurt her a lot, same with anti-material/shotgun/sniper rifles if she's not using her wing shield
  • Flight With the aid of her bat wings. She can boost herself to go even faster when her wings acquire a "rocket-like" form.
  • Divine Level of beauty: She is so beautiful that it's practically a superpower.
  • Wing shapeshifting: She can transform her wings into: Spikes, tentacles, blades and a drill. She can user her wings as a shields to cover herself, she can't attack while she does this, but they can protect her from bullets and other attacks. Powerful attacks will still damage her, but the wings would reduce the damage, like any shield does.
    • The wings can separate from her body and transform into bats.
  • Bats: She is able to conjure and control bats.
  • Minor Shapeshifting : She can hide her batwings to appear more human. She can also turn her clothing into whatever she wants. The change is mostly cosmetic so she isn't going to create power armor anytime soon.
    • She can turn into a cloud of bats for a limited time.
  • Fighting skills: Due to her years of experience, she is an expert martial artist, to the point she can match Chun li in raw skill and giver her a run for her money as the "world's strongest woman."
    • She can use her hair to hit enemies like a punch
  • Soul fist: She can throw an energy attack that can be charged for more damage. Similar to Ryu's Hadoken.
  • Illusion copy: She can create a copy of herself for a limited time.
  • Special attacks: Nerf: Similar to Foxrot they need a cool down period or several hits (given or received) in a fight to be able to use them making her unable to spam them and very hard to use them twice in a row She can only use one of these before needing to recharge.
    • Finisher shower:Her wings turn into a gian canon that she can use to shoot a continuous stream of laser.
    • Missile hypercombo: Missiles come from her wings to attack her opponents.Nerf : she can't use that particular move more than once an hour, using it too close to herself would engulf her in the explosion, and that after a hundred feet the accuracy of the things will drop like a rock.
    • Shadow Servant: Several shadows appear from the ground to make a single wave attack. (exception to the rule, being possible to do this attack twice in a row because this one is much weaker compared to the other ones)
    • Astral vision/eternal slumber. For a limited time, a copy of herself appears to help her deal a combo against her opponent.
Backstory:
  • The demon Belial, ruler of the demon world was proud that his daughter had grown so powerful( S+ class in fact). But she had become so arrogant and selfish that he decided to put her in a human body to teach her a lesson of humility. She would be cursed until the day she would mature enough to reclaim her place as princess and future ruler of the demons.

  • As a human Morrigan lost all her, memories, beauty and powers for a time. But she spent her time as "sister Morrigan" a devout and selfless catholic nun that served orphan children, sick people, missions in war torn countries and she even helped in the Salvation Army. Morrigan spent a lot of her time praying among other religious activities, becoming an exemplary nun.

  • One day "sister Morrigan", had to decide between helping sick children and keeping her vows or following a crush. Her crush had rejected her for being ugly before she could confess her love. But it didn't matter because she decided to stay as a nun.

  • She decided to help people and with this her curse was broken, returning her to her original form. Although she is free once again to do as she likes, she is keen in making up for all the lost time, but her old religious life changed her forever.

Differences From Canon:

  • The biggest difference is that she spent a large amount of time as a human nun. Similar to Thor being in the body of a human medic with no powers and no memories.
  • She doesn't need to kill a human to survive. But she does need constant "stimuli" to survive. She is still a sucubbus after all.
  • Hails from England instead of Scotland.
  • Is, ironically, catholic. But she is not above ignoring or "forgetting" said religion's rules.
  • She is still the embodiment of the sin of lust
  • Has a conflict between her selfish nature and her selfless vows.

Oh man. Rock is SOOOOOOOO gonna be confused when he meets this version of Morrigan.

To clarify: Morrigan in the universe Rock came from is almost essentially the same as from the games, but she's not only one of the founding members of the Justice League, but she's also one of Superman's oldest and closest friends, practically a surrogate aunt. Who watched him grow up ever since the Kryptonian landed on Earth and very nearly adopted him herself.

DAMMIT MARK, STOP HOTTING HELPY!!
