Is there a general amount of time allowed for between-chapter activities? You mentioned facilities so I figure that wasn't world fluff.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Yes; the next chapter won't start immediately after the previous one, so there's time for breaks/character introspection/subplots if I can think of any. For that matter, I'm also open to the idea of having the PCs split up and tackle more than one world at once past the first chapter. It looks like we've got a pretty big group.
Also, a question of my own: In the Sign Up thread I said that I'd start the RP a week after starting the discussion thread; this was to give people time to submit some last-minute signups or just work out what their plans were for the RP. However, I'm open it starting it sooner if everyone's itching to go. Going off that, should I start it sooner?
Icon by Civvi the Civilian!I'm not really in a rush to start this thing, plus I kinda want to see how much discussion and stuff develops before the actual RP begins.
Might think of some ideas for possible worlds later, but don't really feel like doing it now.
Also, just to get this out of the way, how does everyone think we should organize our task groups and whatnot? Considering how big our group is, it's fairly likely we're each going to go our separate story routes. I think we should work out what everyone's combat role is and work out whose toolkits synergize with each other the most so we have an idea who should and should not be grouped together.
Well with Samson's speed and teleportation he would make a good scout & explorer. Plus the possibility of him lifting others up on ice platforms, he certainly covers Movement for a group. The majority of his attacks all have some range so he can easily fill a Sniper role in combat as well as a Hit & Run style.
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Me neither, I don't mind the wait. And it'll let me get other RP stuff off my plate first also.
As for my duo...who I just realized could also be called Mr. and Mrs. York... I have no idea what role they'd fill together, but Cecil will definitely try to fill The Medic role and try to shield those who don't have shields of their own. Zeta...I'm not sure either, besides stating the obvious (close range shock troop soldier).
"You said you had a dream... That dream... Make it come true! ... If anyone can, it's you!" - N (shortened) Oh, and I'm a girl.I'd classify Jack as a close-range fighter with the potential of learning some mid-range attacks, depending on whether/how his abilities develop throughout the RP.

I'll try getting my character in tonight. Currently have a thunderstorm going on, so hoping my power doesn't go out again.
Irwin being a Mighty Glacier (well, at least in comparison to the speedier fighters in the group and his more dangerous weapons are powerful but slow) is probably going to make a good Tank and heavy hitter.
Ribbon meanwhile, is probably going to fill the roles of nuker and illusionist with the whole light manipulation deal.
Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.Stannum (Call him Stan, he'll hate you) is a Status Effect character, with some Non-superhuman DPS. I wonder if I should have him be above-average physically. I somehow forgot to mention such things in the midst of explaining the entire Curses of Purgatal system. I didn't want him to be too powerful, but that was before Pomo-tan was released.
Speaking of Pomo-tan, should we try to come up with ways to kill him? Who knows how easy it will be to be hated by him. Oh wait, infinite respawns... Well, I'm sure that our deaths by his hand would be slow and painful, so we should at least try to come up with ways to detain him and seperate him from his god-backpack.
Though maybe my character wouldn't be as scared of him as I am. The backpack has tons of supplies that only he can access, and it would be useful for carrying Curse crafting materials. And also, my character was raised by Dark Elves, so who knows how they would interact. Huh. The more I think about it, I want to improve my character sheet quite a bit. Maybe improve his backstory too. And all because of Pomo-tan's existence. Anyways, I doubt that I can change my character sheet now. It's probably too late.
Fun Fact: I came up with the "Unlurking Sentinel" name because I was intending to stop being a Lurker. I don't think it worked.Okay, a few thoughts on character lineup and whatnot.
Samson and Sheik both seem like they'd be good infiltrators as they both have decent mobility with their teleports. Ribbon's got that projection ability and Sun's got that transformation thing, which might also help with getting into places. Pomo-tan's got stealth too, but I'm not sure how useful it'll be with evading demons and enemies.
Jack might work well with Dr Emma Bremach due to machines and charging ability.
Amanda Shepard's probably gonna be the fight initiator based on her toolkit.
Stannum looks like he's built around locking down enemies and stuff.
Cecil is Medic.
Pomo-tan's more or less built around establishing area control by placing gnome mines all over the place. He can do other stuff, but he's kinda built for defending an area and knowing where the enemy is via gnome cameras.
Also gonna mention that, if the party does split up, putting Pomo-tan and Abigail in the same group is probably a bad idea.
: Wat?
Since the advanced class Trabesh is in SWTOR is a Sith Marauder, he would be the close-ranged melee Glass Cannon of the team.
And I'm fine with waiting for a while before the game starts.

