Episode 10, where the Harekaze crew celebrates after crossing the Equator.
"Great Sailing Era"? Shouldn't the proper term be the "Age of Sail"? (Or "The Golden Age of Sail" if you want it to be more grandiose.) Yarr...these 'orrible landlubbing subberrrs know nothing of nautical trrrivia... Perhaps Vivid-GJM's subs be usin' that exact term...
So if the Harekaze crew is a collection of oddballs, does that make Akeno..."Captain Oddball"?
(Reads the Musashi's possible heading...) Oh f**k...
Musashi's going to be sunk at the same spot where the real-world Musashi was sunk, but not before Akeno manages to rescue Moeka and her crew.
"Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow."...You call that a line crossing ceremony?
Needs more hot sauce.
"Yup. That tasted purple."The festival is fun and it shows a good ol' A Day in the Limelight as well.
Our Sonar Officer is more talented that what she is. Mei-chan is good at the comedy routine. The Navigation Girls show a good rapping~ And I feel sorry for the Kinesaki twin as she didn't get a boyfriend~

He's a jerk.. How could he find another girl so quickly..?
Akari & Georgette are best waifus..Ah~, what a refreshing calm before the storm. Team Harekaze had a lot of fun(after getting revved up.), some more character details, and Kuro finally releases her tension. Yup, Maron's a genius. And a great friend.
Oddballs? A reasonable deduction. After all, usually the team the main character's on is filled with awesome quirky people.
...With that in mind, considering how supercharged Tama was when she was infected with the virus compared to the members of the Spee... Heh, good thing Grand Rear Admiral Isoroku's on board.

I recall she said "before the training" meaning it was like almost a week or so. I guess to him, as he think that our poor cute girl rejected it (she was confuse and couldn't make an answer) and thus end up finding a new girl...
Still so sad.
Yeah I agreed that Maron did it right, she able to release Kuro-chan's stress by allowing her to "beat" up the Lucky Captain
Episode 11:
Welp, the whole WMG about Musashi getting sunk in the same place where the real-world Musashi got sunk is Jossed, as the ship heads straight for Tokyo instead of its initial projected course.
And Akeno picks one hell of a time to be indecisive, it takes the chief engineer and the vice-captain to snap her out of it.
The leader of the Blue Mermaids force closest to the Musashi looks and sounds a lot like Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke... I wouldn't discount Rie Tanaka being brought in as a Casting Gag, but as I've learned, a lot of seiyuu nowadays have become better at mimicking the voices of other, more well-known seiyuu...
Also, a Musashi crewmember looks similar to Isonami (at first glance, I thought she looked like Kitakami, but her side locks aren't tied).
"Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow."...Speaking of Musashi's crew...
I know that the bridge there is quite large, but where the hell did they get enough food and water to last for so long there? I think, it's been nearly a month since this whole mess with mind-controlling rodents began.

Kinda surprising that the Musashi did was ruse.
Yeah, one of the Bridge Girls in the Musashi looks like her indeed. I was surprise that Moeka isn't the only one who survived.
Anyways it seems that the Munetani mom is a former badass too.
Oho, so Moeka wasn't the only survivor.
Akeno fearing for her crew's safety, Mashiro being unsure of how to reassure her, the rest of the crew feeling discouraged at doing nothing while the Blumers were getting taken down by the Musashi one by one... A despair-inducing situation like this brought morale down without fail... However, just leave it to Maron to engineer a turning point to this crisis!
Little bit OOT, but do we have Strike Witches discussion thread in this site..?
So Moka and some of her crews are sealed themselves in the citadel..(still waiting for Vivid-GJM)
Akari & Georgette are best waifus..As far as I know, there's no Strike Witches thread. Might be worth asking a mod to see if it's permissible to create one.
The only resource you need for tropesTo my knowledge you don't need our permission to start a work thread.
"Yup. That tasted purple."And so the story of girls with cool ships is over...
Like someone up there had predicted, all saved ships - and more - came to help Harekaze out in the final battle. And they even were cool about it, even if our little destroyer ended up doing most of the work by herself again anyway.
P.S. All things considered, I'll actually be surprised if Mike isn't forced to pay bills for removing Harekaze from the dock: Harekaze actually sunk, almost as soon as everyone got ashore.

For me, this is the proper naval battle-themed anime..
Akari & Georgette are best waifus..Definitely is, in my books. In that link, there's a bit of a short section on the production challenges Hai-Furi experienced. If it's true, then that makes it a bit more impressive they were able to pull this off despite the difficulties...
The only resource you need for tropesOh, wow, the direction on the Mike/Moka reuniting scene...
Well, the episode as a whole was pretty great really. Only complaint is that I'd have liked a bit more of an epilogue
So, this was probably my favourite of the season. Good fun, with some surprisingly solid drama. Only real problem being that there's only so much you can do with warships
Girls in warplanes when?
Strike Witches already has that.
I'm amazed that the Harekaze managed to last that long...only sinking Titanic-style when all of the crew disembarked at the harbor. Reminds me of the Bluesmobile from The Blues Brothers, too.
Eh, pretty sure she can be refloated if the harbor waters aren't that deep.
"Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow."Strike Witches is cute girls as airplanes, rather than actually flying airplanes. Stratos-4 meanwhile has cute girls flying TSR 2 planes to shoot down comets.
Shiden Kai no Maki, anyone..?
Akari & Georgette are best waifus..Mio flat out flies a Zero or that sea plane I can't remember the name of after S2. So there is that.
Heh, I knew the Spee would make it. But I did not expect Inspector Furushou to join the party. A shame Mafuyu couldn't make it in time. In fact she never appeared when the rest of the Munetani Clan did! Darn...
Akeno's reunion with Moeka was totes sweet as expected.
Poor Harekaze. She took one for the team. But before she went under, she had to make sure the comrades who rode the seas with her made it home safely... Salute her! Is the harbour that deep? They could bring it up and repair it. Then again, the sea level has increased, so...
I thoroughly enjoyed this show. My only regret is that it never had a proper epilogue.

Maybe there's an OVA inbound
The only resource you need for tropes
Shown Their Work? Nice to see it though since it's an old nautical tradition.