-Spider Lizard Noises-I think improvements to the character sheet is okay as long as it is before your character appears in the RP and you show the changes to the GM.
Irwin isn't a big fan of revenge the damage one act caused, so he's probably not going to be a fan of Pomo-tan's vengefulness and the cheerful façade ain't going to work on the hunter either. Ribbon is likely going to share Irwin's feelings, although she is going to envy how well prepared Pomo-tan is!

Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.Well, I suppose Samson could also make a good Trapper (being able to manipulate his cyromancy so finely) and a Saboteur (being able to freeze something on the inside without breaking the outer layer). He can also be pretty sneaky if needed, and yeah- He could teleport past locked doors even. So certainly could pull the Infiltrator role off well.
Oh yeah, Justa Username, since Irwin can sense magic how would he read Samson's nature as a Homunculus?
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Irwin can't sense magic, he can only sense living things and emotions.
Ribbon would be able to pick up on it though, since Samson being right next to the jinni rat definitely be enough for her to know Samson is a Homunculus.
Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.I should probably mention this now as I didn't write a backstory for Jack (mainly because I'm not familiar with the story arc I set him in), but since we're talking about teams, it's worth mentioning that he's a convict, as the the more lawfully aligned members might take exception to him because of that.
Long story short, two muggers held Jack at gunpoint 2 years before the RP began, he fought back, accidentally killed the first mugger during the scuffle and got control of the gun, didn't see the 2nd mugger surrender due to adrenaline-induced panic, and shot him in the chest. Jack was arrested soon after and was given a sentence of 7 years for imperfect self-defense (1st mugger) and voluntary manslaughter (2nd mugger).
@Pomo-tan: Depending on how the murderous fluffball reacts to Jack's status as a convict, he's probably going to be pretty wary of Pomo-tan for a while.

Hope it isn't too forward of me to bring it up, what with not being accepted yet, but what sorta class would Alvin fall into, y'think?
I'd say Anita is primarily a hit-and-run melee combatant, at least based off how I played her in Guild of Friendship. If she can't get to whoever she's fighting, she'll use Sword Beams, but for the most part, her strategy is get close, throw punch, get back, repeat from another angle.

Just pretend I wrote something witty here, okay?Minna's a tank, chiefly for dealing with magic and other supernatural entities that her shields can block or at least mitigate. Not fail proof, of course, but outside of big bursts of damage that's what she's best at. Basically a shadow-powered yojimbo.
And any kind of night ops are best by virtue of having more dark to work with.
It's okay to apply updates to your character sheet after you've signed up. Just let me know if you've changed it somehow.
Icon by Civvi the Civilian!I'd think Setsuko would be tops in terms of pure physical stats (Ruyi Jingu Bang is said to way around nine tons, but that level of strength might be a bit extreme since this RP seems to have a lower power level), though not so much in versatility since she's mostly focused on direct combat.
Since she's probably the most durable as well, she'd likely be an all-around front line melee fighter. With a few tricks up her sleeve. Basically everyone who isn't super tough get behind her and take potshots at her enemies .
What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?I might change Sheik's signup to include her elemental magic harp from Hyrule Warriors; I thought at first it might be OP (even if it's only five spells) but looking at some of the others she might actually need the buff.
Anyway, Sheik would definitely excel in an infiltration/stealth role; what else would you need a ninja for? Her combat skills aren't to be underestimated though; she's currently #1 on the SSB tier list for a reason. She's mostly a combo-and-run fighter with agility and evasion to compensate for her normal-strength attacks.
Since there's now eighteen characters (with the possibility of more) might we looking at around 4 groups of 4-5 characters?
they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGobIrwin is probably tougher than her but Setsuko is definity stronger and faster than him, so she's going to be more dangerous in melee combat.
I'd wait for the count of stable players first before we decide who goes on what group, otherwise there will be groups with more players as the starting weeks cause players to drop out.
Also, I might just edit it so the Ribbon Badge that holds the jinni rat is very durable to justify why Irwin puts it in an area that's possible to get hit. It ain't going to be a Pocket Protector though, because that trope is dumb and Irwin is already armoured (well, except around the head)
Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.Let's see...So far we have:
A psychic conductor, a magical girl, a fantasy-ninja, a demon hunting rebel, a surrogate Dark Elf, a magical Homunculus, a Space Captain, two penguins, a Kung fu monkey, a murderous hamster/badger/gerbil/furball, a Space Hunter, a Dark Knight Moogle, a cyborg warrior and her Can'tLiveWithoutYou buddy, a Sith, and a superhero. Quite the team.
Ironically Irwin has never been to space. Also, Ribbon doesn't like being left out.
Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.
